Does anyone know how to fix it or download the Demultiplexer/DirectX? T___T It won't work on ANY .tp file... but it works on Gom Player though. I hope this has nothing to do with RAM and HDD. *stabs them*
My computer started having LAGGING VIDEOS nowadays... if it's like 500MB (.tp file) for 3 minutes it goes ballistic and lags here and there sometimes.

As of the weird error message...I have no idea why you get it o.o;; I've tried a couple of other players in addition to Gom and half of them lagged, the other half refused to play the files all together :<

God I better get a 1 GB stick quick. =X Video cards have to do with it, too? No wonder. After I downloaded another version of an ATI control panel it started... I should've kept the old one or at least know what version it was. algkjaslkgsdj

what i'd do is move quartz.dll from windows/system32 folder to another folder for safe-keeping, then reinstall directx http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=en

there is a error in a d-string in ur registery (reason for the error message), the d-string is corrupt and value needs to be deleted. do not edit the registry if u r not sure in which key the class (installation) file exist, get sum1 2 help, the resgistry can be opened and edited using regedit.
O...kay. O__O I had no idea what you were saying... LOL. Sounds way too complicated. o,O
you mentioned that you got the problem after you downloaded the new ATI software... some of the newer ATI stuff is known to kill off the directshow subsystem of directx for some people (same thing happened to me)

Curse you ATI -0-
Ackkk I did that all and it still doesn't work.
Same thing happened with OnAirEditor, I can't seem to play the files...

maybe go...
start -> run -> dxdiag
... and see if it reports any errors

btw, which version did you download? <,< I downloaded two older ones (one REALLY old and the other not so old) and both of them didn't solve the problem.
And I installed/uninstalled DirectX like 43154x already now.

try this...
1. uninstall all ATI software and reinstall the latest ATI software without the control panel option, rebooting when it asks you to...
2. delete quartz.dll and reinstall directx
3. try running the video, if it still doesn't work then try manually registering quartz.dll again like this...
start -> run -> regsvr32 quartz.dll
4. try running the video, if it still doesn't work then try manually registering the MS MPEG2 demultiplexer by going...
start -> run -> regsvr32 c:\windows\system32\mpg2splt.ax
5. if it still doesn't work then i think i've just wasted a lot of your time and misplaced blame on ATI for releasing a new driver every other week...

YESSSSS I FINALLY GOT IT TO WORK!!
I didn't bother with the ATI software (too annoyed... I'm starting to hate ATI now) and went all the way to #4. xD
It feels so good being able to play such high quality fics. <3
