사실 진작에 남기고는 싶었지만 첫방때까지 꾹꾹 참았습니다^^.



오늘 긴장속에 첫방송을 봤는데, 아직 멍합니다~

다른 배우님들 드라마는 이게 재밌네~ 이게 아쉽네~

Hey all! It's been a while since I've posted. Been busy and now I'm currently on vacation. Woohoo for rest and relaxation! It's nothing like a good set of Edwin pics to bring me out of lurking. (Thanks Caroline ).. Yet another set of great looking shots. These feel more relaxed and I love how he smiles with his dimples showing in most of them. Keep the clothes Seung Gi, keep the clothes! Although I have to say in the last few eps of 1n2d his clothes have looked really pretty good. Simple basecaps and good jeans. Must be trying to maintain a certain clean cut image with the drama.

Speaking of drama, now that we've had quite a few eps to watch how does everyone feel about Seung Gi's character and acting. I know many of you have posted in the drama thread already, but has he met your expectations? Liking his character? Acting? Clothes? First off I was really really surprised at the ratings. I'm absolutely thrilled it's doing so well. The mid 20's!? I'm thinking people are still in a bit of Boys over Flowers withdrawl and are craving something fun, lighthearted, romantic. So far Seung Gi's character is not much to like and he's being a bit overshadowed by HHJ and the guy who play's Junse (sorry forgot his name). Those two characters are just so likeable and well Hwan is really pretty much a "donkey" right now. But gotta give Seung Gi credit, he feels completely immersed in the character. I believe everybit that he's a jerk. Hee hee, I think he's even brought a bit of it over to 1n2d. I think we're all hoping his character will lighten up soon once he starts facing some challenges and gets involved with HHJ's character. Glad he's not overacting, cause that's always my worst fear, and he's pretty believable. Can't wait for the coming eps. I'm hoping the story line will start to develop more and bring a little more depth the characters and background of Hwan. All in all, the story is pretty lightweight so far, but there feels potental for some good story telling here. Hopefully, this drama and Seung Gi will be something to remember from start to finish.

Clothes? thumbs-up! His clothes are such an improvement compared to 1n2d...although his outfits in 1n2d also has improved a lot lately. But it seems his main accessory for both are scarves...
Liking his character? thumbs-down! In this early episodes, Hwan is such a jerk. I have yet to find someone
who at this stage likes his character....which brings me to your question...
Acting? thumbs-up! I sometimes need to watch an episode of 1n2d or watch one of his stage performance as a reality check since LSG as Hwan acts like his really a "donkey"hole

Took me a long time to find this thread.

Sorry for the absence. Wanted to give Brilliant Legacy a legitimate try before commenting.

Honestly, the first 4 episodes were quite painful for me. I came into the drama with some expectations and unfortunately, a lot of pre-formed ideas of how it will be. The first 4 episodes confirmed for me that it is not an atypical drama plot wise. However, I did find HHJ to be endearing and charming. I think she saved the drama for me. There is something very likeable about all the four leads that as a viewer, I heartily wanted the drama to succeed. By now, at the end of episode 10, it's clear to me that the four characters make the drama.

eloise, Seung Gi did good. He chose the right role. The timing is right and the Hwan character is perfect for him. If he had taken Iljimae a year ago, I think it would have been harder for him. He was less experienced. I don't think he would have been the right person to play that character; even now. Iljimae character is a bit more removed from who he is. It would have been more of a challenge to make the character believable.

I thought Seung Gi made a lot of adjustments as the drama progresses. I was not too swayed by his acting as the bad bad boy Hwan in the beginning of the drama. IDK if he played Hwan as the PD requested or if it was his interpretation. The character did not seem real to me. He slightly overacted. But as the story progresses and Hwan settles down, Seung Gi significantly came into his own. I like Hwan a lot; or at least Seung Gi's characterization of the main lead. There are aspects of the character that are universal in all K-dramas: the cocky attitude, the know-it all, etc... What popped out for me about Hwan is the child/boy-like qualities that really is Seung Gi. That's why the character works for me. I'm not sure where Hwan and BL are going to be like passed E10, I just hope that Seung Gi continues the character the way he is. Hwan has the potential to become one of the more memorable male leads in K-drama.

Acting wise, Seung Gi is natural. He is quite good at utilizing body language in some scenes. 1n2d gave him the confidence in physical comedies and I thought he did well during the comic scenes. He also is good in the more quiet scenes. The look, what he can convey in his eyes, hints of what he can do if is given more challenging materials. I think he has as solid of a start as I could have hoped. He has potential to improve even more if he can find good projects.

It's a good start for Seung Gi guys.
