Is it true that if you go to a 2 year college,
take your core classes, and when you want to transfer,
you can only transfer to a school thats in the same state
as your 2 year college??
someone told me this and i wasnt just too sure

you can transfer anywhere you want that will accept you. the thing you have to worry about is whether they will accept the credits for the classes you took.

yeah, basically what Stephen said. they'll accept the credits as well.
transfer students are also on a higher priority and reviewed first for admissions to colleges & universities so you get that advantage.
goodluck.

what happens if you go to a four year college and you want to transfer junior year? is it really hard to get accepted to another school as a transfer?

Getting accepted as a transfer isn't hard. It's just the same application process. My community college had a "Guaranteed Transfer Admission" thing, so we could go in as long as we signed a contract and maintained a certain GPA.
There should be a website you can go to that will check if your community college units will transfer over. The California universities and community colleges all use www.assist.org to tell students which classes they are required to take before transferring to the university. This website is organized by major and department.
The community college should also be able to tell you which classes are transferable. You might be able to find that information in the course catalogs.

Still young, but I feel incredibly old. Silly me.
