Welcome! We are glad you have decided to check out SM Entertainment's FIRST rock band!
Just so there isn't any confusion:
it has been announced in April-May 2006 that drummer Rose (No Min Woo) has left The TRAX.
You can view the discussion starting on page 9
We fans are devastated that Rose left, but we still support our TRAX boys all the way!

TRAX = Typhoon of Rose Attack on X-Mas
TRAX is a Korean rock band formed in 2004 by SM Entertainment. They have released 3 Korean singles (Paradox, Scorpio, Blaze Away) and 3 Japanese singles (Scorpio, Rhapsody, Blaze Away).

The TRAX's long awaited first album comes out JULY 18, 2006
The TRAX's fourth Japanese single comes out AUGUST 23, 2006

The TRAX has also worked with X-Japan member Yoshiki.

the TRAX wasn't featured on Windstruck's OST. the original TEARS was by X-Japan, which was included in the ost. The TRAX remade it into a rock and korean version a couple months later for their single album.



and here's my contribution: an Article from SM Entertainment's Magazine

TRAX are the first rock band initiated by SM Entertainment,

Their outward appearance and atmosphere are unique to Korea and is associated with the visual rock band style of Japan.

The four members of the rock band TRAX are the forefront of a new musical topic in Korea, and create sympathetic tracks in a unique Korean-Japanese joint project started secretly. After being introduced, the highexpectations for this band was not hidden, and so far the group is souring above their predicted level of success.

That SM Entertainment cast each memeber in their position is a fact. However, the members knew they wanted to play music together and had already formed the core of the band before approaching SM with the proposal to take it further. The TRAX members did band activities together during junior high school before joining Starlight Academy. They scored a high level of popularity from their neighbourhood area and their schools, and played public performances with each other and separately.

Typhoon is the band leader and was selected by SM officials whilst temporarily living in Los Angeles, US to complete the initial conception. The band roster was started and all four members worked with their writing team directly to create lyrics with their own souls and feelings contained within. Every track of their single and album releases is selected by the band personally.

The band members are: Band leader and vocals Typhoon (real name Jay Kim), drummer Rose (real name No MinWoo), bassist Attack (real name Kang JungWoo), and guitarist Xmas (real name Kim JungMo). When composed together, their formal band name is Typhoon of Rose Attack on Xmas.

The core of their music is basically rock, but their musical influence spans a far wider spectrum to include hiphop, rnb, pop, hardcore, indie and others.

After the TRAX all passed the final Starlight exams, their first single, Paradox, was released domestically over the summer. Later in the year they announced their second single, a Korean-Japanese project to be released and sold at the same time, and called Scorpio.

On the day of release in Japan, several stores immediately sold out of their stock supplies. The band had a signing session together with Yoshiki Hayashi of legendary rock band X Japan of Japan. The title song of the single was composed specially by the band with Yoshiki Hayashi, and they participated directly with the production.

The band state that it is the melody of this song that makes it important, and insist strongly that it is formed as a take on rock from the Orient. The harsh guitar is balanced out with the beauty of a quiet piano performance. Other than the second track, which is a cover of X Japan's well known "Tears", the accompanying tracks were Beat Traitor, Knife, and in Korea, Over the Rainbow Rock and Piano versions, making it a total of six tracks recorded for the single.
