Remember, there were 200 candidates that we have to choose from. Time has probably decided who gets in or not, since they were already sending out invitations even before the poll, but they want to know who the public, most probably Time readers, think deserve to be part of the 100. That's why anyone can vote at any time, because the results would only slightly affect their decisions.
Rain got an invitation saying he's an alumnus, but not saying he's part of the 100 this time. Maybe Time would change their minds and include Rain on the list because of the poll results, but right now we don't know if he made it or not.
So we're really really really crossing our fingers here, even if the chances are just very slim. Only about 20 people were listed twice/thrice since Time began this (mostly reknowned politicians/inventors - see Time 100 at Wiki), so umm..yeah..I'm just saying that we should not expect too much, because we might be disappointed.. :)

Time would be stupid to not let him on the list after this turnout. And Time isn't stupid
Yeah, but.... about half of those 400,000+ votes are votes AGAINST Rain.
I am hoping, of course, that Time would still change their mind and include him, but I agree with Shaister. Let's not expect too much yet until we see the final and official list.

i really really hope Rain will make it on the list as number 1. since he's planning to debut in the US .. this will be very good exposer for him. people that doesn't know him will definitely know him if he top this list. and people that think he's not all THAT great will definitely think otherwise. so far .. this is a very good year for Rain. he won an award, got picked for People's 100 most beautiful people, is on a successful tour .. everything is perfect. aja aja fighting Rain :]
fatgrrl slim - don't you think that's just an assumption of yours? yeah .. Rain has a lot of anti and some of his antis can be seen through the comments on Time .. however there are many out there that truly admire Rain and look up to him. so let's think positive, and think without second guessing ourselves that the majority of the vote came from people that believes he's influential.

That's not my assumption. Didn't some of us here have complained about how the number of Rain's votes was rising but his rating is getting lower?
I'm not being pessimistic here. I'm keeping it real.

Thanks for keeping it real, as you would say.
Those multiple votes against him are just a testament of how influential he really is. He influenced a movement of people to vote him down, and much to their dismay we rose him back up to the top.
Unless someone here works for Time, and handles the list and knows how it works, then no one will know for sure until its announced. My optimism is good as any others pessimism at this point.

Rain shows his incredible box office influence even he is considered as a 'newbie' for Tokyo Dome.
After a simple news release on March 18, the pre-ordering started in the next day. According to the ticketing response, nearly 50% tickets were sold out. Fans from Japan, China, Thailand, Hong Kong etc are coming to this concert as well.
From this trend, this can be a sold-out concert when the ticket selling is officially open to public on May 13. All the tickets cost JPY12,000 and the audience can choose the areas they want. Whereas the seats will be determined by balloting.
There are 40,000 tickets in total. Compared to Arashi's recent concert that accomodated 55,000 audience, Rain's concert has to cut down the number of audience due to the unique stage design. SM representative said, "The stage at Tokyo Dome can exactly fit into Rain's world tour requirement. We have to empty some spaces for those special effects."
More and more details are released since the concert date is nearer.
The organisers are confident with Rain, thus they choose Tokyo Dome for Rain's Japan concert, although it's not that easy for local artists to perform there. The daily rental of Tokyo Dome costs 540 million Won, whereas the total profit from ticket selling is about 3.7 billion Won.
It is said that many Japanese super stars will attend this concert, too. "The namelist is under progress so we're not able to tell now. We're aware that these artists mention about their interest in Rain's concert during TV programmes."

Actually if you notice the ratings. I believe there are people tried to pull down Stephen Colbert to 2nd place. Same thing goes with Rain. He was #1 for some time then being pulled down by the antis. The votes were given by both fans and antis.

hi edward, both strawberry (posting ref #2820) and echan (posting ref #2842) have provided the eng translation for the chinese news that Jinlees posted earlier.
Jinlees normally help us by posting interesting articles from other forums and we do have some active biers that will do the translating work. We hope for your patience on this matter cos we may not be able to work on the article right away but we will definitely try to push out the eng text within the next few days
Much appreciated...

I'm not being pessimistic here. I'm keeping it real.
It's absolutely assumption...you cant know who voted him down or who voted to push him up because if half of total votes were against him and put his score to 0 and half of them were voting 100 so the exact score of his should have been 50, not 80.
And 80 points ? what does it mean ? it means most of vote were to take him to the blue sky. Not against him. You should stop talking deduction..
