AnimeNgel, that's weird that the Wild Saurian would just target you. I would guess that would mean you tried to attack it before and now it's set on aggro (the green life bar is red for aggro monsters). I'd suggest you press R2 and just flee for your life, in that case. xD

Ohhh, and the battle system is really quite fun. I like to sit back and watch the characters do everything for me. xD~

I was wondering if there was any way to make the battle system work so that I wont have to wait for that bar to fill? I hate that T.T

I feel SO ashamed to ask this too but...
does anyone else have trouble beating the tomato thing that the guy sent you to kill?? T_T I just cant beat it LOL..I hate myself for this -__- I mean I beat FFX in like 2 weeks and I cant even beat one of the really early missons in this game >.< its so shameful lol...

there are augments you can put LPs into so you can attack more frequently. I believe the License is called "Swiftness"

and aother thing! the flee button R2..what good does it do when the monsters just chase me??? all i see is the word Fleeing and I start to run and they come after me~

The monsters [usually] chase you if you flee but your characters won't be there pulling out their weapons trying to fight it while you're trying to make them run. With the flee button, the characters you're not controlling will run with you and not stop to attack monsters.

If at all possible, don't start over. xD But if you're fighting the Rogue Tomato you're still pretty early in the game so if it's really killing you and you cannot avoid it, I guess restarting might be the better option. Next time, don't provoke it. xD~

how do quickening work/obtain quickening?

The quickenings are at the end of the license board and you can get them by getting licenses for things in their direction and then activating it once you see the option to. They cost 50 LP each and there are 15(?) quickening spots on the board. Once one of your characters activate a certain quickening tile, that same tile will change into regular tiles for the other characters. Go in the direction you want your characters to evolve into when getting quickenings to make most of your LP, I guess. xD

You need full MP for just one of your characters to start a quickening attack. You can chain the quickenings and make them stronger by pressing certain buttons to start the quickenings of your other current party members (assuming they all have quickenings) and then using the crapshoot R2 to shift in hopes of getting lucky.

It's a bit confusing for me to explain (and it took me a few tries to really get it) but it's quite easy once you understand it. The sooner you get the hang of quickenings and use em the better because apparently they become quite useless near the end of the game. They're wicked strong in the beginning though (they can obliterate some early bosses in no time).

anyway, i attacked the stupid dinosaur the first time and i died instantly too. this was after i beat rogue tomato and stole a bunch of items and got to lvl 2 too lol. i stole a broadsword the first time and now i haven't been able to get it back =/
i'm still kinda wary about the license board because i feel like i'll waste points on something. it reminds me of the damn talent points in WoW except you can't reset them lol(you can't, right?). anyway i guess i'm hunting the 2nd monster now. is it hard?

AFAIK, you can't reset points. You can max out the board however so if you mess up, just save up for whatever skill/augment/etc. it was you wanted in the first place. xD And plan ahead which direction you want to go to. Also, don't use LP points on skills or spells you don't have yet. Obtain it first and then license it (work on augments if you must).

What was the 2nd hunt? Was it that big wolf mob? Thextera or something? No, not hard... just make sure you take a party along because I don't think Vaan can beat him alone.

right now, my 3 main (fran, ashe, vaan) are level 53-54
while the other three are 10-14 (i never use them)
I'm wondering if you NEED everyone to have at least some levels? or can u just stick with 3 the whole game (though I'm pretty much at the end)

I got my highest quickening yesterday with a 9 or 10 hit combo.. and got a crazy finishing "Torrent" Spell lol

^ My guess is somewhere later on in the game, 3 characters alone won't be able to defeat a boss *shrugs*. But then again you're at level 50+ so I assume you are nearing the end and maybe 3 is all you need.

My Penelo almost never sees the light of day, and she's my white mage. I just don't find her particularly useful so she's still level 11 while my main 3 characters are almost level 20. I also don't use Balthier much or Fran... I'm getting along fine so far without them but I'm trying to get them some levels as they may make really hard boss fights easier. Or they may force me to use a certain character for say, their storyline. xD

right now i have 1 of my low level guys in the main group to level him up to be closer in level than i switch b.c i have that feeling where i will need all 6 and i dont be like dummy and not do something like this

one of the conditions to obtaining a sky den figurine is having the average party level of 50+

i'm assuming it's not necessary to have all your characters at the same levels.

Wow after reading some of your comments, you guys are way ahead of me -__-, I just got out of Estersand and now back in Rabanastre. My characters (Vaan, Balthier, and Fran) are around level 10...So is this the first "traditional" Final Fantasy where unused characters won't level up with the main party?

god i dont know if its a good idea to level up all my characters or focus on 3.. i got the dawn shard not too long ago and went on a few hunts here and there. i have a lvl 19, two lvl 18, two lvl 17 and one level 16.
someone tell me if i should just stick with 3 characters (by using only 3..i am afraid that if 1 or 2 of them die in the middle of a heated battle i might not have the chance to bring them back and will be forced to use the weaker, untrained characters).

oh and also.. anyone bought the blood sword yet? in the description it said 'on hit: sap' what exactly does that mean?

I'm taking it to mean that it drains HP (from the target). Not sure though. xD
