Ryu trained with Master Goken and Ken was sent there to learn martial arts. Ryu and Ken trained together ever since they were young and became great friends and the greatest of rivals. Even though Ryu has the better win record, Ken wins the Street Fighter tournments again and again. Ryu is full japanese while Ken Masters is half japanese and half American. Kens familys wealth rivals the Rockfella's family. That would explain him having a private master that was all the way in Japan then comes back to America to live in a mansion and have a super hot girlfriend...which eventually becomes his wife.

I am following up in the Street Fighter comic, too bad they stopped making the comics. I really wish they would contiune the story because I would be first in line to pick it up. I have every older one though, I couldn't help it when I found out they had a comic. Now I'm currently on a search for the Chrono Trigger anime.

There is a super funny parody from Jackie Chans movie, City Hunter. That is a must see because I was ROFL when I saw that part happen.

Oh yes, and the latest anime called "Street Fighter Alpha Generations" was super lame. I couldn't even finish watching it because it was so horrible. I was sadely put down and glad that I did not purchase the movie from FYE. Though, something interested that crossed my mind and in the story line is that Akuma is actually or might be....Ryu's Father since they can both use the Dark Hado.

oh yea.... about KEN that one girl with yellow hair and long... in that movie.... is Ken's wife huh??? i mean ge... they didnt evene explain that he was married or something??? unless there suppose to be more parts to ken n ryu when he are younger.... but then i watch that last part when ken n ryu parted there way..... and that movies comes in... where ken searching for ryu..... ge.... the COMIC is telling all the story but then the movie isnt??? they making it confusing then wouldnt it????

That is exactly what my cousin said. If you watch the movie, it will state that Akuma was actually a good person once, he just hungared for power and gave up hope. Though there was someone who he trained with, and he told him to avoid the dark hado. Which actually Akuma embraces it and kills his master, as well as Goken...his own brother. There was a lady in there who cared for Akuma beforehand, but lost Akuma to the dark Hado. Many years later a kid is born and trains with master Goken. That kid is Ryu, so in the Alpha Generations, it just says Akuma is Ryu's Father.

Ken doesn't get the dark hado because Ken does not have the Shoken bloodline. I am assuming that it is what is in their bloodline that decides if they can use the dark powers or not. It does not come with the fighting style apparently, only in their blood line. Some way or somehow...Akuma and ryu are related.

Well the main thing about comics is that the movies do not flow with the manga. I have not noticed one movie that went along with a manga actually. You can not combine the two, they each have their own story line. Espcially since the Alpha movie and Alpha are OVAs, they are not orginal. What I was stating above is part of an OVA, not orginal story. In the comics, Ken and Liz are getting married, though thier party engagment party is crashed by Barlog and Vega. Though they pretty much stopped the story right from that point, so I don't know if they really do get married. In the video games though, Ken and Liz are married and have a kid already in Street Fighter III: Third Strike! I'm saying that all of them have seperate story lines already and its hard to even link them because the game is different from the movies and from the comics; vica versa.

Sorry, I meant to say that I watched the important parts and FF through the lame slow talking parts with the horrible voices. Akuma is who your talking about, Akuma is the other person who wore beads around his neck. After he killed Goken, he took his beads and wore them around his neck.

Neither the manga nor the anime should be considered official. Capcom didn't make them so they're not canon. Capcom only gave the rights to the producers to make Street Fighter anime/manga. The real canon stuff of street fighter, are some of the endings of the games.

nah i dont think akuma is ryu's father. i mean unless if it was part of the canon then i will not believe that akuma is ryu's father. if akuma was ryu's real father then bleh thats kinda wack. i like akuma as one of ryu's top rival instead of him being his father.

alpha generations was total crap. i actually stopped the movie cause it was soo bad. the story was understandable but the art work, mann huge disappointment after comin from street fighter: tam and street fighter alpha. it made me sick to watch, even though he was one of the popular artists in japan.

i too stopped collecting the comics. no income to purchase it but when i get some money im gonna start collecting again. i thought the comics were awesome, one of the best that ive collected. i really wanna start getting the new rival schools comic cause reyyy's artwork is to die for. hopefully the people at udon do make a new street fighter anime that i heard that they might make.

is it me or is shin akuma's misogi is probably one of the craziest moves in street fighter? i find shin's misogi my favorite move because its just soo deadly and the best looking move ever. haha i even got my first online win like that...after that i lost after a remach. >_<

i also remember connecting the misogi after a qcb+hp gou hadoken and won. ahh that was pretty. good times, good times.
