allright, so i think i'm REALLY LATE, because i didn't even start FAFSA yet, but i am going to start ASAP because I just got all my parents tax information.

For those of you who ARE FINISHED, was it easy to fill out? and how long did it take you?

It's not that bad-- I think it only took about 45 minutes to an hour at the most. The only annoying thing was that I had to call my parents like 230984x to ask things like their social security numbers and bank account/savings info and stuff.

i was done mid-january. you should get your pin number for yourself and your parents if you already havent. those take a few days to receieve

well, my first deadline was jan. 20.. and i did it the night before >.<
but it took about an hour, we had to estimate everything kuz my parents werent done w/ all their taxes and stuff..
it was kinda confusing, but that might be because i dont really know anything about finances and taxes

the pin number will take 3-5 days to come.
DO EVERYTHING ONLINE -- IT'S SO MUCH QUICKER!

btw, you need two pins...one for you and anotehr for one parent.

it took me about 1.5-2 hours...
just use the 1040, W-2, schedules, and..other stuff and you're set.
oh, and the occassional "DADDD, WHAT'S _______?!?!"

i did mine at the beginning of january. my dad wasn't done with his tax stuff either but i just estimated from last year's stuff. you can always change it after they get the actual figures. if you haven't started you should definitely start like right now. there's a lot of people who have financial aid deadlines and they wait til the night of to do it and then they find out that they have to make a pin which takes a couple days to send to you. so yea that sucked for them.

do your parents HAVE to have a pin? or can just the student have one..

your parents need one to "sign" it also. only one has to sign but both parents need one i think? i don't remember, but i do know that at least one needs it.
