If someone wants to take a look at this great goal... It's the one he scored in the Final of the Champions League 2002 with Real Madrid

I know Rooney's a bit immature on the field but he really didn't deserve that red card... Now, I bet everyone hates that ref!

c.ronaldo's probably leaving man u anyway.
so you think the rumor is true despite what's being said on man utd's website?
anywho, it'll be absurd if he gets a bad reception from english fans;
he didn't exactly betray england or anything...that is, unless the rumors are confirmed.
a footballer's supposed to play his best, regardless of what team he's facing.
i hope he stays with manchester utd at least until 2010 when the contract ends, but let the boy decide his own destiny.
i think cristiano was so poised as he made that last penalty kick because of that cockiness you all speak of.
you could tell how much he relished going last...haha, his dramatic kiss to the ball.^^
even the commentator noted how c.ronaldo was smiling as he stepped forward for his turn.
well i dunno...i guess you either love him or hate him.
and this was beckham's last world cup? for real?!
i wish his leg hadn't been hurting him so badly.

^ I agree. He comes off as a bit cocky to me too. I guess it's because he's still too young, and inexperienced.
yeah that's what I think too...but he's so hot LOL
i hope he'll change in the next 4 years

WELL DONE ZIDANE!! YOU DID VERY WELL!! I love Brazil but it was great to watch Zidane!
I was so upset when I saw Beckham cry.

Thanks Carol for the banner. Fleur rocks for making Owen look sexy!

yeah, i really do think he'll be leaving~i dont think he'll stick around until 2010. he didn't betray anybody. He did what he was supposed to do, play for his country. I am kinda sick of his whining though. It may get him attention from the refs and may even look cute now, but later on, it ain't gonna work.
Yeah, becks will be 35 in 2010. it was sad to see him cry, and i saw pics of his wife and children crying at the end of the game. A lot of Big Names are going to go this year, and its hard to see them go.

but i wanted to share this snippet with c.ronaldo's personal statement about the incident:
"People will say that the referee gave the red card because I spoke with him. This is not true. I spoke with him to say it was a foul, but I only said it was a foul, not a red card," said Ronaldo.
"I think the English press will say Rooney was sent off because of me but it is not true."

I think Roney deserved a yellow card, not red. It is sad to see Beckham or any of those England boys crying.
Yes, Ronaldo was hot on the field but for some reason, I found him acting very stubborn in this match...as if he didn't care one percent that the people he was playing against were his teammates. Did you guys hear about the scandal that Ronaldo wants to leave Manchester U?
In my opinion, Ronaldo rules everyone facewise but looking at his personality,
Ronaldo = Rooney
I didn't look like an accident to me. Rooney was pissed off. Going for the balls is a low blow though. I didn;t catch that part live (only replays) but I think that's pretty much crossing the line. I don't know if the red card was deserved but still...it's the ref's decision.
And why should he care? It he suppose to lighten up? I mean it's the world cup...you do what you got to do. You play to win. I think his teammates should realise that cause they sure as hell didn't cut him any slack either.
Aw so much bad press for Ronaldo. He's still young (what, 21?) give him a break

yeah exactly...i completely agree with you.
he's gotta play for his own country! he can't possibly care about his teammates at that stage. it's not a friendly match; it's the world cup!
don't hate, appreciate. ❤ avatar credits: opera [UG]
