hey guys, i have a question that might make you guys think about a lot or not...but i've always wondered this about college students...and as a biomed engineer major, i still ask myself the same question.

are you guys in your major for the potential salary offers or for the interest of the major?

interest, as i don't intend to go into an IT profession. i study Comp Sci with Business Management. Although hopefully it would bring me a good salary.

Partly in it for the money, but partly not. I actually don't know what I want to be, but I chose to major in business because business degrees are pretty much the basis of everything these days. =\

im in geography and looking to go into architecture or urban design.. havent decided yet.. but to answer to your question.. mostly out of interest cause i love designing

good question. something i always wondered too. Frankly at times.. potential salary is what is STOPPING me from majoring in what i am interested in. money has always had a major impact on my life, so i dont think i would be able to live without it. But.. its really hard studying to become something that I dont want to be. so therefore.. i am currently undeclared -___-

My Major: Cognitive Science. Why: Mostly interest, but I can't say that a decent salary won't hurt . Then again If I really wanted money from this kind of major I'd just work as a market psychologist.

i'm majoring in anthropology and minoring in korean. i doubt that i'll get much of a job out of either of them, but i'm just studying them solely out of interest. my degrees are pretty much useless, since i'm going to culinary school and interior design school once i've graduated.

Got BA in Architectural drafting and pay wasn't good enough $15-$20.

Switched to Chem now for money.
Planning to transfer pharmacy school.

Interest, but what makes it feasible to go ahead and work in is because of the fact that the salary is good (not great, but satisfactory enough so that I can live off of it happily).
