Aw, I've been waiting for the list, thank you for posting it by the way, and now I feel so sad because so many of my favorites aren't named on the team. But I supposed it's because they're "old."
SAGNOL!!!!! YES!!!! He's one of the best defenders I've seen, in my opinion.
Great list of Strikers.

Ribery's a striker now, ey?
Wow, so many unfamiliar names.
Do you know who the goalie and coach are?
I was a Team Zizou supporter too.

But then after following France the whole WC, I fell in love with the whole team.

It's almost habitual to look for Zidane's name in the list of midfielders.

Zizou is definitely out since he retired. Makelele, I think, has also returned to international retirement. Thuram is still thinking about it and IIRC, Domenech said something that if he decides NOT to retire internationally he might accomodate him. Fabian Barthez wasn't put in the line-up because he doesn't have a club team (he doesn't play for Olympique Marseille anymore). I don't know if Domenech will put him back in the line-up if/when he finds a club. I think Coupet will be the goalkeeper now since Barthez is out.
Domenech is still coach, I think until Euro 2008 and depending on how well the team does. I still love Les Bleus and wear the team jersey proudly whenever I can, but shamefully not to the degree of "Oh-no-you-didn't-just-say-that-about-MY-Les-Bleus-you-#*&%! 'Cause-now-I'm-gonna-have-to-headbutt-a-biotch!" sort of way that I used to.
In my twisted little fantasy world, Domenech quits after Euro2008 and Zizou takes up the coaching for Les Bleus for WC2010. Or maybe Thuram ('cause he's made of awesome). A girl can dream ...

It sucks to hear about Beckham

I think he's pretty alright, very likable. It's his wife that grates me
I personally think he's dropped only from the friendly matches and that he's going to be reinstated in time for the qualifiers. UNLESS ... unless this new England team shows some remarkable improvement in their friendly games. Then it's adieu to Monsieur Beckham internationally.
