Fly To The Sky is still going very strong, holding on to the top spot for the 3rd straight week with a 947 score. Lee Soo Young is closing in, moving up another sopt to #2. Let see if she will become the first female artist to hit #1 on this chart next week (we have none since the chart started last year).

Another week with lots of new songs (6). But the more surpising fact is the songs that dropped out. 5 of the 6 songs dropped out were still in the top 10 last week. This chart is moving a lot faster in the last 3 weeks. New singer Howl has 1.5 songs in the chart: his solo debut "앵무새" (Parrot) moves up 1 spot to #18 this week, and his duet with J "Perhaps Love" debuts at #13. This song is coming from the OST of the popular MBC drama "Goong". It is the first drama song to hit our top 20 this year.

3 songs debuted from last week made big jumps. They are KCM's "태양의눈물" (Tears of the Sun), up 9 spots to #3; Lee Seung Ki's "하기힘든말" (Words Hard to Tell), up 12 spots to #4, and K's "웃어요", up 8 spots to #10. Let see if these songs will challange Fly To The Sky for the top spot next week.

ARTIST OF THE WEEK - Lee Seung Ki




Our featured artist this week is multi-talented Lee Seung Ki. He debuted as a singer two years ago, but now he is also an actor. His song "하기힘든말" moves up 12 big spots this week on our chart. Let's find out more about him:

Lee Seung-gi is a young male vocalist who made his debut in 2004 as a high school student. Being tall and handsome, his voice color is contrary to his soft looks. Lee Seung-gi has a low and powerful tone of voice that appeals to many pop music lovers. From his voice, it is hard to tell that he is only 17 years old when he debuted. Lee is an active student at school. He served as the student president in his second year in Sangkye High School. He first started music in high school by joining the school band as the leading vocalist. While performing with his band in a small theater in Daehagno, Lee was scouted by famous female singer Lee Sun-hee. After two years of hard training, Lee Seung-gi debuted on the stages with the song entitled “You’re My Woman.” The song and lyrics were written by Psy. It started a whole "누나syndrome." (liking older woman). He was named “2004 best new artist of the year” in various year end award shows.

In 2005, Lee Seung-gi has expanded his career to acting, appearing in the long running MBC sitcom “Non Stop 5”. However, he halted all his performance on air in July last year in order to prepare for his second album. He finally released his new album on February 2, 2006, 20 months after his 1st album. For the collection of new songs, Lee has been supported by many great figures in the local pop music market. Kim Do-hoon, writer of Crime and Punishment by SG Wannabe and Incurable Disease by Wheesung and Jeon Hae-sung, writer of It Must Have Been Love by Yoon Do-hyun and A Long Day by Lee Seung-cheol participated in the making of Lee Seung-ki’s new album. The title song of the new album is “Words Hard to Tell,” a sad ballad about letting a loved one leave. The new album contains a total of 13 tracks including “I Shout,” “The Shape of the Mouth” and “Just Once.”

Vibe Vol. 3 - Re-feel (February 27)

Vibe are back to give fans the low-down on more R&B from Korea. The trio debuted on the K-pop scene in 2002 with the album Afterglow that included Promise U among other pleasing tunes. In the end of 2003 they launched their follow-up work Do U Remember? , which once again managed to touch the hearts of music lovers with such hits as "A Long, Long Time" and "After looking at the picture". Now the band with the core members Yoon Min Soo on lead vocal and producer/vocalist Ryoo Jae Hyeon are finally back with their 3rd CD that has been titled Re-Feel. The all-round talent group that is skilled in anything from composing to song writing and producing that has not been releasing a full-length major CD for quite a while returns with its passionate easy listening rhythms. In between the dedicated musicians have been doing what they are best at, taking part in live performance events with SG Wannabe, KCM, Park Hwayobi among other known artists. What's more they joined M to M, SG Wannabe, Kim Jong Kook and Big 4 to release a special digital single album with material that has pushed their fame to even higher levels. Vibe's latest album comes with the principal track "That Boy - That Girl" (Track 2), that features K-pop diva Jang Hye Jin who made her long awaited comeback with her 7th album 4 Season Story after 5 years (most recently she was studying abroad for 2 years). Roller Coaster, one of K-pop's most foremost trend-setting bands finally returns with its latest melodies on board. The sound-strong formation that launched its debut album in 1999 and whose 4th CD came out in spring 2004 are back with their highly anticipated follow up work Triangle.
