I'm planning on switching my service provider from Cingular to Verizon Wireless. However, I really don't want to change my number and text 200+ people telling them my new phone number. Is there any way (without unlocking tools/equipment) that I can keep my number? Or does VW let you keep your old number when you sign with them?

Im pretty sure you just go to the new company and have them transfer your old phone number. I know you can do that now FCC says so.

yea, just tell your new provider that you want to port your old number over.

reminds me of horrible experiences. stupid tmobile ported my home phone number over and didnt fix it for two weeks. plus i had to get new home number when it was fixed. make sure you get everything straight beforehand.
