^ that is not true ......
I'm shifting to interior design .....
it's hard to make it and there are a lot of competition in that field and if the economy is bad there will be even less jobs. unless youre talented like that guy that always comes out on Oprah i think it's a hard career to be successful in. even if you work for a company your salary wont be great and wont even amount to the hours that you spend on the job and it will take experience and a lot of knowledge to start your own interior design business, not to mention that not all businesses succeed. just my opinion.

it's VERY VERY hard and time consuming and requires lots of intellectuality...
atleast the one at Parsons is so.
parsons has interior design?
i think it would be fun up to a point. i live for HGTV and interior design books and magazines. but i don't think it's anything where i'd like to (or would be able to) turn it into a career. my parents are in the furniture business and they have to deal with interior designers all the time. the designers themselves are fine, but apparently their clients can be absolute pains in the rear end. i think being an interior designer requires the ability to be able to compromise and deal with other people pleasantly on a very personal level.

hmmm... i hear tht if a guy does interior design its kinda considered gay... no offense do u believe in this...?
Nope. Not true. So far i don't know anyone who's a gay in interior. But there are some who are pretty sissy.
Yes interior design is intense. It's hard to please your clients. Each new project, we gotta redo, rethink concepts, plans, designs, etc, time and time again to please our lecturers(who plays as our clients). It can easily make you breakdown.Lots of my friend were like crying in the middle of the night, freaking out, cause they couldn't finish the work on time. I've freaked out and broke down a couple of times too. But when it's the final critique and you've gotten praises for your work, the feeling is just awesome. But at the same time, they can pull you down like your work is nothing but dirt. It just depends on whether or not you can deal with the constant pressure and time constraint.

in the architectual/interior design business and he told me that
I would be making at least $45K for my first year and gradually
work myself up. It's all about networking and connections
and your education as well; for me, I'm planning on doing
commercial interior design to get more exposure and more network.
Plus I'm in NYC ..
But you know, it's not only this occupation,
every job is competitive you know.

How you plan your career is crucial. I have an uncle who is
in the architectual/interior design business and he told me that
I would be making at least $45K for my first year and gradually
work myself up. It's all about networking and connections
and your education as well; for me, I'm planning on doing
