Rain Gives Up "Rock in Rio" Performance to Keep Promise to Fans

Singer Rain has been planning to advance into the world market. But he has recently
given up a chance to perform at a world-renowned music festival in order to keep a
promise with his fans in Korea.

Rain has been invited to "Rock in Rio," a world-renowned rock music festival in
Portugal to be held from May 26 to June 4, a first for an Asian artist. "Rock in Rio" is
a world-class rock festival attended only by top artists from the U.S. and Britain, as
well as Portugal and Brazil, the original host country of the festival. Rain was invited
to the festival following his solo performance at Madison Square Garden in New
York, another first for an Asian artist.

Rain was supposed to perform at "World Stage," one of the festival's three stages
alongside "Hot Stage" and "Electronic Tent." He was supposed to perform on June 4,
the final day of the festival. But the organizers asked Rain to move the date to May
26, the first day of the festival, with the purpose of having Rain perform with
Shakira and Jamiroquai, whose performing style is similar to that of Rain.

But Rain decided to give up attending "Rock in Rio" after the schedule was changed,
because he believed he would have a very tight schedule for his fan meeting slated
for May 28 in Korea if he attended the festival in Portugal.

An official from Rain's agency, JYP Entertainment, said, "With much attention given to
'Rock in Rio,' Rain had made many preparations. But he could not change his
schedule due to his fan meeting. He wanted to keep his promise with his fans in
Korea." The organizers of "Rock in Rio" expressed regret at Rain's rejection of the
invitation, while expressing the wish to invite him again in 2008 when the next
festival will be held.

"Rock in Rio" started in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1985. Since then, four such festivals
have been held until 2004. "Rock in Rio" has been loved by many fans around the
world, as it is a festival where top-notch musicians, such as Sting, Prince, George
Michael, Britney Spears and N Sync, have performed.

So weird calling Bi fat o____O It's okay though.. he loses and gains fast (for some weird reason)

I find it funnie how fans say they don't mind him gaining weight as long as he is happy and healthy but then when it happens they're like "slow down" haha..

I don't see anything fat in Bi. If he has even a tiny belly, then he has really gained fat and not muscles. Since I don't see any slight protrusion under his wifebeater, I can't see the fat people are talking about.

Accept the fact that it will only keep on RAINING.

You know, he once shared his dieting tips with the Japanese crew while he was there for one of him promo...Sad Tango, I think. His tip is to avoid carbohydrate and go for fish and chicken breast only. The crew said it works well...

Our boy is indeed getting heavier... I saw his latest TIME100 celebration piccies in JYPE just yesterday....those piccies should only what... two three weeks old? He was actually looking slim in them, how in such short time he's getting chunkier

Is he still shooting Cyborg btw, since he has been having lots of extra works lately outside Cyborg. Is it possible he's been told to gain weight for his role in Cyborg? Stealing people souls are not good for your waistline maybe?

Bam, can you give me the direct link to that ING clip you mentioned?

Today I went to do my grocery to the Upper West Side supermarket in Manhatten and found that some FM is broadcasting Rain's song " Just Once" there. I was trilled and happy to listen to him. Glad that americans are getting to know Rain.

But "Just Once" is not Rain's song, and yeah he does sounds like the original singer James Ingram.
I believe the American will broadcast the one sang by Ingram and not Rain.

I guess Bi is currently immersing himself in Japanese coz his Japan trip is coming up soon.

That's what happen when you become a megastar - Bi is now a megastar, people forgive megastar.
To see him onstage is already a "BIG" deal for some - since he's so busy and seldom appear in performance.
I would forgive him anytime. A genuine smile from him enuff to make me overlook his fat belly (heheh.. full belly?)

sooo big now. It's like you would be out of trend.

whoa! I just been out for a day and there's so many backlogs! more news about bi too...

RiR - i felt sad he will not be able to attend.but i guess he has his reasons..and I trust Bi's judegement on that. I am sure better opportunities will come his way...I guess he just felt he needed to meet his fans..

his latest pics - yup! i agree...he gained some weight..but i don't think he is fat...in fact he is still oohhh sooo HOTTT!!! LOL . . .

bi& SHk house is really not 100 meters away ?? - huhuhu...well, but I think the distance might not be that near, but..it's still is in the same vicinity...and that's something already . . .

the freeway thingy is cute! i agree! his hairstyle is quite dorky...but i am loving it still..[color=#009900]
