What do you think about this camera or this brand especially? I think I dropped my canon sd450 really hard last time and now sometimes the pictures come out blurry then sometimes it doesn't. It's starting to annoy to really bad so I'm looking to buy a new camera. I hope you guys could help me like you did the last time. Thanks!
Also recconmend me a good camera if you don't think this one would do it.
Specs: Hopefully 7MP +, compact, price range under $300.. thats all I'm really looking for.
Thanks all!!
Other Choices:
Konica Minolta DiMaGE X1
Canon PowerShot SD 700IS
Sony CyberShop DSC-T10

i think a canon is nice but honestly the design is kind of boring... but it's quality that matters, right?
oh yeah... nikon is cool because it's stylish and good at taking pictures xP but it's battery life isn't what i'd call excellent.

I'm not sure about a camera though... both my cousins have a Nikon Coolpix (decent price) that works pretty well. Otherwise, you can always browse around at the nearest camera store to see what your options are.

To make a long story short without going into the technicals, the more mp u have, the more noisy or grainier the images will be..especially for any digital compact.
@cafe_addict, which digital camera did u have for comparing how grainy the photos were compared to film, and what ISO/ASA, and what format.

When you say Nikon, which model? I currently have the 5600 but it seems bulky now. I want something small and compact.
So, 5 or 8mp.. makes no difference really if I just want the pictures shown on lets say.. a pc or laptop?

no difference, 5mp is already way more than you need for display on a monitor

what kind of things are you looking for in the camera? size, zoom, megapixels, LCD size, battery life?
if you're OK with size.. get the Canon S2 IS.. incredible battery life and 12X optical zoom, 48X total zoom, etcetc

^^ really.. alrightie.. thanks everyone!!
last question
sandisk, lexar, kingston..they're all good.
one thing you should keep in mind, the faster card will only benefit you if your camera can support it.
no point buying a CF card with a write speed of 20+mb/s if your camera can only write at a max speed of 5mb/s.

I have the Nikon S1 Coolpix. It looks really nice. it's thin and it has a HUGE screen and it's 5.1 MP.
But it's not that great though. It is soooo shaky when you turn off flash
(I know all cameras do that but it blurs like crazy. It blurs even when I set it on a tripod)
Once you go into optimal zoom it is extremely grainy.
But with flash and no zoom its a pretty good I guess.
I personally like Canon cameras.
But it wasn't cool enough to fit my shallow family's needs.

I recently (last night) purchased the Canon SD 450... my first actual choice.. I bought it off Dell for 278 w/ tax.. Its not that much of a deal but I've been aiming for this for too long now..
Oh yea.. I also purchased a Scandisk 1gb Ultra II for around $50 at buy.com.. pretty good deal here too.
Thanks again all.
