well i deactivated my facebook a couple of months ago, which is pretty much like wiping myself off of the planet lol. there wasn't really a reason, i just got tired "stalkerish" quality to it and i would find myself wasting so much time on fb reading random info about ppl i don't really even care about anyway.
and within a few days (and weeks), i had so many friends text me saying "you deleted your fb?!" "you fb is gone!" "why'd you delete fb?!"and idk...it just felt kind of....liberating knowing my every actions (through pics being posted or ppl writing on my wall etc) weren't so PUBLIC anymore.
so does anyone here not have fb as well? it feels like i'm the only one lol. esp bc i'm in uni, so it's already hard maintaining contacts with high school friends and such!
Does anyone here NOT have facebook?!

I, also deactivated my account. Personally I find it a waste of time, even if I do get back to my old friends, it will never be the same anyway. I actually have more free time since I quit Facebook.

I have FB but I technically don't even use it. Since I made that account for a longtime friend overseas, he's the only one in my friendslist.. haha 
And we just send each other messages once in a while because it's so easy.
I live in The Netherlands and people here have 'Hyves'. It's like, the Facebook of The Netherlands since EVERYBODY has it. Pisses me off so much everybody says it's to 'keep in touch with your old friends' while you can use a phone to do that, that I never even made an account.

but yeah, some ppl i know do react like "omg u don't have fb?!" like it's so necessary or something. it isn't (to me).
i still keep in good touch with all the ppl i care about and stuff.

I never wanted one, but my friend kept bothering me about it so I got one and made her shut up.
I always knew it was pointless, and still feel that way.
I deactivate it very often when I have bad days or just because I feel like it.

^ me too, that's the only reason why I joined. I admit I did get addicted at one time, but recently I've been SO sick of it.

erm...I don't think having Facebook is the most distracting thing ever. If you can't keep yourself from Facebook thats completely your own fault. To tell you the truth I was one of the last people of all my friends to join Facebook. I joined because like many others my friends kept nagging me to get one (surprised too that I didn't have one lol). It has its benefit of connecting everyone with everyone and old friends meeting eachother again. Its only an issue if you make it one.

I do~hardly ever use it though and lately I have felt the need to delete it. All the lame, love status & rainbow pictures are boring enough. Then almost everyone I know updates their status every 5-15 minutes and that is no exaggeration.
The only thing is I have friends I've know for years all over the world on facebook & no one answers emails anymore D:

i hardly use FB for networking, posting pics, posting status and comments, .. it's not my thing.
If I see friends, I add them, and that's all. I hardly talk to them.
I only use it to play games, and to find deals updates on certain websites, like eBates, VS, AE, ASOS, etc.
