hi all!!

I am soooooooooo excited that Rain is officially back!!
I have been waiting for this, for such a long time!!!!!!!!!!!
I thought he was gonna make a comeback last yr, around Oct., but because of Ijuksa, no comeback.
SO FINALLLYYY.....THIS OCTOBER, HE HAS MADE HIS COMEBACK!!!!!!

Rain looks hot is his new short hair cut. It is really a change from his longer style. Very refreshing!!!!

I have a quick question on the recent files of Rain thats on clubbox
from sexybi's cb, i saw something like this:

Bi-Im Coming Showcase (2006.10.14 - HDTV - Rosejin - FullVersion).avi 700 mb

Is the above, the same thing as the "SBS Special Concert - Rain's Coming"?
Because i was reading the back logs, and saw ppl talk about both the showcase and the special concert?

And on the title song, I'm Coming, sure, i agree with some of you that says its not really Rain's old style, or Korean pop style in general, but, since Rain is aiming for the American market, i guess it only makes sense to test out his new direction for music on his Korean fans first, and see how well ppl receives it.

I do miss the Escaping from the Sun days, and You know (Al-myun-suh) days but Rain gotta keep reinventing himself, even if it means becoming more American mainstream. It may seem like he is ditching his Korean/older style for the the mass marketing scheme, but i think soon enough, we will see some old "Bi" stuff mixed in with his current style. Hey, this is a good thing right? It'll keep us on our toes smile.gif

I dont get why but is this a joke; originality in the music industry died in the experimental 70s since which we are treated to rehashed, re-vamped, diluted and re-introduced variations of the same sound What happened to the Latin invasion anyhow, didnt it also die out with the 90s?

Having just seen Rains showcase special and listened to his new album I wanted to comment and perhaps express my opinion also should anyone care to read it that is; I did not watch his performance and want to gag at the euphoria of the fact that I felt he was another someone trying to enter the American market with rip-off moves and tunes, so to speak!
Who is Justin Timberlake and Usher when they are not incorporating Michael Jackson into their music and stage performances, who is Michael Jackson when he is not incorporating James Brown and Stevie Wonder and the like into his performances and music, wake-up folks, that is what the music industry does, it takes from the so-called masters and elaborates on it, making it their own.

Rain grabbing his crouch is not offensive nor is it paying homage to hardcore hip-hop artists, its sexy and is sexual and he does it strikingly well *winks* to me and the added bonus is that yes sex sells. Its dramatic

Who said that every time he steps on stage he has to show the world how original he can be? Hes doing an age old recipe that made Madonna the entrepreneur that she is, why then is Madonna not scrutinized and expected to represent everything new and American every time she steps on stage, why is there an under-belly political backlash whenever he seems to take the stage? He performs well, with charisma and confidence and his stage shows are majestic in style with imaginative visual effects, classy wardrobe attire and choreography and he sounds good live, all the right ingredients for a good show. He has a sincerity, cockiness, sadness and smoothness that seem to captivate his audience and yes to me he has an international flavor in his packaging. He does not however have an American flag tattooed on his forehead, or butt; not that Im aware of anyway. A hair-cut is a hair-cut; a jacket is a jacket so please folks take it for what it is; A talented artist on the contrary to his nationality whom is aiming for the highest goal in his particular market, which musically is the US, Europe and Japan! So what if you catch glimpses of MJ, Usher or whoever in his persona I dont think anyone gave a damn when Beyonce strutted around imitating Tina Turner. At the end of the day I think hes talented and immensely ambitious, but what the hell thats my personal perception =)

I just watched Bi's MusicCore and Inkigayo comeback specials and I don't have as detailed comments as everybody else does, but the only thing that I was really thinking si that it seems like Bi is trying to bring back the fashion style of K-pop in the 90s, with the puffy jackets, the sweat pants, the interesting color matches, the HUGE sunglasses.

I had a good giggle and shudder thinking about that. hahahahah

About as long as it took you to write; wow how long did it take you to write all that?
Except maybe a little longer if you include the fact that I had to think really hard before I added the question mark to the sentence! tongue.gif ...

Yesh, almost all artists are copying American standards. That is my point. No originality. Remember back in 1999 in US? The Latino invasion? They didn't copy anybody's style, or at least not to my memory. They brought their own culture to the American industry. So, now, Bi, a Korean, is bring an American-Korean version to the US? We [americans] accept Bi right now because he's just like a Justin Timberlake, actually, not even a Justin Timberlake 'cause this guy actually writes and produces his own songs. I think Bi is another Usher type, not Usher [he writes his own songs too] wannabe. No matter what people really say, his hip-hop/R&B style is nothing new; I think we've all seen it before. I prefer Bi to go into ballad 'cause his voice is such a waste for crappy songs like "I'm Coming."

Of course everyone likes the "humping and thumping." We are all horny people, that's why sex really sells. Front row and your favorite artist has his shirt off and water is pouring on him, oh yeah, it's a strip show. I'd pay $100 to get in, but the price went up huh?

