The audo quality was average so I couldn't really gauge how he sounded. But just from what I heard, he sounded a bit flat? Dunno. He looked good though. Btw, just a question out of curiosity, for the singers to be in a variety show like 'star golden bell' or 'come to play', they are invited or they need to propose to the PD by themselves? Seung gi performed in many concerts, but he didn't participate in many variety shows like MC Mong & Ji Won. Is there any reason for it? I like to see Seung Gi in variety shows.

I love how in 1n2d they always seem to surprise us. Even though we know the wake-up song, we wouldn't expect the singer to actually sing it live. First they had the song, then they remixed it, then they added the "seung-gi-ahhhh!" etc into it and now they have it sung live. Really really love this show! I can't wait to finally watch it

Ah, finally back here. Been really tied up with school and not feeling well, sigh. Bedifferent unnie, the CF shoot is really nice! At first I wasn't too used to all the sad and melancholic expressions he had while shooting it, but I must say the shoot was great I think I've been watching too much 1N2D, all that smiling and laughing that goes on in there kind of makes me forget he's capable of melancholic expressions too. LOL.

Well, as usual 1N2D is unpredictable. I laughed so hard at the live morning song that my cramps actually went away for a while! Aw, LSG is such a good boy. Notice how he immediately snaps up, hurriedly nods and greets the woman, then vigorously shakes JiWon out of his slumber when he realises that there's a visitor to their base camp. Then he speeds off to try to open the other end of the tent to wake MCM and LSGuen when she moves towards them. Of course this time he remembered to put on his cap to hide his morning hair. I wonder how the woman actually managed to sing the entire song! I would have just started laughing madly at their stunned and sleepy faces.

I'm not sure about you guys, but I thought that the editing towards the end of this episode got a little sloppy again. It was kind of sudden for me, the way they just moved on to the next trip's opening. But the concept for next week's episode looks very interesting. KHD getting left out this time after his countless sabotaging of the others (I mean this in a joking manner, not offensive! I really like KHD, he's a great MC). I like the preppy glasses + jacket look at the end of the episode for LSG. Very huh-dang looking. At least he kept the hat away from the glasses this time, LOL. Looks like a big reunion is in order next week, looking at the trailers. Feel hyped up about it!

This week, the guys are trying to decide who gets the tent and who gets the wilderness for bedtime, bok bull bok style of course. The guys start off with the non word game. For those new to the game, they just have to say 3 nonsense syllables which makes no sense and is not an actual word. The next person takes the last syllable to form another new nonsense word. Anyone who says something remotely like a real word or if someone else manages to somehow make some sense out of the 3 syllables, then the person is out. To cut a long story short, LSG says banggukik and gets time-outed immediately. Well, banggu means to fart in korean. JiWon and Suguen then do a simulation of how the word will make sense. Suguen farts, (thats the banggu part) and JiWon pretends to 'kik' (its just a sound here) and faint. So LSG is the first one out. The guys then continue with the game, but SuGuen calls for timeout suddenly. Turns out that he feels they are repeating the syllables kak and kik too much, which makes things repetitive, with each round taking longer and its harder for them to get a loser anyway. Jiwon points out that KHD likes to use the syllables pong and sam, and that he uses it everytime. So LSGuen goes on to suggest that they should remove the use of the kak, kik and kok during the game. Everyone agrees and they continue. Next KimC says bu ri cchi and gets booted with MCM and LSGuen's explanation. I didn't understand what they were talking about though. Notice here LSG is busy frying up the meat (i think) in the pan. So random. They continue the game again and MCM gets booted out because he uses the syllable kak. He tries to deny it, but gets booted anyway. EJW and LSGuen continue the game. EJW says chal shi dok. I think he figured out that he stepped into the trap LSGuen laid for him the moment he said those three syllables, he was sitting there with his head hung, LOL. Anyway LSGuen's explaination is that when he goes into a restaurant that sells rice cakes and looks at the menu, he orders chal shi's dok (dok means rice cake). Thus LSGuen wins.

