Just this week, I received a letter of invitation from Penn State Smeal School of Business regarding the Sapphire Program. They told me in the letter that the admission into this program is by invitation-only, and all I had to do was to confirm and I was in. They also told me that they chose the students into this program by seeing the superior GPA and SAT scores within the first-year students at Smeal. Selection into this program gives me special privileges like special classes opened to Sapphire students only, opportunity to live in a suite room, special seminars and distinguished speakers, etc.

I was wondering if anyone out here heard of this program, and if so, what it's really about. Approximately how many invitation letters do they send out to invite people into the program? How competitive is it? Is it worth it?

If anyone has any answers to the questions above or has any information about it, please tell me. I am happy that they sent me this, but quite frankly, I have no clue of exactly what they're offering me. sweatingbullets.gif

Oh no, it's a completely legitimate program; the site for the program is on the PSU website, but it doesn't provide enough information for me. That's why I was wondering if anyone here heard about it.. smile.gif
