Boa Stays Loyal to SM

SM Entertainment is known to have created many k-pop stars, such as HOT, SES, Shinhwa, FTTS, Boa, and TVXQ. SM has hardcore training programs for young people with potential and are known for finding good talent. It may be the pressure SM puts on their artists, or because the lack of money they offer.... whatever it may be, SM is known to have a big majority of their artists move out of their company, as soon as the record contracts are over.

K-pop icons, like HOT (excluding Kang Ta), SES, Shinhwa, and Fly to the Sky have all chosen to move to different entertainment companies. There were people talking all over the internet last year, when Boa was about to introduce her fifth Korean album. This is because, everyone knew SM's contract with Boa, was supposedly over after her fifth album. People were wondering, if Boa was going to follow in many of her sunbae's footsteps, and leave SM after the album is over.

Boa had no comment back then.... Now the year 2005 is over, and so are the end of the year awards. Boa's record contract is officially over! Many music labels were jumping at the chance of having Boa in their companies! She had so many great offers, that included bonuses for just signing the contract..... However, she is one of the few, who are still staying loyal to SM.

Boa has already rejected all offers from other labels, and is planning on renewing her contract with SM Entertainment. Even though there are better contracts that offer more money from other companies, Boa says that SM and its staff are like family to her, and she does not want to leave them.

More like, SM wouldn't try to lose her. They probably made a lot of money from her activities in Korea and Japan.

I think most of the artists who leave SM want to be able to branch out and really develop their own style.
SM always seemed too...controlled to me. I think of Sm Town, I think of a factory, and its quite unnerving.

They prolly make sure Boa is happy enough to stay at SM, my guess. But because she's with SM, I can never be too sure how much of the Boa we see in mv's and perfs is TRULY Boa, you know?
Whenever there seems to be a bad decision made, people point at the guys (stylists, managers, et al) over at SM as the reason. So, wouldn't Boa's success and good image also be attributed mainly to SM's 'creative team'?
Staying with SM is good for business and success...but it doesn't seem like Boa has a lot of say in developing new looks and music for herself.
It might seem harsh, but its almost like she's a puppet.

she's never had any problems with them before.
she's been marketed and trained and treated well.
and she's lee soo man's favorite.
if i was in her position i think i would stay too.

plus, all the artists left because they wanted "more"..
but boa already has all of it anyway. international success, consecutive hit albums, a big fanbase, and a company that 100% supports her and focuses most of their attention on her.

no boa CAN'T leave. SM's put too much money, time, and effort into her. they're not about to let her go. i'm sure they just made it look like she had a choice. but best of luck to boa! i hope she doesn't regret this decision...

Boa has created a name for herself under SM, and she been working with the same people for a long time. I can understand why she decided to stay with them.

no other company would be able to promote her like SM can.
if it wasnt for SM, i really dont think she'd be as popular as she is now...
i think its good for her to stay in SM. I think the reasons other gasoos left SM was not cause of those harsh and rediculous far fetched stories about SM people hear, but its that SM binds there artists into long contracts and so i assume mostly groups dont want to stick together for another long 5 years even if they stay friends... i doubt SM would let them try something new because its a risk and they dont enjoy market failures. Some left for mistreatment (Moon Hee Jun and JTL) but i think SES wanted to try solo careers, Shinhwa didnt want to be bound to a long contract so they signed with Good which was a 3 year contract, and for some reason i cant think of a reason FTTS would leave SM... :/

Boa did have a choice!! No matter how powerful SM is, if the contract is over, they have no power over her anymore....
It was Boa had a choice, and she decided to stay with SM... I think that was very loyal of her!

Shinhwa left because SM only offered about 3 million dollars to stay with them, but Good Entertainment's contract was only 3 years long and offered them 6 million dollars in US money.
FTTS also left because of money, but they did not publicize how much money was involved in their record contracts.
