It's my DREAM school. However, the tuition is crazy CRAZY expensive.
And I've asked this question before soompi crashed, but does Parsons give scholarships out? Do they give scholarships based on artwork and skills or grades?? My mom keeps telling me scholarships are only given for grades whether its an artschool or not, and I kind of dont believe her.. HAHA =X

someone please help me T_T!
and thanks in advance!

that's per term...so it should be 28.5k~ a year on tuition alone.
factor in on-campus or off-campus housing and that's easily 40k a year.
and then books...but more importantly, art supplies...and that'll stack up a lot.

it's a private college -- that's just the way they all are.

anyway, my friend applied and i think there are scholarships.

there are a lot of companies where they give out scholarships if you are financially unstable. i know some people who lied that they come from a poor family so they got some money covered ;] actually, that's how my family got their health insurance covered...

well, i looked into Pratt and it's similar to Parsons
tuition:around $28,000
housing:$11,500
books ane etc: close to $2,000

per credit hour $910 but may be more for Parsons

APPLY FOR FAFSA!!! its free money!!! and look into scholoarships, some are based on GPA/ academic merit (Pell grant that is evaluated with the FAFSA, its not a separate form thing..) fastweb.com is really helpful..GO TO IT... and look into collegeboard.com for college search. it will give you all the college info you need...

sigh...crazy crazy...sup if i come out and become a successful designer..than it's worth it in the long run

parsons is..the kind of school that barely gives scholarships..
if you are SUPER talented and VERY smart..than i guess there's a chance..=T

i dont live in the states so it's even harder for me to get a scholarship

yes they give out academic scholarship as well as a "bachelor of fine arts" scholarship..which is based on how good you portfolio is.

basically, if you are smart and artistic... you will get a lot of money from them.

if you average, then no. that doesnt cut it.

scholarships in arts and grants pay for half of my tuition. Just keep applying everywhere for them. Regular tuition is about 30k a year

^than would it be cheaper if i do live on campus?..cause if i can save some money for my parents..i would rather live in something small and share..=T..but of course i really want to live alone..no room mates

if it cost the same living alone and on campus..than i would live else where instead

Some peole like the dorms..some people hate it.

It's really not worth it. It's about 1000 which includes food, but the work space is small and you'd be living around young people which can be good or bad depending on how you like your enviroment.

You'd be dorming with someone and the space would be small. For 1,000/person (not including food) you can get a really really nice place with a roomate or if you go for 2 or more it would obviously be cheaper. 1,000 can get you a really decent place in NYC..but I would shoot for 1500.00 for a decent place in a good area.

^i see...
so it's just better to live with room mates else where..and cheaper..=T
sigh...i still like to live alone..but i dont mind living with others..
i rather them not provide food for me..XD..maybe it wont be my taste
