But i must say there's a lot in your post that i agree with (like why cant they scrap Iljimae!). I'm rather against the whole idea of even filming Iljimae at all this year, given how the odds seemed stacked against the MBC version. Like I've said, I dislike the idea of LSG in a period drama (dont think it suits his image at all). Then again things might change when the actual drama airs. It might be the big break for LSG. After all, Kdramas have created miracles for the careers of so many stars (just look at Rain and people). Well, I'll just cross my fingers and hope everything goes well. And that LSG will be able to cope somehow.

Thanks Sunlight for the information and the translations. The selfish part of me is cheering because I'll be seeing him weekly and I so love seeing him in 1n2d.

But a larger part is concerned about his health and career. Especially since the drama is filmed in Japan so he'll be frequently flying. He's already said that he doesn't eat well and I hope he does do his physical before they start filming so he's aware of his own health.

Iljimae's a physically demanding role (he plays a thief right?). Plus he's the main character. So he really needs to be on top of things. I really want his acting career to be a success so I want him to give 100% on his acting. With his attention divided, I hope he is able to do that. I'm not too concerned about his music activities yet. I have a feeling he'll be doing a goodbye performance soon on Music Bank. Does anyone know how long it takes to shoot dramas? Didn't I read before his new album is coming out later in the year, or is that a rumour? So he'll need to fit recordings and practice in there too. Plus I hope he's not going to school during this time because I think that will be too much then.

I know there are other entertainers who have more on their plate than this but I feel protective of LSG.

You know, I always wondered how they choose the actors in Korean dramas. For LSG to all of a sudden get the main role on a big production Especially when he's only had 2-3 previous acting gigs (nonstop 5 and chil sisters) as relatively minor roles. So does anyone know if the actors audition for these roles or is there backroom dealing? Like I read in the Chil sisters thread, they didn't have high expectations of LSG's acting. Well, why hire him then? I just don't get it...

sigh~ I peacefully dont agree with 1N2D being seungi's security net. i think the show has alot more meaning to him than
the popularity he gained through it. like when he mentioned that through the show, he has been able to experience MTs, which he hasnt been able to go to while in college and the friendships he has gained with the fellow memebers of 1N2D.

but i do agree with the complication of the juggling act of Iljimae and 1N2D. but then again, he still is young and probably wants to experiment with acting further. Although i dont approve of seungi's Iljimae associated with GoongS, i believe in his natural acting ability to pull through the drama. seungi FIGHTING ♡♡♡ !!!

o51029 If I don't remember wrongly, LSG said in one of his interviews that after the promotional events for his second remake album wraps up, he would then move on to prepare and plan for a new album, and thus the new album would be out late this year at the earliest. In which case i don't think would be possible looking at the whole string of activities planned for him now. From what I gather from my friend's producer dad, there are usually auditions for drama roles. Even so, the scriptwriters/directors would have in mind a few people they think are potentially suitable for the role and invite them to audition for the drama and then pick the most suitable one, so its not like as if people just get randomly named at the directors preference and that's it, they're off to film. Then again. I wouldnt be surprised if there is the occasional backroom dealing. There are shady deals in every trade, so why would the entertainment world be any different? In any case, I'm glad that they dont shy away from casting newbies in kdramas. Its risky but it pays off when the newbies show potential.

Oh guys! I'm just done watching this week's 1D2N (well, its actually 2N3D for this ep) and I must say I really liked it a lot. Lots of laughs as usual, and the entire scene with the camping car speeding along the beach was just so pretty! Here are a couple of scenes from the episode, dont read if you havent watched it and dont want to spoil the fun. The links to this week's episode are already up on the 1N2D thread (for Veoh) and htruc has already uploaded the videos on her youtube channel. I MUST say that this show is the best, its so spontaneous. Next week the guys are going to play soccer with some army guys they met on the way. Looks fun!