Talking about Latino invasion the US in 1999: it's very easy to understand why Latino musics have been very easy accepted by most Americans, even myself linving in America now .... Do you know that more than 30% of Americans nowadays can talk Latino-Spanish fluently ? And do you know that many American-Mexicans latino people now even claim States like New mexico, California, Texas were belong to them in the old times and want to take them back? I live in America and many many jobs I want to get always prefer you can talk both English and Spanish latino languages in order to be the top hired and get the jobs . I even can listening to Latino musics on many radio and TV channels so I cannot even ignore it at all, reject it or love it that's only 2 choices you make . Latino dance styles and their musics are also part of American culture, and I love it. Even My niece is only a 5 years old asian-american but she can count from1 to 10 and can say from Monday to Sunday in Spanish with no accents. She loves latino catoon, musics and latino dance styles too. I also heard many Caucasian-Americans complains that their kids so much into latino-american catoons and music .For years millions of Americans love the dance styles and latino musics not just to the year of 1999, so you were completely wrong!

I feel the same way

I'm new here, but I like the thread
glad to see remarks with high quality

Sometimes I just try to ignore what antis say about Bi
They always critisize him for some ridiculous reasons
Maybe they're jealous of his high popularity in Asian media(compared to other korean solo singer)
or maybe they enjoy the feeling of hating someone...I don't know

Anyway, the 4th album is awesome!!
gonna have one in my head a few days later biggrin.gif

1999 is when Latino music exploded. It became world wide. And yes, I do know the history. Are you kidding me about the ONLY 2 music choices you can listen to? really?

in 1999, Ricky Martin, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony, Enrique Iglesis--these people brought the Latino invasion--meaning this is when a majority of OTHER states take notice, not only CA, New Mexico. You do know that only a few states have Latinos as majority or close to majority, right?

The reason I say Bi doesnt' have originality is because you need something different to be looked at, or at least that's my ideal thinking. If Bi wants to be remembered, he must bring something fresh to the table or else he's just going to be forgotten after one single in the US.

Michael Jackson--isn't he famous for his moon walk and his voice? Did he copy that move from someone? Beyonce is amazing, but she stands out because of her music and yeah, the way she dances nowadays too sweatingbullets.gif I think I shouldn't even mention these american artists with Bi b/c they write and produce their songs, so they are in a different category. I have my doubts in Bi making it "big" b/c he's just like other artists in the US right now. They can dance, sing. That's it. I guess charisma plays a HUGE part, but we'll see how far it takes.

Latinos dying in American music? no way. Ever heard of Shakira?

^I simply do not have the energy to reiterate my point here because it seems you have totally missed it and with all sincerity I do not feel it necessary to elaborate on. You nit-picking points that I could care less about is infuriating, MJ being famous for a moon-walk and Shakira representing your ideology of an entire Latin invasion has me stupefied beyond a good debate.

I felt my comments were, upon reflection quite neutral and I always adore reading and listening to other peoples opinions, heck Ill even bow, agree and explore my original statements if I genuinely felt that a persons opinion moved me enough to, yep I can be that fickle; however I do not feel that your points are nor do I feel your debate plausible enough to continue dissecting. So alas we shall have to agree to disagree =)

Xena,
I adore reading your post and witty comments.

I just need to ask what does a korean entertainer need to do or show
the US market for him to be able to "Fit" or to make it in U.S?

yeah, when people argue, the one that doesn't have anything more to say usually calls it "neutral." eh~ don't reply...you're gonna make me think you care. Hey, all ya Bi fans can't even take a criticism or a disappointment from your favorite artist. What's up with giving a person all this glory like he's a god? People say they're open to criticisms but when the criticisms actually come, eh~ rocks are thrown.

He's already famous in America and he has not even step into America yet... becuss he has fans like us.

I'm just happy that he is coming to the US market and win or lose WE FAN will always LOVE him...

I've just download his album and have not even listen to it yet... but I'm still going to buy it and support him.

Anywayyyyssss...

I listened to the whole album now and personally, I really like it. I really love the beat to most of the songs. They're very catchy. Listening to the songs and watching bits of the showcase make me all the more excited to see him in December. I can't wait!

As far as him entering the US market, I sincerely hope he makes it big here. Even if he doesn't, I'll still support him no matter what. After all he's achieved up til now, I definitely respect him as an artist, actor, overall entertainer. It's really incredible to see how all his hard work and efforts got him to where he is now. People can say what they want about him, but that won't change my opinion of him. There will always be people who don't care for him or bash him, but stay strong, Bi-ers!

I was just watching this clip a few minutes ago to cheer me up. I think I've shared this before but just in case you haven't seen it:
Tony An Impersonating Rain - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hEBgkROxQNY.
Really hilarious. The first time I watched it, I couldn't stop laughing.

when's he breaking into american market.. is jyp marketing him towards the asian americans? cuz not to be pessimistic.. but the "white ppl and black ppl" prob won't feel his music since they already have usher, omarion, justin timberlake...etc. in my opinion is better than rain but THIS DOESN:T MEAN I AM PUTTING HIM DOWN
