My friend was too shy to ask other people and I have no idea if its ok, so I'm asking here.
She has something on the outer lip of her v area. Is it ok to put vaseline to heal it?

*Ok, I know Vaseline is for diaper rash but I've used it when I pop a pimple and it works.

Internal, NO.
External, MAYBE.

If it's on the area around the vagina I would assume it would be okay but, if it's anything further inside then don't do it. Vaseline wasn't meant for vaginas the last time I checked.

Vaseline works for external hemorrhoids. So, I think it should be able to work the same way and help heal whatever she has in that area. You aren't suppose to use Vaseline for internal use because it is not water soluble making it difficult for the body to eliminate.Other than that, vaseline works wonders...externally.

Ok, if she has "something" she should go to a gynecologist, and check it out. If it's herpes, treatment makes sure the first flare (which apparently sucks) never appears like that again, and possibly never. No treatment, you get flares periodically for sure.

It could also be something else (like bacterial, or fungal infection or some other viral STD), which can also require specialist treatment.

Vaseline won't do anything, except keep the area moisturised somewhat.
