I picked this up with Hommage. I think you'll like this PoppinBC.

Indian Palm 11/11/09

01. 바람이 되어 (Fly High) 타이틀곡
02. Picnic
03. Bye
04. 야간비행
05. Indian Palm
06. Come Closer (feat. Junggigp)
07. 숨바꼭질
08. Misty
09. 벗 (feat. Huckleberry P)
10. 꽃 (feat. Soul One)

Picnic is a pretty awesome song. There's a guy who sounds exactly like MC Meta hah

I was already on the lookout for Hommage, I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for that one!

Indian Palm is definitely my new favorite artist/s/group (: I love the jazzy beats and whatnot.
Also been on the lookout for some Huckleberry P, and I got it!

Hommage was really nice, but what else did we expect? Soul Company never fails to amaze <3

Sniper is slowly falling off, but hopefully he'll re-establish his career with the new album.

For some reason I had never heard of Cloudancer until this... hiphopplaya posted it on their youtube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yp8dUPMrAoc

So confused why I'd never heard of this before, it's really solid >.< I did some reading, says DJ Magik Cool J and MC Chatterbox of Superappin' PJ, but I could swear that's Kebee doing the verse around 2min., but he's not credited; just a featured artist on this track?

Yeah, I took a listen and I gotta say it's kinda bland and almost every track has the same vibe. Disappointing. It's definitely not my favorite MC Sniper album. It's more something I think people who like mellow orchestral pop would like than a lot of rap fans, especially underground rap fans, so it's got more mainstream appeal. Oh well, I was pretty much already expecting it to lean towards a more pop sound, to be honest, and a heavy dose of downer tracks is also expected, coming from MC Sniper. A lot of people may like that, but it didn't do a whole lot for me this time, mainly because it was just too much of the same sound track after track, even though I have nothing against it in moderation. At least his fourth album mixed it up a bit more and I could actually remember some of the tracks after one listen. The track with Outsider stood out the most for me on this album, if only because it was one of the few features and one of the closer things to uptempo on the album. I've warmed up to the album a little after skimming through it a second time, but still not enough to throw it on my mp3 player yet.
Hey, look! Finally a different signature after all these years!

Confirmed my fears, I guess no reason to really pay attention to MC Sniper anymore... I had such high hopes for the One Nation albums and after they came out so bland (only tracks I *ever* listen to are the ones from Kebee, Minos, and The Quiett), I feel like he's really fell off from hip-hop as he tries to appeal to mainstream =/

Yeah I saw that on hiphopplaya's YT account too. I don't think it's Kebee though, why wouldn't they credit him O.O SC artists are always good ways to get heads turning lol.

I've never been huge on Sniper BECAUSE of the strings obsession he has, and I agree with your review. His fourth was not that great for me though.

My favorite track was the one with Outsider too, which is surprising because I'm not big fan of Outsider....

I read that this album was compiled with songs, which were picked from over 100 songs that MC Sniper composed so I canīt help but be thinking that there could have been better tracks to put into it ... because I agree Museum now has the same vibe going on there. However, I have nothing against strings / orchestral stuff and him sounding / being mainstream (which I think he is).

I agree that he's pretty much mainstream now, which is also fine by me since I'm not really a hardcore underground purist. But yeah, it was the same feel in almost every track that had me so underwhelmed after people waited years for this album, I don't mind a few tracks of it. He's done a lot of the strings/orchestral thing, but I don't think it was ever quite this mellow for track after track.

If it's true that these were picked from over 100 songs, then it seems like he either composed a lot of even less memorable stuff, which would mean he's fallen pretty far for one of Korea's best-known rap artists, or else he fully intended for this album to have a specific sound and actually chose all the tracks to fit that mold while putting aside any that might have stuck out with a totally different vibe. If the latter is the case, well, his album, his choice to decide what sound he's going for. I don't doubt that many people will like this album, even if a lot of listeners are disappointed.

Who knows, maybe this is kind of like his version of Epik High's Lovescream (which I disliked more than this album, but that's beside the point), with a specific album-wide vibe that doesn't necessarily mean everything he puts out from now on is going to be the same way.

i never really listened to MC Sniper; he wasn't really to my taste, and One Nation sucked (except Outsider biggrin.gif) so it was a major turnoff to MC Sniper's stuff.

aside from MC Sniper...what ever happened to TBNY? I haven't heard from them since the tragedy of Side A and them I see a Topbob in a group called Komplex featured in Leessang's latest album. Any news?

Yup, although I wouldn't say it's the typical 'mainstream'. Koreans just have some obsession for poppy sounds and violins, so in a way, it's Korean mainstream.

My Christmas hip-hop playlist:
Indian Palm, The Quiett, Kebee, Nujabes, B-Soap, Eluphant, Soulman & Minos. And that's all I've built so far. If you have any recommendations (songs would be helpful, because most artists have all types of songs), please help.
Something jazzy/nostalgic (;

Goddamn TBNY, they got people all excited and interested in them with that first album...and then Side A happened after two years of waiting. Definitely a bigger disappointment than MC Sniper because I was actually anticipating their second album last year before the letdown. That's all old news that's been bemoaned enough by now, though. Topbob's doing something with some other group now? What? I'm not even sure I would give a damn if Yankie and Topbob just split up and went on to other things as completely separate entities, even though they can be a good team. They do a lot of features apart from each other already, anyway, especially Yankie. Their third album would have to be pretty kickass for me to completely forgive them for Side A.

Nujabes <3, even if he isn't Korean, hahaha. Add Shing02 on that list also... look up the luv sic songs (I'm guessing you already know about them if you know about Nujabes), Shing02 is fantastic.

There are some tracks on the Artisan Beats + Minos album which would go nicely in that list... not sure if P-Type is too Jazzy / heavy for that playlist. Some Garion songs might go nicely as well

Haha yeah, the Luv (sic) series are <3
Nujabes would probably be my favorite producers were Premier and The Quiett not around (;

I just found out that Pinodyne was Huck P and some other producer. HUCK P! All this time, I was looking for his featurings, when there was a whole EP with him ㅠㅠ

I've been listening to some T lately, Gemini is so <3 SOOOOO <3

I like Sunday 2PM, but their voices kind of make me anxious. Like, too high pitched T.T (I have the same problem with Kebee, Outsider, Yankie, Mad Clown, ect.). I guess my type (in terms of voices, which normally should not be an issue) is in the deep category.

My favorite voices: THE QUIETT! Ignito, E-Sens, Simon D, Swings, Rimi, T, Gaeko, Huck P, Lobsta, Jerry.k and Double K.
Q's voice is sexy, to no end ^^;

Supreme Team won?! THEY BEAT THOSE POP GROUPS?! <3 MAMA did something right for once lol.
