isn't it almost impossible to use japanese cell phones in the u.s.? i think they use a very special kind of network that somehow integrates cdma and gsm or something like that. anyway i don't think you could or otherwise a lot of people would be using japanese phones here.

I believe that you can't use DoCoMo phones outside of Japan - think its CDMA only
Some Vodaphones can be used outside of Japan if you get them unlocked and if they are part GSM

DoCoMo is based on the CDMA 1x or 2x network designed only for Japan. So is KDDI, or Au by KDDI. However, Vodafone uses the GSM network and once unlocked, can be used anywhere in the world.=]

That phone is locked to Japan I believe, and even if there was hypersim for it, it would be very unstable.


And docomo DOES work outside of Japan! 905i and 906i series, don't lose hope

And the sharps from softbank are good too. Toshiba I am not sure..

every person who said docomo phones can't be used were just PWND hard by the 705/905 and 706/906 series as wll as many softbank phones. how dos it feel?

1: japan uses a wcdma(not cdma...vastly different) network.
2: docomo makes plenty phones that can be used for international roaming and with the help of a hypersim...used on gsm networks around the world.
3: softbank has many phones that are able to be firmware unlocked and used internationally.

now that phone in particular....who knows...i don't. not my style so i don't look into it. why not gt something else that will work? JOIN THE p906i is my pimp club.
