Synopsis
The eerie and deserted ghost town of Silent Hill draws a young mother desperate to find a cure for her only child's illness. Unable to accept the doctor's diagnosis that her daughter should be permanently institutionalized for psychiatric care, Rose (Radha Mitchell) flees with her child, heading for the abandoned town in search of answers -- and ignoring the protests of her husband (Sean Bean). It's soon clear this place is unlike anywhere she's ever been. It's smothered by fog, inhabited by a variety of strange beings and periodically overcome by a living Darkness that literally transforms everything it touches. As Rose searches for her little girl, she begins to learn the history of the strange town and realizes that her daughter is just a pawn in a larger game.

The story is similar to the first Silent Hill (but the main character is actually a female in the movie)? And what she could actually call her husband for help? =T I guess for a horror movie the main character is USUALLY a female. But it's strange that the police officer is still a female in the movie (I thought they would change that to a male instead since the main character is a girl in the movie)

I also was bugged by the fact that the main character could possibly call for help. There seems to be people evacuating the city, which really disappoints me. In the game, there was little to no help from the outside and there were very very few people found in the city.
Steven spielberg is making fatal frame? I dunno. He has been filming really mediocre films, lately..

im just hopin that regardless who is directing it that it turns out to become a great horror movie. they also need to take the feel of the game and make the transition into a movie, because if they do, oh my i mite be peeing my pants.
have you seen shutter by any chance? im hopin that it will have that intensity of horror but in a totally new world/story.

Yeah, I think they should have used a male main character. I think the fact that she can call for help is dumb. I think that there's a good chance this movie could really blow (just because it's a video-game-made-movie, and those always suck). But still. XD; The monsters look awesome, from what I can tell.
LOOK AT PYRAMID HEAD FOR GODS SAKE. (clicky t3h thumbnail!)

Am I a bad person for thinking that's really hot? Because... I find that really hot. XD;; *convulses* I'm so excited. XD;
And I heard that they're not actually combining all the games into one movie, really. The plot is mostly from the first game. The reason they changed it to a girl was because if it were a guy searching for his daughter it'd seem to... lady-like. Y'know? Just doesn't translate well to film. So I can see where they were coming from on that aspect. So yeah; game one plot, with many game two elements (as far as zombies go.)
Okay, I'm gonna stop rambling now.

please dont let it be like land of the dead, resident evil, doom, starshiptroopers 2, or any other horror movie where there's a group of people and each person gets killed at a time.
No, it shouldn't be. Or at least if it is, it's not staying very true to the game.
As far as I can tell, it's about a mother who ends up in Silent Hill, and loses her daughter. She has to search for her, but along the way she encounters some other eerie people from the town. (which happens in the game too.)

I heard fatal frame it's based on a true story, which scared me even more when i was playing the game...
As long as the director is not Uwe Boll.. Then, all is well i guess.
I've never heard of shutter, all i know is that there is going to be remake..
Oh man. I so cannot wait for this movie.

haha ..good ol' pyramid.. I missed it..
Personally, it seems to be more gripping to see a father frantically look for his lost child. It would have been nice to see a father and daughter interaction in this film. I find female leads in these situations just plain annoying.

the evil beings are creepy T.T;;;
anywayy.. i think a mother looking for her daughter is kinda annoying in some way but not really because the father looking for his daughter is becoming a bit cliche nowadays isn't it? I dunno but in a way, to me it is.
but other than that, hopefully this movie'll be great

Apparently, the director is a fan of the game. I'm not sure if this is a good or bad thing though but it looks really good. I am so going to watch it!
