So I got this email from an alumni of the University of Texas about an interview for the Business Honors Program. However, he said that it was going to be an interview over the phone that lasts about 15-20 minutes. I think I'm supposed to be having it this Thursday, but I'm not quite sure how it's supposed to go. It seems to be pretty non-professional to have it over the phone.

Has anybody else done any interviews over the phone? Care to enlighten me on how it goes?

Just treat it like any other interview. Sit down, relax, and don't let your voice wobble with nervousness. =) You'll do fine. Be yourself.

my cornell interview was over the phone. In that type of situation, they really aren't judging you but want to set up a sort of q&a session. They simply want to get to know about your interests and concerns about the respective school. Interviews are probably the most overrated aspect of the applicant process. It has virtually no bearing on your admission so no reason to fret.

Phone interviews aren't unusual and they're not a big deal. What they might have you do is call a particular number, and then you'll essentially be in a conference call with a few admissions officers who will take turns asking you questions. Or it could just be with one person.
