FF VII is popular simply because it's the first of its generation.

It's like why Matrix is loved so much but the sequels aren't

o_0, i liked the Matrix because it was good / and didn't like the sequels because they sucked, not because they weren't the first tongue.gif

exactly my point, you just said the sequels sucked but didn't really put anything to back it up. A lot of FF VII fanboys do the same thing. Not that I'm calling you one.

Just level up more, staying near areas near save points. I liked to concentrate on obtaining the licenses for all the passive skills. That would be the ones on the bottomleft part of the upper board. It will give you good benefits that stay with you throughout the whole game. Only get equipment ones after you buy the equipment, and magic, just get the upgrades for the normal spells (ex. blizzard -> blizzaga -> blizzara) and the cures too. Other than that, you'll be pretty much set. The difficulty goes down almost exponentially as you level up to.
Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place and it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life.

Iono if you looked a page back, but if you happen to do so, it should be clear that i do not like FFVII as much as the other FF's

anyways, your comparison "is not very good" rolleyes.gif

if you want my opinion on why i thinked they sucked -

the plot was horrible - the whole movie just tried hard to look "cool" ; although action isnt bad, the story was

it seemed they were trying to milk money off the original story so i dont think they made much of an effort to make the plot good (they had the name, and people were going to watch it, so that's all that really mattered)

Doesnt really matter which is better ey, 1 or the other person will like 1 better in the end. @ DanTat , i thought you were talking about the game then moved to talking about the movie all of a sudden
7 is popular for a reason, maybe the movie made it even more but back then it was definately something new.

anyway in FFXII, i want to just finish the game so levelling can come at the end, but i find through playing it I cant kill 1 monster before another and another comes then a whole bunch comes and chases me. Not a good idea!

are the sidequests in FFXII for getting those uber powerful weapons worht it? i just skimmed through walkthroughs just incase i miss something crucial, some of them sound so troublesome. btw are sidequests quite obvious to know when u can do one or do most ppl use guides to know when there is a sidequest and where to find them.

In terms of story, cast of characters, character development, and gameplay FFVII loses to FFVI on a grand scale. Most people who have an appreciation for the 2D Final Fantasy games would agree.

not to mention, all characters should make it a priority to climb up the magic areas in the license board to get all the magic, speed, attack, hp, and shield boosts.

plus, get quickenings in license board so that your mana bar increases 2x and 3x.

well i'm about 30 hrs into FFXII and just finished the bit to get the sword to cut the nethecite. i really like FFXII, it reminds me of the old days of FF on ps1 where'd i just sit and play for hrs and not get bored, too bad i've got final year of high-school, not much time.

Final Fantasy 6 is my favourite of the series. The story and gameplay is excellent. I love combining a party that consists of Celes, Locke, Terra and either Setzer or Sabin. Unfortunately, I haven't explored any of the newer Final Fantasy titles beyond 8, so my knowledge about them is zero to none.

I would say probably not unless you lost your copy of the original FF 3 or you never had a hard copy of it.

Honestly, all these re-releases with slightly updated content doesn't really justify purchasing it. But that's just my opinion on that.

I think it's only worth getting if you want to play the exact same original game, but only in a portable version. In the sense of a fan playing the game, it's worth it. Otherwise, you'll probably be disappointed if you're expecting more such as updates.

Might as well keep that knowledge at zero because everything beyond is 6 (except Tactics) isn't much to talk about.

Now now, you have at least give credit to FF VII for exposing Final Fantasy to the masses. biggrin.gif
