I can't take piano classes since they're only at night time and I already have a full schedule with 3 ap classes. I have sheets which tells me how to read each key and I've tried playing a song but it doesn't sound like it at all! My question, is how would you start off first of all if it's only you, the keyboard, a sheet telling you how to read each key, and a piano sheet (I chose an easy one to start off with by the way, my friend suggested it)?
I really want to start playing!!!!TT__TT

if you aren't comfortable playing the song with both hands. Practice your hands separately. Play right hand parts first until you're comfortable, then try the left hand parts. Then play it together.

hmmm..
I agree that you should start with one hand first, which is the right. It's anytime easier to pick up than the left if you are a right handed person XD
first spread your fingers over the white keys. Preferbly starting from the middle C

Either your playing it wrong or the sheet music is simplified and doesn't sound detailed as the original.
One way to know how it sounds (your sheet music) is input it through a music program manually or there are some where u can actually scan it using a scanner and your computer will play the song.
Just enjoy piano and you should be able to learn fast.

Hmmm...I should get that program.
And maybe the sheet music is simplified...

Piano Junk
originally made this for a person who asked in the general discussion place
.
One quick change though. The bottom part. All Cars Entail Gas, is suppose to be for the open spaces.
and Good Breakers Dance Freakishly Awsome, is for the lined notes.
I taught myself how to play piano. It wasnt' that difficult. You just gotta keep practicing and know what you're doing.
You probably aren't playing the song right because you didn't add in the sharps, or flats, or you're holding out a note too long or something.

i suggest you learn from the basic if you havent have any instrumental background, after knowing ur notes and everything then you can start "study" your keyboard's keys, THEN you start practice playing the scale everyday, then after that =) you can play a real songs anytime

if you already know where the notes are and where it should be played, play with one hand at first and then the other. then start playing it slowly and make sure your rhythm and beat are correct too.

Yes, rhythm and beat are very important. Learn all your note values.
Try learning a song you're already familiar with, so you'll know the correct tune.
