bedifferent, eequezee, and heather, thank you guys for ep44. You guys did an amazing job putting that all together. How did all the coordination get done? email? pm? amazing what you can do when you put your heads together. One of the best eps just got a whole lot better. Ive only watched the first part, but it's like I'm watching new all over again. Just loving how Ho Dong and gang were giving him such a hard time for his seemingly innocent comments. They made it seem like he's the most inportant part of the show and it's popular and all because of him. LOL. It was soo cute to see him all perplexed and distraught. Especially when Ho dong got down on his knee's. He's such a gullable kid, but I loved how he ended it by going off on them. Ha ha. Go Emperor Seung Gi!!

eloise, thank yo so much for translating that article! It is so rare for me to actually get to understand Seung Gi's interviews and words. It's like I finally get insight on what he's really like as a person, hearing his thoughts and opinions. Although the article was from his early days it was still cool to know he really does like rock. Oasis, Van Halen, and sting? Very cool. Gosh, how I wish he would go that route for a future album. Go back to your roots boy!

Hi ivey-unnEE!!! Your "maknae" post gave me one of the widest smiles I've had in a while. HUGGING YOOOOO!!!!
Regarding the process of making the subbed episodes: I PM Bee-unnie the translations, then Bee-unnie abracadabras it with help from Heather and Kaboom! It's on Youtube! That's how I think it all goes down

I love that scene where KHD and EJW play the prank on LSG. What's really great about it is that while they're giving him a hard time by saying he's some arrogant hotshot, they're actually highlighting just how much LSG is NOT those things. It's really quite endearing isn't it? KHD also calls LSG "Emperor/Ruler" throughout the entire episode, calling back to this first scene, which is funny too.

I can't talk enough about this episode. There's a stretch that is truly just wonderful. After the KimC/EJW contest, MCM goes nuts and drenches himself (HA!), then MCM realizes that he's out of underwear because he lent his extra pair to LSGeun back when they were on the ship (HA!), then they get outside where LSGeun tells us he's wearing MCM's underwear, EJW tells us he's not wearing ANY, and then KimC says he's wearing the same ones from the day before (HA!), and THEN we have the LSGeun tour guide scene (HA!) --- and of course, the last few minutes makes us absolutely love everyone.

Regarding the two songs you subbed: I think they're great. You've done a really awesome job of syncing the syllables (what's the word for that called?) so that the translations flow nicely with the meter of the lyrics. I think translating songs and poems are the toughest things to do, and whoever translated those songs --- my hat's off to them!

REGARDING TRANSLATIONS: I think I'm going to go back to the first episode LSG came on 1N2D and start translating that (I have no idea when I'll wrap my head around it and start). By the way I think that while I'LL CRY is on his 2nd album, this song is a remake...not sure though.

I'm thinking my pace will be about 5 minutes a night so that HOPEFULLY - you'll get pages from me every two/three weeks? I probably won't stick to a sched like this - and I'm sure you'll be swamped immediately at PhSchool... Anyway we'll see yeah?

eloise: thanks so much for translating the interview. Vol.2 was obviously notable for its rock and western feel - Crazy for You, Beautiful Girl, Mask, My Possession all had non-traditional K-pop beats. It's too bad that his singing style took off on the ballad route after this album. LSG's musical style now is far different than what his focus and interest were 2 years ago. I wonder what happened. It seemed like his musical career changed after Ms Lee left. Interesting to see that he did not end up singing the type of music that he started out or intend to pursue. I mean he did say that he wants some diversity and creativity in his music; yet, he has primarily been a ballad singer these days. I hope that he'll be able to return to those beginnings (singing with a back-up band, eh?)- cuz I think that he is way too talented to continue singing ballad remakes. Modern rock, alternative rock, indie rock, any of those would be a great challenge for LSG. So he did purposely loose the unique husky voice for the more refined vocal. Hmm. Would also love to see him continue to pursue an acting career - an interest that he has even 2 years ago. It's too bad that he still has not been able to do much in that arena. 1N2D is not really an acting gig. Hopefully, he'll get another chance soon.

Anyways, we hope you enjoyed Ep 44 as much as we did subbing it. The Jejudo trip will go down as a classic; has all the ingredients of what made the show special. Really dear to both eequeezee and I. LOL, I'm neither a magician or a psychic. ivey79, we PM each other as a way to communicate. I timed the episodes (which usually takes a couple of days - cuz I'm slow!!) then megaupload the soft sub. PM to Heather with the link for editing (grammar, spelling, timing check). At this point, she has the option of hardsubbing it or bounce back to me. If she sends back the link, I then hardsub and upload onto YT. Most time consuming steps are the translations and timing.

sarangaia: thanks for posting the pics. Hopefully we'll see more of the shoot on magazine spreads soon. Finally, a clothing endorsement! He looks mighty good there. Luv the wash of the jeans. Have always thought that this style fits him most.

eequeezee: I remember that you've mentioned once that you've roughly translated another earlier episode of 1N2D, which one was it? Do you want me to sub that one? I don't know if you want to spend more time doing detailed work or if it is worth it to work on it again? Take your time on the translation. We'll just play it by feel. Thanks for QC-ing the LSG subs. Subbing those is a challenge; definitely if I don't have the romanization of the lyrics. I go by feel a lot of the time. (BTW, thanks so much for all the prompts that you've included in the 1N2D translations. They're helpful! ) Hopefully, it makes watching his performance a bit more pleasant for others if they understand the lyrics. Interestingly, as I sub these, it really sinks in for me how odd that LSG chose to be a ballad singer. To see a young guy belting out songs about lost love and heartbreaks is somewhat out of place. It makes me want even more to see him sing upbeat songs. And just to rock it out on stage like anyone his age would... or should.

But the editing has toned down, only a couple of minutes snipped off here and there. I'm glad. eequeezee, maybe KBS should hire you as a replacement instead. And then you can bump into LSG there

The 1n2d was sweet today. The show has been running for one year and they went back to the first place they ever visited. I'm looking forward to seeing it when it's subbed. Funny when they compared No Hong Chul signing autographs for food and his replacement Lee Seung Gi doing the same. Many other funny moments but I don't want to spoil for those who haven't watched it yet. I'm looking forward to next week. Too bad they weren't able to call Kim Jong Min though.

ugh, so the PD we know tried to schedule me to meet LSK, but apparently he doesn't have anything going on in Seoul this week... instead he was like, "Sorry, but do you want to meet DBSK instead?" (which doesnt even make sense to me considering they're in Japan right now)

lol, but instead I politely said maybe.
that was basically the most depressing news I heard. I guess I'll never be able to see/meet him.
