Has anyone seen the trailer for the Nicholas Sparks movie - The Last Song?
Opens April 2nd!

I saw a bunch of images on Facebook earlier this week, but the trailer really got me. It looks like such a sweet coming-of-age story about a teenage girl (Miley) finding her first love and having to deal with so much confusion and heartbreak along the way. I'm a sucker for all things Nicholas Sparks - the way he combines a good love story and a beautiful seaside backdrop gets me every time!

I thought she looked really good in the trailer. I don't know if you know this, but Nicholas Sparks wrote the film with her in mind - pretty cool if you ask me. You can tell from the preview that this is a much more mature role and I thought she delivered. I'm interested to see her take on a new character.

Honestly, I'm not a Miley Cyrus fan.
But since I love Nicholas Sparks' works so much, I'll give this movie a shot.

Sparks has yet to disappointment me and the cast has one of my favorites - Greg Kinnear (Little Miss Sunshine, Sabrina - all gems!)

AND Liam Hemsworth is totally adorable...easy to picture falling in love with him!

Bumping this up with a new video that just came out for the movie. Great to hear Sparks explain the story. I think the movie looks really touching! Can't wait.

I think this movie is going to be a failure...To me the other Nicholas Spark's movie Dear John will be more appealing to the masses because the movie is alot more relatable and heart-wrenching...Plus I like Amanda Seyfried who is a much better actress than Miley Cyrus by a mile. Also a trailer with Snow Patrols song fire on theThrid Bar will make me cry abucket of tears when I see it and hear it tongue.gif

I'm reading the book right now, and I got so excited today when I heard that it was going to be made into a movie. So far, the book is great. I love Nicholas Sparks. ^^ When I saw Miley, though, I was a bit thrown off. She doesn't seem to be the Ronnie was thinking of with the dark hair and purple streak. The trailer seemed alright though, so maybe it won't be too disappointing. Jonah in the trailer is awesome. xD definitely similar to Jonah in the book. =)

I think the story is totally relatable - first loves, family bonds. I totally think people can relate to that. Considering the role was written for Miley, I would think she is the perfect Ronnie....

Great to hear that you're enjoying the book! I need to get a copy. Bobby Coleman plays Jonah and he does a great job in the trailer playing the little brother - love the line when he makes fun of her being a vegetarian.

I still support her in the role. remember it's Ronnie, not Hannah Montana - we've never seen her in a dramatic role like this.

ps the release date moved up two day (now it's listed as March 31 on the facebook page!)

I'm not a fan of Miley Cyrus at all, buuut I'm so watching this just because it's based on a Nicholas Sparks novel. The other movies haven't disappointed me so much yet so I'm hoping this one won't.

The fact it's based on Nicholas Sparks's book, I am going to go watch it. He's an amazing writer and the movies really don't disappoint me...that much. XD

funny how the trailer shows almost NO speaking parts of miley's ... the brother spoke more than her. haha! this is going to be HORRIBLE. miley cannot act. 8/

sparks movie + miley cyrus would be very ineteresting indeed..
like previously mentioned, last song was actually written as a screenplay first for miley cyrus before releasing it as a book, so its kinda backwards from the trend right now which is movie adaptations of books..tht alone would wanna make me watch it, miley or no miley..

ive already read the book mind you, and ronnie's character doesn't really fit into miley cyrus at all..i just really hope she pulls it off bring justice to the book..

I loved the book so hopefully the movie is as good as the movie of course! I just hope not much parts will be skipped in the movie. The book is amazing, love & family relationships <3 Looking forward to the movie though i didnt want miley at first but i guess its alright, she did suggested the name ronnie to nicholas sparks. lol
