Some news about Rain's Taiwan concert and the ticket sales from Taipei Times:

Rain has come

'Asia's king of pop' has been trying to pump some life into flagging sales for his concert today at the Taoyuan County Stadium. Rain came prematurely to Taiwan because ticket sales for his concert today in Taoyuan (桃園) have been slow. What should have been a quick in-and-out has become a promotional slog for "Asia's king of pop."
Though just 25,000 tickets were on offer at the 35,000-seater Taoyuan County Stadium (桃園縣立體育場) for the "Rain's Coming" world tour of 17 cities in 11 countries, local organizers were not feeling the love. In comparison, tickets for Rain's 2005 tour sold out as soon as they became available.

Hence, Rain's personalized jet arrived a day earlier than expected on Thursday. The plane has a picture of the South Korean idol, with wings, wrapped around the tail. The image is strikingly similar to the mythical Icarus, but the symbolism is probably lost on all concerned. The same day he checked into the Grand Hotel (圓山飯店), Rain was asked to perform at a press conference. Some fans tried to get in for an audience with their hero but meekly gave up the quest when a small security detail told them to go away. There was no screaming or fainting and no groupies, either. It was a little disappointing.

Possibly the most enthusiastic fan was Aiko Moriguchi from Japan, who managed to get into the press conference as her tour group had access privileges to Rain in its package deal. The senior manager at a trading company in Hong Kong has seen five Rain concerts in the past two years. "I was on vacation so I took my chance and came here," she said in a combination of English, Chinese and Japanese. "He's so sexy, his personality, the way he talks, sings and dances. He's so shiny."

Rain's star power may have reached it's apex.
Is this report suggesting that Rain's popularity is going downhill? He's even more popular than the whole Asian Film Awards show itself, and this is what they're saying? I might as well end it with one of Rain's quotes on the first page of this thread:

In regards to the sale of the concert, if i m not wrong, I m coming concert tour havent been really doing so well as compared the Rainy Day concert.. 1st, would b the price, some plcs the prices are really ex but i would think the main ting will b the dates of the concerts,.most of the concerts are too near each other, abt 1 week after another.. unlike Rainy day where the concert dates were spaced out around 1 - 2mths in between. That gives the fans some time to save some for the next concert...

If u look at the dates for I m coming concerts, the dates are really quite close. Really diff for fans to have so many money in hand n not to mention leave for working fans...

the reason why they say the taiwan concert was disappointing is because of the ticket sales, not the PERFORMANCE( except the fact that the fire almost killed someone)
as a RAIN fan, i would go for all the nights if there is. like last year's concert, there was 2 days and there was 10 000 each night. so i say 80% of the fans would have gone for the 2 nights. but they year they had only 1 night with 26500 tickets... isnt that two much for 1 night???
furthurmore, his drama fans would have gone too last year. but this year, if they stopped liking his drama then obviously they would not go for the concert...
THE PRICE MATTERS TOO!!!but i have gotten used to it. rain's coming's performance is more like the kind that you would enjoy and scream at his dance moves and special effect. rainy day is like a flash. too quick and you cant enjoy well. sorry but his singing during rainy days was pretty bad. but he had PERFECT SINGING during rain's coming. that was totally worth the price!!! he didnt even pant unless when he was talking!!! though i have never experience a rainy day before but watching the DVD is enough. i felt the performance there was not up to standard. but i liked how touching it was. it was a home grown concert. his mum and him. but rain's coming would make you fall for him. HOT DANCING. HOT SINGING. HOT BODY. HOT STAGE!!!he showed his talent in rain's coming. but going for rainy day makes you sometimes feel that he is "errr... what's wrong?" probably first concert's impression is always deeper.

my vote goes to RAIN's COMING! and i have to witness it again!!! Thailand, i might be coming if i can get the tickets!!! my whole family would be!!!
