The pre-med program is pretty good, but other than that it's a decent education.

It's definitely not as good at University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign.

It's nicknamed "prison school".

But their gppa program is good. But mostly only Illinois residents really know about it. It's not as famous as Northwestern HMPE or Brown's PLME etc.

please do not PM me asking me to close threads, etc! i am no longer a mod! ^^ thanks!

"Prison School?" rolleyes.gif I've never heard it called that.

I don't recommend it for undergrad unless you're in their GPPA program. [Med, Pharm, Dentistry, etc] GPPA is not "as famous" because they prefer in state students rather than taking ones from all over the nation. Therefore, only IL residents really know it.

agreed. I have an interview there this saturday for UIC's GPPA/Honors College. I wouldn't say UIC is the best school...it's actually one of my safeties including UIUC (but then again, I'm an Illinois resident)

Why do you not want to go there for undergrad? I thought it was a pretty good school.
Most people I know that go to UIC seem to love it.

IMO it's not a v. good school. Just their GPPA programs are worth it. It's of course still better than a community college, but there's a lot of trouble with teachers/TAs a lot cuz you can't understand them, or they teach badly, etc. Of course there are good teachers too, but yah. And I don't like the fact that there isn't really a "campus." The "quad" is made out of cement. T.T