After that, MCM volunteers to be the first to eat the sauces. I'm not sure what the sauces are, but what I do know is that one is extremely hot and spicy, while the other is not. And both are red, so they are practically indistinguishable. MCM gets the non-spicy sauce, and so he gets to sleep in the tent. LSG enthusiastically volunteers himself next.
LSG: I'll be the second! I'll be the second one! If number is not (the spicy one), then I'm not so sure about 2, 3, 4 (meaning he suspects those are the spicy ones). For me? I take number 6.
KHD takes charge of preparing the sauce for LSG. Someone starts laughing madly.
LSG: What's wrong? (and he tries to peek)
LSGuen: Don't look at it... If you look at it its going to be harder!
KHD feeds the poor boy the chunk of meat with the hot sauce.
[Finally it starts]
[but...]
[Seung gi starts smiling!]
[The reason behind his smile?]
[This time he bursts out laughing!]
KimC: What are you so happy about? Is it really so good?
[He twists his body]
[Its come...] (the hot sauce they mean)
[His face gradually turns red]
The guys start egging him on at the side, making all sorts of comments.
[And finally..]
LSG: WOAHHHHH!!! (Awwwww~~~ this was really cute. Really cute!!)
The guys start chanting at LSG asking him not to cry. LOL. The poor boy really looked like he was gonna bawl any moment. JiWon commented that LSG's nose was running.
LSG: Quickly, quickly, quickly! I've eaten it all! (sticks out his tongue to prove it.)
KHD: So what!
You see. They didn't specify that if one were to finish the hot sauce they would be spared the wilderness. And so the rather cruel comment from KHD. haha! But anyway LSG keeps asking them to hurry on with everything. I think he kind of lost his sense there for a moment because of the hot sauce. KHD laughs happily and announces LSG being booted out and chosen to sleep in the wilderness. The boy keeps squirming around like he's lost control of himself after the hot sauce.
KHD: Go drink some water!
LSG: Ah, hurry and continue with the game!
[The conclusion...]
The boy sprints off to the tap suddenly and really fast to rinse his mouth.
KHD: Seung Gi yah your nose is running.
LSG: This is no joke, really!
KHD: How about the lemon? How's this in comparison to the lemon?
LSG: It doesn't even come close!
You realise that his voice changes after eating that hot sauce, so I believe it should really be quite hot. Hopefully they don't do this often. Extreme food like this doesn't exactly do wonders for the throat. LSG then starts trying to describe how eating the hot sauce is like. Halfway through he cuts himself off saying "Aye, I really can't talk now." LOL!!
They continue with the game and the rest is easy to understand. Jiwon gets the hot sauce too, and the two kids have to sleep outside. They get MCM's manager to try too, and he ends up competing for water with JiWon. LOL. Next up, the boys muck around with the makeshift outdoor WC, and all of them start to target KHD who's in the makeshift WC. First LSGuen asks KHD if he can join him inside. Of course KHD says it'll be wierd if he does since the space is really small. Then MCM starts pouring water into the tent, and shaking it like a leaf. Meanwhile KHD is left inside screaming NO NO NO!! YOU CAN'T YOU CAN'T YOU CAN'T!!! inside the tent. Seung Gi gets ready, in the meantime, to brush his teeth.
KHD: Seung Gi, it's raining?
LSG: (totally clueless and looking at the sky) What's this?
KHD starts spraying water on poor Seung Gi who screams really loudly.
LSG's captions [Oh great.. so you want to do this?]
[Seung Gi's angry/agitated mode]
LSG starts running around the tent, getting KHD all twisted up in his worries that LSG would do something mad. And LSG tries to unzip the tent's opening, presumably to expose KHD. KHD starts apologising profusely to LSG.

Finally KHD makes it out of the tent, in one piece. HAAHAHA. After which they prepare to sleep, and we see LSG and EJW trying to exterminate the mozzies, which was hilarious. Especially after the staff gave them the mozzie net to keep out the mozzies, and the two of them were trying to get in fast to keep the mozzies out. Ahh, LSG. Soo funny. Oh yes, does anyone know what was written on his black shirt? It was mossaic-ed out. I wonder what was on it. And this is totally random, but his striped pants really look like jailpants out of a comic. Later in the tent, KHS muses about whether the show will be able to celebrate its 2nd birthday, to which MCM says it will come in a flash, while LSGuen says he feels that they'll be able to continue for 40 years. KHD laughs and asks LSGuen how old he is and the guys continue to just chat idly before drifting off to sleep. Next up is the classic live morning song of course.

Ahh, sorry for summarising so much. Really have no time to go into the details. I'll be back with the rest of the stuff tomorrow. maiz - I wonder if LSG is in Thailand for vacation with his family, or maybe there's a cariety program special shooting there?

LSG was on Champagne and Happy Together, but not appearing on other variety programs has been a conscious "less is more" choice made by his managers. If he appears in a lot of variety programs, then he gets pigeon-holed into just being a variety program celebrity, and that hurts his chances of doing dramas and movies. You rarely see drama and movie actors/actresses on variety programs, and when they do, it's BIG news. Even though LSG is not a drama/movie star just yet, they are trying to use the same strategy that drama/movie stars use (no variety show appearances).

MCM has pretty much become a variety star, being in 3 shows with KHD. He says he wants to be a serious actor, but I wonder if PDs will take him seriously when casting serious dramas and movies...

Also, I think that KBS has some sort of deal with LSG because LSG doesn't appear on any MBC or SBS programs (I think we talked about this a long time ago). After the Iljimae fiasco, I think it's safe to say that LSG will not be in a MBC drama any time soon.

eloise - I think I said it before some time ago - you're Korean is AMAZING. That interview you translated - that would have taken me I don't know HOW long...