On the boat
The six guys are headed off to Baengnyeongdo this time, and they're taking a boat to get there. First they head out to the deck to check it out.
EJW: Actually I'm a little worried about today..
KHD: Why?
EJW: Its 2 days 3 nights..
MCM: Shall I go 'take care' (of the crew) for you then? (take care as in go whack them or something, lol!! MCM is so funny!)
KHD: Ah, its ok..
MCM starts making mean faces, which cracks KHD up totally. Apparently MCM is trying to act like a despicable cad (in line with his 'taking care of the crew'), and KHD covers his face so that he can do it one more time for the camera.
MCM (making a mean face): Are you going to change your channel now? CHANNEL?
LOL, KHD is so amused that he asks Iljimae (well, LSG of course. I was a little surprised KHD called him that.) to try too. But LSG's version doesnt look mean at all! Then the guys start complaining that he looks good and cute instead of mean, to which they ask MCM to demonstrate the mean face again. After that KHD tells the viewers last week we saw EJW the dooly (둘리 - its a character from a cartoon, a baby dinosaur) and this week we will see the mean dooly. So EJW joins in the fun too together with MCM to make weird faces and KHD falls on the floor laughing at them. Funny!!

Multiplication table game
Back in the boat they of course decide to play a game (I think the winners get to have snacks), and so they team up, KimC-MCM-LSG vs KHD-EJW-LSGuen. KHD gets picked to go against KimC and so they start the game. Basically the game involves multiplication tables, and KHD fails miserably on his 1st attempt. He answers that 3X7=36, and LSGuen exclaims about how embarrassing it is that KHD doesnt even know his multiplication tables and that someone should call Baeksang (presumably to inform them how their award winning host is such an embarrassment and take away his award,lol). Thus, MCM, LSG and KimC run off to buy their snacks, and LSGuen remarks that 4X7 is not even 29, how can it be 30+..? While the 3 boys are buying their snacks, LSGuen and KHD start playing a 'most ridiculous answer' version of the multiplication table game.
KHD: 3X8?
LSGuen: 1364! 2X9?
KHD: 400. 3X7?
LSGuen: 640. 2X8?
And the screen flashes 'they're fools..' then KHD and LSGuen decides to play the multiplication table game by punning on the words.
KHD: 6x3 = building (63 building)
LSGuen: 2x9 (ee gu) = ahna (the whole thing will sound like Iguana)
2x8 (ee pal - it sounds like this arm in korean)= gypsum (as in plaster of paris, meaning its in a cast..)
he's actually quite smart to come up with the multiplication table puns on the spot! really funny guy, Mr comedian LSGuen.

The PD decides to give KHD another chance to answer 5 multiplication questions, and they start again. LSG suddenly cuts into their conversation.
LSG: Hyung, can you try this again first? 2X1 is 2, 2X2 is 4... (asking him to practice his multiplication table of 2!! Haha, sneaky old LSG..)
KHD laughs in bitterness, and MCM joins in the teasing, singing the multiplication table of 2 together with LSG. The PD then proceeds with the game, where KHD answers the question wrongly again! The only question KHD managed to answer right was 4X8, haha! They then get LSG to practice playing the game.
KHD: 7X6?
LSG: 42
KHD: 8X6?
LSG: 48
KHD: 8X4?
LSG: 32
KHD: 9X7?

LSG just keeps on asking KHD questions from the multiplication table of 3. KHD realises this, as well as the fact that LSG is doing this to make fun of him, and KHD makes a face that was really really hilarious! Ahh.. Seung Gi is getting really cheeky these days! Naughty naughty to make fun of KHD like this.. anyway, the guys fall asleep after this, and they get woken up by the PD to choose a person to get off the boat to go catch fish and earn money. LOL! Poor MCM gets sabotaged for the job, to which he starts yelling his manager's name and drags his manager into the job too.

