idk, I'm embarassed that I might sound crazy or something, but it's happened a few times, where I just cry out of nowhere (like while I'm in the middle of doing homework) because I'm so frustrated.

For instance, these days, the whole college-applications and the overloading amount of schoolwork is just stressing me out soooooo much. I know, college will be just as hard and others have it hard as well, but right now as a senior, it's just ..... hard. and all the doubts of getting rejected into my applied colleges just adds onto the pressure. so i just start tearing.

Another time, I got into a fight with my mother, and I was infuriated, and because I couldn't break all my furniture, I just suddenly broke down and cried ....

): i'm sure guys never had this happen to them, but girls?

It's normal! It's called having a nervous breakdown:-)

Just calm down and punch a pillow if you need to.

It's perfectly normal. College apps and law school apps were similarly nerve wracking. I cried for about 2 hours before my LSATs and took the exam with my eyes swollen (I'm just so glad I didn't puke while taking it). My contracts professor said that he's seen all sorts of things happen to people taking the bar exam--including fainting. He said that he was once working in the library during exam time when one of the students started screaming (and, funny enough, all the other law students turned around to stare at him for two seconds before going back to work like nothing'd happened). The whole point is that stress is natural during stressful times and crying is a natural reaction to stress. But it's important to keep working.

this is normal.. when i was applying for schools, i'd cry out of frustration all the time. and even though i'm not the type to get into arguments with my mom, i'd do that too. it was... uncharacteristic.. and i was worried like you.

but all will be well, in the end. smile.gif

When you cry, it relieves stress. Or so I've been told...
Ooh, life is good. ♥ :)

lol as you can see your def not alone on this one.
it's stress build up and crying is just another outlet for relief.
honestly I used to do this often in high school (even though now i realize how hs wasn't even that stressful)
but now even though I've been doing horrible in college and I always feel like
I need to take a load off my shoulders and have a good cry ... nothing comes out haha
yet I'm still able to sob like a child every time I watch forest gump tongue.gif

I'm a bit odd aren't I?

Im surpsied you asked about this? You're human, you should know.
Completely normal, everyone does.
Crying is your your mind and body's way of relieving stress and comforting you.
I have too many days where i feel so stressed a cry a little, but be positive and hang in there!

cheer up ash-lee. you will be fine and since you put this under 'love and relationships' thread, ill tell you that most girls prob just break down and cry over guys. shoot, i even think some guys cry over girls, but only leo-dicaprio-in-titanic-type guys.

but its not just a girl thing... its a human thing.

wouldnt u rather be with a guy that cries when stressed out than a guy who cheats on his girl when hes stressed? i.e., midlife crisis?

good luck on college apps!

Been there.
Still am. Sometimes I also get so confused about homeworks that I just suddenly start crying. I try to hold my tears in when im around people but I think its noticable. No one mentions anything, though.
Sometimes when I was watching TV, I just started crying. Retarted but I guess I was just so confused with everything that was going on home.

It happens to a lot of people, so you are not alone. I use to be like that to a lot of things. Even though stress is normal having to lead to points where you cry over it or going into extreme emotional lows isn't always healthy. Try looking into stress coping strategies like mediation or even just deep breathing the last thing you sound like you need is to completely break from not being able to handle stress properly.

I actually think that's very normal. Crying could be a great way of letting out your stress.. every time I cry (be it out of frustration, stress, sadness or anger) afterward I feel so much better, like a weight's been lifted off my shoulder.. for the time being anyways.

COMPLETELY normal. i've had this type of feeling multiple number of times.
When i feel completely pressured and stressed with school work and my friends and family and basically, life.
and it's best to have these sometimes, just to let yourself go and cry it all out.

sometimes people have to cry out all there tears to make room for a heart fullll of smiles. smile.gif
