I do like his hair.. I didn't even think that he was trying to be "american" by cutting it short. I think he just wanted a change/to look different.
But I also think his music is greatly influnced by the american music, but like Bambiina had mentioned, what asian artist isn't? especially in the R&B and Hip hop genres. A lot of the (korean) artist I listen to mentions that his "idols" are american singers. I don't really care if he's being influenced by american music. I think kpop in general is influenced by american music, and that's probably why I like kpop more so than other asian music. lol is this weird? I like american influenced music, but i don't listen to any american music (well not much)

I read an article about one of his interviews and when asked why he cut his hair he said he just wanted to look younger. Hihih:) I'm so loving the short hair.

Rain enjoys bumper harvest in his music and movie career.Other than good sales figure of <Rain's World>, his debut movie <I'm Cyborg but it's okay> is going to be shown in USA!

According to JYPE, singer RAIN will enter overseas markets through his actor identity, and the first target is USA.

Through his personal official website, Rain announced his debut movie <I'm Cyborg> will be shown in this coming December, and he's quite nervous about it. "I've spent lots of time and efforts to do my best in this movie... I hope to interpret an uncommon style (refers to this movie) through my own understanding..." later he added on, "Through this movie, I decided to enter USA as an actor. My world tour schedule is quite full until May 2007. Most probably I may not attend the movie premiere in December... whereas my next movie will be delayed until my concerts are over..."

Rain's manager indicated that "Rain's acting skill is generally recognised. Yet he still took it very seriously when filming this movie. Even though it's a simple action, Rain will discuss with director beforehand. This movie is getting more and more concerns, and we are confident that it won't disappoint everybody...."

Rain shall start his world tour in mid of December, on the other hand <I'm Cyborg but it's okay> is shown on Dec 7, 2006 in S. Korea.

Kyunghee University announced the award presentation to RAIN, with regards to his nomination as "TIME100 Most Influential People" as well as his publicity on Kyunghee spirit.

Rain graduated from his major Post Modern Music and obtained his degree in early 2006..... (skipped non-related...)....

The award presentation shall be held at Renaissance Hall, Kyunghee Univeristy on Oct 20.

Many film producers from Hollywood expressed their interest in RAIN, during the 11th Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF). Rain's entertainment managing company, JYPE had set up booth to publicise RAIN to foreign film producers, as a multi-talented artist. These Hollywood film maker showed greater interest when they knew that Rain is the male lead in director Park's latest movie.

The fact of "Singer RAIN has never rested for one day after his debut album!"

Manager Jeong from JYPE, was talking about Rain's life after the official release of his debut. He was invited to give speech in special seminar at Pusan International Film Festival (PIFF), in which he discussed about the system and how super stars are created.

"Rain started his artist life in 2002 with <Bad Guy>, and his acting skill is growing together with his music career. He never rests... Until now, he's still busying around for his upcoming world tour, his music career and debut movie <I'm Cyborg, but it's ok>...." Mr Jeong said.

"(Singer) Park Jinyoung never told Rain about practices, but he kept encouraging Rain to be hardworking... And Rain himself always puts in efforts endlessly..."

Mr Jeong also added, "Rain has been staying in this industry for some time... Yet in fact, he will easily get hurt at certain moment due to his super star identity... He mentioned that many singers were neglected because the term 'Hallyu symbol' always refers to him... Rain's strength comes from his multi-talents in artistry. He is preparing diligently to surpass Asia in order to step into USA... "

Rain actually mentioned Vegas, not LA.
Officially confirmed US concert is ONLY the Vegas, for 12/23 and 12/24.

There is a chance for an encore concert if the vegas concert be done successfully.
Rain mentioned this in one radio show I can't recall of, he said, 'I'm very happy how it is turning out with the vegas concert ticket selling, and so am even considering for one more 'encore' concert in the states.'
He had not specifically mentioned where or when.
And it is still a 'consideration.'

I just hope the vegas concert be a huge success.

Rain to Meet with U.N. Secretary General-elect Ban Ki-moon

Pan-Asian star Rain will hold a meeting with the 8th U.N. Secretary-General-elect Ban Ki-moon on October 28 in North Chungcheong Province at an event congratulating Ban for his election.

Before performing in a congratulatory concert, the singer will meet with Ban for about 20 minutes so the two can thank and congratulate each other on their respective achievements in raising Korea�s status in the international community.

Rain, whose fourth album sends a message of world peace, said he will be honored to meet with Ban, whose new post will endow him with the ability to realize the goal of attaining world peace.

On October 29, Park Jin-young, who is Rain�s producer and the CEO of his agency, will represent Asia at the U.N. Youth Leadership Summit in New York.

The meeting between Rain, who in February was selected by the U.S. magazine Time as one of the 100 most influential people in the world, and Ban, who won a unanimous vote to take the post of U.N. secretary general, will represent a ray of hope for Korea�s future.

Organized by Gyohyeon Elementary School, Chungju Secondary School and Chungju High School, Ban�s alma maters, and the Chungju municipal government, the event will be attended by some 10,000 Chungjju residents and heads of local government offices. The congratulatory concert will be broadcast live by local cable broadcaster HCN. The pre-recorded version of the concert will go on the air in China, Japan, Taiwan and the Philippines.

Did anyone hear his 4th album??

I just did.... maybe it was because of my high expectations, but was anyone else honestly disappointed?? His songs were always americanized, but it seems more apparent in this 4th album... more than half of songs reminded me of an american song. Didn't k-pop singers learn after what happened to Hyori? His voice also deteriorated, its not as good as it was in his 3rd album... I think that even though he had like a two year break in between his albums, he was so busy with concerts and stuff in other countries, and I can tell he didn't put as much effort into this album as he did with his other ones.... Hopefully he's have new, hot dance moves to make up for it.

i actually expected rain's world to turnout just normal but it came out to be a BOOM to me!!!
wow!!! i felt that his singing has improved compared to it's raining and the songs are catchy. unlike the other songs in his other albums, the songs here are soooooo lovable that when you hear it you just want to hear it again! we should not compare with previous albums cause as he said he wanted to get out of previous images and create new ones!!! all of the songs in this albums are good unlike the other albums which had extreme ends!
but I'm coming is really too clubby but then it is great with visuals with him dancing!!!
in the first place, why do you have high expectations?
we all know that rain is already trying his best! havent you seem how skinny he is now! is like he has been training hard i mean real hard for this album!
even by his efforts we can already how good the album will turn out to be!

I am thinking of buying his Rainy Day concert DVD and I want to get the Korean DVD but I was thinking maybe the HK Deluxe DVD might have better subs because it's from HK.

Anyone know if the subs are the same? Or is one better than the other?

i just saw his world tour concert for singapore advertisement in the morning paper ...the ticket price is so ridiculous expensive....it goes as high as SGD $488 ...hahah i can get a 3 day holiday packeage to Bangkok with that kind of money....i wonder if Spore fans would want to pay that kind of money just to watch Rain concert....???
