but then again, his sudden surge to fame could understandably turn his head.
like everyone said, he's still at that young "testosterone-driven" age.
cut the boy some slack!

im so angry that i only noticed this thread today...TT___TT
i've missed out on sooo much! o well, i guess i have the next 4years to catch up...
it's so depressing that the world cup is comeing to an end...what's even more depressing is that england and brazil are out!! what's the point now?? no more becks...no more kaka...i was even starting like ronaldinho (not for his looks =X)....
i was thinking that c. ronaldo would be the only one left keeping me wanting to watch the world cup but this thread had put me off him quite a bit...i thought he's childish behaviour was cute but now that i think about, he should know better...i think what rooney did deserve at least a yellow card though....if he had stamped the other guy in the nutz on purpose then that's pretty LOOOW...i guess the ronaldo-rooney fiasco just proves that testosterone-driven macho soccer players can get bitchy too...^^

If people are saying "he's playing for Portugal blah blah blah"
Did you watch Zidane? How nice and polite was he to his Real Madrid team mates.
No, not all players are whiny. You obviously haven't watched enough soccer if you say that. Um...so? All his other team mates and all the other teams made it to the world cup, did you see them all whining? No. In that case, all the 300+ players have an excuse to whine. Greater players (i won't need to name them, it's obvious who they are) don't even whine. Where's Ronaldo's excuse now?
All these people trying to justify Ronaldo's actions are really lame. You guys need to watch him play more soccer and look less at him topless.
I would hate for him to return to Man U, if he wants to leave, then leave. DONT COME TO REAL THOUGH. I am not denying his talent, I don't think Real Madrid needs a baby in their team.

Thanks Carol for the banner. Fleur rocks for making Owen look sexy!

I thoroughly dislike C.Ronaldo for his stinky attitude even though he's a pretty boy but we should stop focusing on his hotness and look at him as a player in whole.I read in the papers that Rooney refused to play with him anymore after that brawl. And also, before the match,Rooney declared that C.Ronaldo told him he will have him sent off. Now,who's disgusted?
I know we should not listen to one side of the story but after that wink accident and taunting of the goalkeeper before the penalty shot tell me that there's an ugly man beneath all the hotness...

Um there was NO reason what so ever for ROnaldo to run 40m down the field to talk to the referee. That's the captain's job.
^I agree.
I found it funny when I saw him sprinting down the field. haha.
You shouldn't need to talk to the ref. He SHOULD know what to do without ppl telling him and pointing things out to him. He IS the REF. although this year, there were many that weren't upto the world cup standard. (shrug)

Oh, man, C. Ron's popularity is going down the drain!!!! haha I always thought he seemed cocky. (I'm more of a Kaka girl!! lol) But bad attitude aside, you have to admit, the boy can play football. Hopefully, he will grow up a bit for the next World Cup. People CAN change, you know. Let's not write him off just yet. ;0)
p.s. Does anyone else think Hargreaves is cute? He plays for England... jw

Some article online on the news (it is confirmed to be true btw) stated that Rooney while having breakfast one morning told one of his teammate or friend that he wants to "Break Ronaldo's head into two," "Never want to play with Ronaldo ever again" or something like that. However, Ronaldo's stated that he and Rooney are still friends and that he hasn't spoken to Rooney yet but he will be calling him. He also stated, "But right now, I just want to celebrate Portugal's winning so I'm not going to pay attention to this topic much right now."
I'd love to post up the links but I read it in Korean (at yahoo korea) and I'm too lazy to look back to the pages.
I have to agree with what some of you said. Not all soccer players whine. If you see Park Ji Sung playing in the Korea/Japan 2002 World Cup, he seems very mature like how he is now. Yes, almost all the players may exaggerate getting tripped, pushed, and so force a bit but not all whine and make things into a big scandal like these two.
Btw, those Beckham pictures are sooo cute! I know it's a weird question but the team Beckham's playing for right now (also the team Ronaldo wants to move to)..is it in England? Or US? .....
-----edit-----
Wait, I just found this link. Read it.
Rooney And Ronaldo Make Peace
For reason..it seems not real..esp. about Rooney saying congrats and saying he wasn't mad at all. But if they made up, that's good I guess.

I'm taking a taxi to Kentucky where they don't even know all about me. I just need to feel s a f e.
I've got a thousand sweaters, and shoes, and paintings to hide the skeletons in my way.
But he said, "Slow down, slow down. Think it over, we've all got wretched closets, but silly girl pride kills more than Aids lately."
I said, "Come on, I thought it over. I don't wanna die here. I have no desire to get m♥rried."
Every night I pray for you, don't believe in heaven or that it could be a happy place.
