well that to me sounds a bit unbalanced. u hardly have any meat in there. sure theres protein with the banana but that doesnt seem good... eat fruit in the morning, and perhaps some at night. lessen ur portions and cut out sugar and fat...have square meals

excercis sounds good as long as u do it longer than 20 minutes. im sure u can lose it by the end. im rooting for you!!! (since i want to do the same thing too)

Ohhh hmm most days I go out to eat lunch so I'll probably eat some protein there? But if I don't, fruit. & then maybe for dinner, more protein & less carbs & such.

thanks for the response! hope your diet works for you as well :]

When I had jobs, it was always easy for me to lose weight because I ate very little to nothing at all while at work. I felt less hungry because I was more occupied. Although I didn't eat during work, I pretty much ate what I wanted after work. I'm not saying you should starve during work-time but I think having a job can be a great helper in losing weight because you're always active.

thats what happening to me. i never have time to do anything, and im too tired to eat durig my breaks (lol. its kind of crazy.) but from time to time, i'll get something little (under 300cals for sure) and either another meal (under 500) or none cos I'll be too busy sleeping. v___v

i am not really an expert in this or anything, but from the little experience that i have, i think you should actually excercise to lose the weight, such as cardio and stuff. "working" doesn't sound like its burning a lot of calories.....

i'd love to go out and run and what not, but i have no time whatsoever. i wake up at 7 and then im gone usually until 11 or 12 at night, then i come home and sleeeep. while im working, i'm usually walking around like crazy, bending down, serving food, brooming, mopping, etc etc (I guess like house work, but a little more) (oh, and i get a half hr + another half hr break, so one hr in total) and i checked on fitday.com how much i'd be burning, and it said around 90-100 calories an hour. (and i take the bus and walking to work, etc, so theres some time in between)

ommggg im so confused. >_______<

ooh count me in! i want to look fit & healthy by the end of the summer :] i have extremely fast metabolism, which helps me maintain my weight considering how much i eat (and let me tell you i eat a LOT. my friends keep telling me i've got the fastest metabolism they've ever seen in their life lol)
i decided to stay away from fast food as much as possible in summer ^___^ and i wanna lose my blubber aka belly so my jeans fit right thru swimming lol

Or maybe if its just a temporary summer job, get a more active one that has you moving for most of the time, instead of leaving you with nothing to do? Possibly, work as a waitress =)

this is some things that I think may be good.

breakfast:
` scrambled egg whites/or omelet and piece of a melon
` fruit cup
` yogurt/honey/banana/granola in a bowl
` small bowl of raisin bran w/ lowfat milk

lunch:
`9 pieces of sashimi with a small japanese style salad and a small cup of miso soup
`blt on rye with 5 carrot sticks
`chicken caesar salad in a small plate

dinner:
`baked chicken, 8 green beans, and small clump of mashed potato
`grilled beef, 8 green beans, small clump of mashed potato
`salmon, rice small cup, soup or salad

yea... i think thats a good plan..but prolly really hard to follow

Thanks happy.gif

There's all this stuff about water-weight etc... and my weight really fluctuates throughout the day... so when can you get the most accurate reading??

Please reply?? Thanks very much. ^^

The important thing when weighing yourself is to just to do it at a consistent time of day. I usually do it once in the morning and once at night. I like doing it in the morning since that's what you'll weigh on an empty stomach. At night I think though is a better idea of what you'll weigh on average after eating all day and what not.

You need to create a 500 calorie deficit a day to lose one pound a week on average. Whether that's by working out or dieting.

from my own experience, each meal (3xper day) should have a serving from each food group.

eg:
breakfast - 1 egg, 1 slice of toast, 1 peach, 1 cup of milk
lunch - chicken breast, 1/4 cup shredded cheese, salad, and 1 tablespoon salad dressing (i don't like lite/low fat salad dressings, so at this meal i just don't eat bread)
supper - hamburger, 1 slice of cheese, 1 hamburger bun, watermelon for dessert

my tips:

- if you don't like brown bread, don't eat it. the amount of fibre doesn't matter cuz you are eating lots of veggies, and if you're not enjoying it then you won't feel satisfied. in short, don't eat what you don't like

- i like real salad dressing and real mayonaise, so if i eat that at a meal i don't eat bread, rice or potato. you have to learn to make trade-offs if you want to get your goal

- 1 tablespoon of caesar, 1000 island, or ranch dressing is almost 100 calories. its not much, so make it go farther by adding a tablespoon of milk. you won't taste the difference and you end up eating way more lettuce or veggies!! for oily dressings like italian or french, add 1 tablespoon water. the emulsifier in the dressing will help it blend. so eat what you like, but less of it, and learn to make the best of what you have

- i don't eat cereals because they don't seem to fill me up. also, some have only 80 calories per serving (puffed rice), while others have up to 300 (granola). if you're gonna eat cereal make sure u read the back to see the serving size.

- i try not to eat snacks. that way i enjoy my food at meals even more ("appetite is the best cook"). but, if i get really hungry i will eat something healthy like a fruit, or one of those Babybel portioned cheese

- you know you are gonna get cravings for unhealthy foods if you always deny them. if your friends are having chips and they look sooooo good and you really want some, then have 3 or 4. it will cost you about 40 calories, but would you rather get a massive craving later and end up eating a whole bag (400 calories)???

I need a buddy too.

I'm currently on the South Beach Diet.
As far as I'm concerned, I failed it three times, cheated once.

I'm on attempt number four right now.
HOPEFULLY I'll be able to resist my impulsive eating habits.

my body gains muscle very very easily. so i do light weights (about 30% of maximum i could lift), and do reps of 15.

i can see my muscles getting more toned and healthy looking, but not increasing in size.

jogging is the best way to get a flat stomach, and plus, if you build up endurance in running..its good for any/every sport!

^^ What do you mean there are no calories to burn? How bout fat? THAT is what people are trying to burn in the mornings. Fat is stored energy.

People can also start off a day with exercising to get more refreshed, as a hormone is released when you exercise. Plus, you start off a day with a deficit. happy.gif It's great!
