I read that this album was compiled with songs, which were picked from over 100 songs that MC Sniper composed so I canīt help but be thinking that there could have been better tracks to put into it ... because I agree Museum now has the same vibe going on there. However, I have nothing against strings / orchestral stuff and him sounding / being mainstream (which I think he is).
I agree that he's pretty much mainstream now, which is also fine by me since I'm not really a hardcore underground purist. But yeah, it was the same feel in almost every track that had me so underwhelmed after people waited years for this album, I don't mind a few tracks of it. He's done a lot of the strings/orchestral thing, but I don't think it was ever quite this mellow for track after track.
If it's true that these were picked from over 100 songs, then it seems like he either composed a lot of even less memorable stuff, which would mean he's fallen pretty far for one of Korea's best-known rap artists, or else he fully intended for this album to have a specific sound and actually chose all the tracks to fit that mold while putting aside any that might have stuck out with a totally different vibe. If the latter is the case, well, his album, his choice to decide what sound he's going for. I don't doubt that many people will like this album, even if a lot of listeners are disappointed.
Who knows, maybe this is kind of like his version of Epik High's
Lovescream (which I disliked more than this album, but that's beside the point), with a specific album-wide vibe that doesn't necessarily mean everything he puts out from now on is going to be the same way.
