Should I return my iPod Nano 4GB because of scratches?

I recently got the ipod nano but it has a growing number small scratches all over the body when you look at it at certain angles. It doesn't look that bad yet so I think I might go return it. I still want the iPod though... I just don't want to say that I want to return it and then get a new one without scratches.

I think I might go return it, get my money back and then go to another apple store to rebuy it along with the Agent 18 case! I wish I had that case put on it as soon as it was out of the box.

What should I do?
Is it possible to just tell them "Hey, mine is scratched up. Can I exchange for a new one?"

Help me out!

so your basically saying you were careless enough not to immediantly buy a case for your nano so you scratched it up and now you want to return it and get a new one?

Thats horrible. Try getting a can of brasso to fix the scratches then get a case.

no way would any store take back your nano just because of scratches. unless you were under 15 days return policy or something like that at best buy. like the person before me said, use brasso. but it at home depot or some store like that. its like 5 bucks. also make sure you buy a really good micro fiber cloth. directions for brasso is put alot on micro fiber and than spread it over your nano. and keep on spreading it for like 10 minutes-20minutes depending how deep the scratches are. after that let it dry off. you should also get iklear to clean off all the remainings of brasso. keep on doing this until scratches are gone. you can do your front and back of your ipod.

probably a hardware store. Brasso is supposed to fix small scratches so it should do you fine. Or you can just buy like a nano tube or nano skin. Then you dont have to look at the scratches at all since its covered.

I mean if you want to go ahead and tell apple that yours came scratched, even though most likely they know you're lying, then go ahead.
I wouldnt do it though because i'd feel so dishonest.

I bought my silicon skin before i even got my nano. Then i kept the plastic that came on the nano on the nano and placed it inside

wink.gif hey, I just wiped it with windex and it looks okay. There's like only one scratch that is really noticable so I just got home from buyin the Agent 18. Snapped it on.

Okay, you don't have to worry about me being dishonest now.

Well, I've only had it for a week. That's why I was saying I should return it. The return policy is 14 days.

Oh yes, I heard about that crazy.gif
Anyone who gets it now though is in LUCK!
no why? They updated the Agent 18.

It use to be in 3 pieces. Front, back and bottom. People use to take off the bottom and try to slide it out so it caused scratches. dry.gif

but now, they make it in 2 pieces. Just a front and back and they snap together. So no more worries.

wink.gif

PS: It's a good case. It's tight so no dirt really gets under or anything. When you touch it, it doesn't get finger printy and it also keeps the sexy look of your iPod since it's clear. Thumbs up.

you don't just wipe it off for it to work. It's a polisher so that means you'll have to do quite a bit of work to get the scratches out. What you have to do is apply the brasso and when it starts to haze over you then take a fairly mild abrasive cloth and then make little circular motions on the scratch portions of your ipod until you start to see them disappear. It actually takes quite while for them to start disappearing. Then you wipe it off biggrin.gif

hey that brasso stuff looks like it works. looks like i wouldnt have to worry that much if i get scratches on it.

as for the agent 18 case, i got it like two weeks before i got my nano and i couldnt be any happier with the results. i was super scared that i would scratch my bottom since the botton snaps off. but i carefully wiggled it out (cause i thought i put it on the wrong way) and put it back on. there wasnt any scratches at all. i also kept the plastic covering on the nano that came with it. i just snipped a few off and its looking great.
although that two piece agent 18 sounds great!

i also dropped mine on carpet, it was pretty high too. the momentum of the headphones falling off the edge carried the nano with it. i checked my nano to see if its ok and it was just fine. luvin the agent 18 and my new nano. *hugs both* ^.^
feel free to follow me @

Cheers for the Agent 18! I'm loving mine also. I actually think it makes the nano cooler than it was before it was in the case.