MCM's fishy job
MCM and his manager had to go catch fish to earn money for the six guys, so they got off earlier to do the job. The whole process was hilarious! MCM kept asking his manager whether he was ready to run and throw the huge green fishing net into the sea, and when they finally started running, MCM tripped over something and fell! But that wasnt the funniest part, the funniest thing was that MCM's mananger suddently exclaimed that his pants got torn! And the tear was near the crotch area, so he was grabbing his pants in a rather unsightly manner. Well, they tried running into the sea again, and this time MCM kept falling over because of the waves. He gave up and ran to the shore screaming that it was really cold, and started piling the warm sand all over himself. LOL! MCM's manager then yelled that the tear in his pants had gotten even bigger! While MCM was busying covering himself up with sand to warm himself up, his manager ripped two holes in a pink sack and wore it as makeshift pants. FUNNY!!! MCM later caught a fish using a basket, and both he and his manager was sooo happy about it! LOL!

ok that's it for now, i just got news that i got accepted for a vacation job! Off to celebrate, be back with more later!!

Hope everyone's off to a nice start with their weeks. It's been pretty hectic in my neck of the woods, and was away for all but a few days but wow so much has happened!

B-unnie, I don't think you wrote anything in your vent-post that called for an apology in any way. To add my two cents on the matter, I truly hope that he's able to give 100% to both shows, and I'll keep my fingers crossed that he does...because if he doesn't, then it'll definitely affect both shows. I may be reaching when I say this, but the last two episodes (the Bunjee jump episode and the one after that), it SEEMS to me that MCM is just "kinda there." His presence is still felt, but I get the feeling that he's just there hanging out, and I think it's because he is truly beat up by his schedule... If no one else agrees with what I just said, then forget what I just wrote haha. My point is, I hope I don't get the same feeling from LSG as I did with MCM the last two episodes...

I too think that 1N2D can more than go on if LSG were to leave, because the show is bigger than any one of the stars on the show, but the magic of the show is the chemistry between the six guys, which wasn't there before MCM and LSG...so I think no one wants to mess with something so special, probably LSG just as much as anyone else, and for that, I applaud him. Ultimately, I think LSG will be able to do both, but I think he'll miss more than a week of shooting 1N2D...

B-unnie, your new 1N2D MV - I love all the pics, and can truly appreciate the mindfulness on your part with regard to how you constructed the slide show. Some pics that I just loved (the music helping highlight the wonderful feeling the pics emit): EJW pretending to feed KHD followed by LSG/KimC/KHD holding the kettle/bowls, the solo shot of the tent in the snow (love that!) followed by KHD lifting LSG up, the shot of LSG/KHD and KimC in the red car, and the pics from the Korea Sings episode. I can't wait for the next one (will there be a next one?)

Sarangaia - CONGRATS ON THE JOB!!! And THANK YOU for your summaries/translations. I saw the "LSG marrying the little girl" episode yesterday, and you did a write up of it last week, and I honestly don't know what else I can add to it other than some random thoughts:
I love how EJW decided to drive and relieve LSGeun of some of the duties, and also, I thought it was interesting that the guys entrusted EJW to throw the sticks at the end --- is our choding growing up? And for MCM to throw the "geh" and EJW to throw the "gul" and for the guys to make it in time to win the camping car --- that was truly just a beautiful episode to watch.

These two episodes - EJW's 108 bows, the bunjee jump drama, the down-to the-wire win, I think reaffirmed what a great group of guys this is. MCM says it in the end, but EJW also says how no one can leave the group because each one is so special (this was in the car after KimC bunjee jumped). Can't wait for the pics from this trip to be in another vid B-unnie hehe.

sarangaia, congrats on the job. Thanks for the translation. There were a lot more dialogues in this episode so you helped a lot. MCMong and his manager are beyond silly. OMG. It's close to farcical. I must say the captions, music and special editing by 1N2D made the scenes even more hilarious. Ha. One thing I didn't understand is how did the five guys reunite with MCMong? Was it by accident that they were spotted? Also, LSG doing the tumbling! He didn't seem too graceful there, did he? Too funnnayyy. All I could think of when watching that was: Is this my Iljimae? The dashing hero? The Robin Hood with the awesomest fighting skills? Oh well, we still have five months left, don't we.