So great to wake up and see this in the morning! No need to apologize for giving us such a wonderful translation. Are you thinking we would complain about having too much? No way! I laughed so hard through this eppie. It as just frikkin hilarious. Seung Gi was to die for cute eating that piece of meat. Little cruel of course to enjoy his torment, but the way he yell "woahhh!" and squirmed around was so comical and adorable at the same time. Every time he said, "hurry hurry" I just laughed harder. It really must of been incredibly spicy for him to say that. LOL. As for the waking up scene, this has got to be the best waking up scene ever. The shock on everyone of their faces had me and my sister rolling on the floor, especially Mong and LSG. They literaly spazzed out of shock! LOL. Seung Gi is such a good boy isn't he? All flustered, but even waking up he never forgets his manners or his hyungs. Sarangaia, I do agree they did do some funky cutting leading to the next ep at the end, but it does look interesting. The suit and glasses look cute on Seung Gi, but for some reason he looks rather young and kiddie to me. Huh dang too as you said . Still cute. Ahh...so many good bits in this one I'll have to rewatch it a couple more times. My sister and I had some great bonding time watching this together. Thanks again!

o51029: OMG, I was so dead tired last nite until I saw those 1N2D cuts of yours. It woke me up right away. I didn't come up for air for like 30 seconds. Seriously, of all the talk comparing F.O. to 1N2D (well, I can only guess since I haven't watch F.O.), 1N2D has never failed to surprise me. With its craziness, offbeat-ness, out-of-the-blue-ness ... Funnnayyyy. Those PD and crew are so merciless sometimes. hahaha. Thanks for the uploads. Have to see the whole episode today. I did take a sneak peek at the end. Seung Gi looks mighty fine with the formal attire - white shirt/white tie is pretty crisp. The glasses are eccentric - uniquely his style for sure. He's quite into the classic, I notice.

I was hoping that you have a better quality file for that TBS World Body Painting thingy. Guess not. Uhuh, I was like what??? when I saw that title! He didn't quite wowed me with that perf. Politics, managers' decision, station clash, the thingy about banning singers from appearing in shows because they are from stations that are not yours, etc... I agree with you on the concept of variety show. Like in the US, there appeared to be a different aura tied to movie stars vs. K-drama stars vs. variety show regulars vs. singers turned actors, etc.... Yes, high profile A-list Korean movie and even drama stars do not readily appear on variety shows. I think there is a negative preconception against heavily marketing yourselves and your materials on variety shows. Except for musicians, not a lot of bigger stars like variety shows. Especially when some require them to play some sort of games. I think there was a piece on Ent Relay a couple of months back on how stars like to keep some privacy (or mystery) to their image. Going on variety shows often require them to divulge some of their true personalities to the public. Oh, it's ashamed with the Iljimae mishap; cuz I think that MBC dramas are top notched and they have the budget to market their stars. Maybe something will work out for him in the near future.

Guys, Youtube now has a new function. It allows soft subs. Basically, it acts like a GOM player. The uploader imports in the video and subtitle files separately at the time of upload. And Youtube will play both files at the same time. The viewer will see a function on screen that allows him/her to turn on/off the subtitles/caption. So you can see the video with or without the subtitles. I don't think any subbing group will use this since YT requires cuts of 10 minutes for each upload. But I think it may be useful for subbing music stuffs (since many perfs can be <10 minutes). The good thing about this is that I don't have to recode video files with subtitles and hopefully retain the higher quality of the videos. It would also be good when subbing videos of less than optimal quality (.flv for instance). I might try it out with the next subbed music piece. The only bad thing is I cannot manipulate the font. So you may see fonts that are too small or hard to read. Hmmm. Anyway, let me know how you like it if I ever decide to upload something like that.

Can't seem to keep away from here. Thanks bedifferent unnie! Ah, its just the weather I guess. Everyone is falling sick like flies these days thanks to the sudden rain and sun. Oh yes, as for the photos. I went on to his cafe to check it out, you are right, performance at a shopping mall. Its a concert (oh man, they call everything a concert don't they?) at Hyundai Mall (or Hyundai Departmental Store). I couldn't find anything on the mall's official site on the concert though. I have a feeling they got a new editor on 1N2D. I noticed they've been getting quite a few newbies on the show. I guess its all about keeping things fresh and providing the newbies with experience at the same time.

ivey79 unnie We didn't knew eating hot sauce could be such a big joke before this, did we? Agree that the WOAHHH!! was priceless, and his blank expression when he KHD said so what after he finished that piece of meat just cracked me up to no end. I keep playing the waking up scene over and over again and laughing again and again. The writers are brilliant. Just brilliant. Either they are really wacky in real life, or they are really creative.
