I decided to do a disk defragment today but there was an error.

This error report includes: information regarding the condition of Disk Defragmenter NTFS Module when the problem occurred; the operting system version and computer hardware in use; your Digitial Product ID, which could be used to identify your license; and the Internet Protocol (IP) address of your computer.

I gave up trying a number of times after so I went and did a disk cleanup. It paused at three bars for quite a while so I cancelled it. I did a McAfee virus scan and there was an error as well.

What's wrong with my computer? Would I need to reformat my computer? Thanks for all the help in advance.

At the current state, I have no idea whats wrong iwth your computer.
You have posted the default information that is included with system error messages... so try it again then post a screen shot of it.

Format? No...
I would convince you to get disk keeper or O&O defragmenter before I would tell you to format. In other wods if you want, you could replace disk defragmenter if that just hte probelm\.