Guys, one thing that has been puzzling for me. We think that LSG will start filming soon for Iljimae, possibly even this month. Yet, I don't see anything that physically is different about him. llooo8oooll Hellooo!! Welcome! Hope you stick around here often! The first time I heard LSG's fanclub name I thought it was a China-based one, because Airen sounds like lover in chinese. I later read somewhere on the net (I forgot where..) that the name indeed comes from the chinese word 爱人, which like i said earlier means lover, so it probably means lover of LSG or something. Not very sure how true/accurate this article I read is (since the net is full of hokey pokey everywhere), but I guess it should be pretty accurate. Not sure how the name came about though.

Bedifferent I loved the pink shirt, but he looked HOT in that black polo shirt. He looked toned and fit, ooh, handsome! Those picture books look darn good! How do these people get the time, energy and money to make these things so professional-looking, I wonder. Oh, and nope, the guys didnt find MCM by accident, they were informed to go pick him up. But the guys were too busy observing the view by the sea (and possibly also too far away) to hear MCM screaming away (of course, the ever popular 'Seung Gi yah!!!' scream ) I agree LSG's tumbling really funny! He wasn't exactly graceful in executing the tumble but his pose before and after looked like some Olympic gymnast at a competition, LOL!! Dont worry Bedifferent ! Our Iljimae has many crew, wire (and maybe stunt doubles? haha!) to help him, and if that doesnt work out, there's always technology to the rescue. He's gonna be oooh so dashing, for sure!

i don't know if you guys were aware, but there was talk several days back about 1n2d possibly planning on going to 'baekdusan' (around the border of north korea & china, i think)

it looks like it's been confirmed! starting on the 13th they'll make their way to baekdusan for 4 nights 5 days!!! they're planning on first going to china to get there (i guess it'd be pretty darn difficult to get there through north korea )

It's pretty much confirmed that our six boys will be going off on a most excellent adventure. I think they will mostly be filming on the China side of the Paektu mountain for a tentative 4N5D trip beginning on 6/13. I didn't check LSG schedule but I think his calendar is clear from 6/12 on (until 6/23), right o51029? So excited. I'm banking on some wonderful photographs from this trip. On a more serious note, this trip may carry significant international goodwill since there has been considerable tension between South Korea and China recently. That which South Korea is requesting ownership privilege to this sacred mountain range. This also highlights the recent willingness of North Korea to open up this side of their country for tourism. With hope in boosting the economy in the process. If 1N2D actually enters into North Korea for filming, then it will be even more amazing. Interesting trip no doubt. Trust it to our dear guys to make this a most memorable pilgrimage. And to foster peace and love in the process (I hope, hehehe). Ahhh, as if we have not love them to death already. Can't wait to see this. I wonder if this will turn out to be a self-discovery journey for anyone of them. I sense TNS ratings monster. Good luck to all of them. I wonder how helpful EJW and LSG are with their somewhat proficient English skills on this international trip. (LSG, your nightmare has come true! It's not the South Pole but it looks mighty cold there). Very creative of the 1N2D production crew. Let's see how many episodes will this trip be broken into. Perhaps LSG will have time to squeeze Iljimae's filming in between these longer trips. Still a challenge, but we'll see.

OMG you are right, LSG's nightmare IS coming true! 1N2D became 2N3D and now its gonna be 4N5D! Maybe one day they will do a 15N16D, then 29N30D! LOL!!! Woo! Why am i so happy about their nightmares coming true? LOL. Since they'll be flying to China, I'm not too sure their english skills will be put to test. Most people there speak their regional dialects and mandarin, and in more developed areas like Shanghai and Beijing they speak english (but most of their english leaves much to be desired). Will be a very very interesting episode indeed. I LOVEE 1N2D!! Its the best variety show around these days, AND LSG is on it! Its like the icing on a cake. Its nice that the 4N5D trip can be viewed as a trip of goodwill, but i really hope it wouldnt become the focus of the trip. I want my international politics separated from my entertainment as much as possible, if you know what i mean. From the pictures, the trip looks like its gonna turn out to be rather taxing.
