Anyway... maybe Time Mag should've done it like last year when they grouped the nominees into categories they most fit in. Rain was in the artists and entertainers list, along with Ang Lee, Daddy Yankee, Jon Stewart, etc. Bono and Oprah are in another list (Movers and Thinkers, IIRC). With this current system that they have, everybody is lumped together that people get confused as to what the poll really is all about. I honestly think Rain is getting unfairly compared and judged this time.

Does singers mean that they are less influential than presidents or anything? As a president like George B. Washington, he is entrusted the power to help his country (ya, by bombing Iraq) when there are heaps of ppl who disagrees with his actions. Singers like Beyounce Knowles, Timberlake, they are not entrusted the power from anyone except their fans to produce good albums that will make hits. Singers are in a way at disadvantage. But they do get the recognition from ppl. Who doesnt know "sexyback"?... but who actually likes it? After hearing once of twice, you will be like "cool song" but after 10 times, you will be like "no more pls!" Singers who actually tries to combine music together are the ones who are great.

I will continue to vote for him crazily! Because singers are powerless without their fans! I dont want him to be powerless!

Okay, let's talk about how Rain has become influential not just to ourselves but for the rest of humanity. After all, the poll is not on who you think has influenced you the most, but the whole world in general.

Rain has become a strong influence to other singers. They're now branching out to other talents -- not just singing -- like the entertainers in Vietnam. He's a strong influence to kids aspiring to be singers as well. (Bush, as much as I hate him, is probably one of the most influential ever.. if he ever decides to start warfare on any country, we are all going to be affected, the whole world that is, because everyone will start taking sides. That's probably why a lot of people get mad at him. His policies can influence so many things in our lives.)

Talking about how influential he is, we heard that one of Thai fans who suffered for the last period of cancer will try her best to last until his BKK concert. She will live until she met Bi. He's the inspiration for her life somehow. It's touching.

we can also add that the proceeds from his wristbands are going towards children being affected by AIDS. and i remember he donated a large sum to the hurricane in.. phuket? and rain was part of a fundraising concert with kelly clarkson, vanness wu, jay chou, namie amuro... and other entertainners who werent asian.
he is also a great example of following a dream. hes worked so hard and never gave up, despite all the setbacks.

Bi #1? I don't think so. I think Oprah/Bono/Steve Spangler deserve it more than him. They've dedicated their lives to actually helping people out. He doesn't have to be number one, this isn't a popularity contest. Sorry, I just want everyone to vote from their hearts and decide which has greatly influenced the world for that matter.

I sincerely apologize in advance for saying this, but I think "rank" doesn't matter at all at Time100. The editors have already made up their mind on who to include there. They're just asking for the readers' opinions but the end result would still be based on their judgment. At least, that's how I understood what was written on the website.

I don't understand this obsession to make Rain No. 1 in that list. Just being part of the 100 for the second year in a row is more than enough honor for him. But if rank really matters, I honestly think other people are more deserving to be in the Top 5.

i agree with some of you on here. i voted for him already and am not going to obsessively vote for rain to just make him no. 1. imo, its already a big accomplishment for rain that time has chosen him again as a candidate for time 100 out of the hundreds and hundreds of entertainers throughout the world. i mean, getting this recognition from time mag two years in a row and being chosen in 2006 is huge alone by itself already considering that he hasn't even officially debuted in america yet. however, as much as i love rain, i don't see how anything that he has done since last year of being chosen to now that really qualifies him as influential.

i am one of rain's biggest fans and as much as i want him to be recognised also globally, admittedly i only voted for him a couple of times. i just dont see the point why everyone has to vote thousands of times when its not even a popularity contest! i can just imagine what the other people around the world are thinking.....cant you?!

RAIN has changed my life. I have never admired anyone before I met him in 'RAIN's coming'. I vote for him and leave my commet why I choose him because I hope RAIN is the number 1 in list. I know "rank" is not the last decison. The list depends on the judemetn , but I still vote for him couple minute. This is a necessary things which I can do for him. I want all of the world to remember him , especially American will have strong impression .
