QUOTE(murrkoh* @ Aug 1 2006, 08:05 PM) View Post

ok, how much would i lose in a month if i:

ran 2+ miles 4 times a week (mon, wed, thurs, fri)
and did ock juhyuns yoga 2 times a week (tues, sat)
and ofcourse ate healthy
???

probby 1-3 lbs a week? so that's like 10 lbs a month? is that possible??? ENDURANCE is the key.. keep it up!!! but for me i continue to go through pretty much the same excercise routine but i found its harder to lose weight after you lost a few.. so the rate will probably decrease after you have already lost some weight......

BUT DON"T GIVE UP!!!!

FIGHTING!!! tongue.gif

heyyy, i haven't posted in here for a long time, but here's my progress:

starting weight: 137
current weight: 125

i wish i could post some "motivational" pics like someone requested, but the absence of 12 pounds isn't that noticable on my body. i have noticed that my belly is smaller. geez, it's been a long time since i weighed this little!

^ Dude. I envy you sooo much. I use to be as heavy as 137 too. -___-

I wish I could be 125 right now. I'm hoping that by my birthday, on the 22nd, I can be. ^___^

This is my first time posting in this thread. I thought I would post my progress

Starting weight: 140
Current weight: 133
Goal weight: 110-115

I've been walking/jogging on the treadmill for 40 minutes and lifting weights after, alternating each day on arms and legs. I go to the gym 5 days a week.

As for diet, I've been cutting back on how much I used to eat and I add fruits and vegetables. No soda and no cany. 1 day a week I have my bad day and eat something fattening once that day. I go back to eating healthy after my bad day.

I'm not really trying to lose major weight, just tone my body & be healthier, but ahh, so hard for me to resist the junk foods. T_T I keep telling myself it's bad bad bad, and I was okay for a few weeks during the beginning of summer, then I kind of died. XD

But I think exercising helps me refuse the junk food & the urge to eat. After I exercise, I find that my taste buds consider sodas & candies too sweet (it feels like all I can taste is pure sugar x_X) and I end up eating smaller portions of food. Sooo as soon as I get back to my exercise regimen, maybe I can cut back again, haha.

Good luck to all the people trying to lose weight. Summer might be over soon, but that's okay, as long as you motivate yourself and stick to it, you can do it! ^o^

i was wondering is there any type of exercise you can do to tone your arms. My arms are the biggest enemies for me.

I don't know if this question was asked/answered before but is it okay to exercise early in the morning and have breakfast a few hours after, or is it preferable to have a breakfast before exercising (since it gives you energy, right?)

My problem with exercising after breakfast is that the sun comes out early from where I'm at so it gets a little warmer early in the day. I'd rather do my jogging/whatever when the weather feels cool and brisk smile.gif

I heard it is better to do fat burning if you run and stuff in the morning before you eat (or at least make it more effective). Also, don't eat complex carbs 2 hours after that. So, go early early in the morning!

i can totally feel ur pain tongue.gif one thing i have tried is to lift some light weights in the gym, not too much, cuz that would just strain ur muscles and make you all bulky, but light weights appx. around 15-30 lbs. i do sets of 5 and reps of 6, so thatz like 30 times a day?? after about a month or so, i really did see results. my arms used to be all flabby, now they are somewhat toned..... w00t.gif

also, you should try swimming. didn't you notice that all the swimmers have nice arm muslces? blink.gif

well, good luck.... try it out... just don't give up..... cool.gif

Sooo people will probably throw tomatoes at me for saying thiis but about 75% of americans think they're overweight when only less than 20% actually are. sad.gif That makes me sad. I'm pretty sure all of you aren't overweighttt... but yes, my mom always yells at me b/c I always complain I'm fat. So I'm a hypocrite. Teehee

RUNnnning burns up calories

Walkking burns up fat!

And both tones your stomach without working out separately. =]

I dont know where u got this but according to gov website, 66.3 percent of americans 20 and over are overweight or obese.

^-i don't think your previous days were worthless in anyway.
Because that happened to me, I got my period 2 weeks ago, and i went to the gym 4 days during the last week, and then I stayed home, but I didn't binge...instead I just did little excercises, like while watching tv I would do a little stretching, and then i would begin doing some leg/ab workouts, because if you have bad cramps apparently excercising will reduce them.
Just don't push yourself hard while on your period.

I workout 3 - 4 days a week, and during the summer, and it's been pretty good and steady.

I've been losing weight, in my arms, legs are getting more toned, bum is being pretty, and tummy is flattening.

And stamina for working out? Improving a lot.

My workout is going to the gym at 6:30/7:00 AM in the morning, and working out for about an hour and a half...
1 hour dedicated to weights, and then 30 minutes of running.
It makes me lose weight faster, and I eat healthy, and i drink 1-2 glasses of milk everyday! and of course drink water, and juices.
I stayed off candy throughout the summer.
AND
yesturday was one of my first little treats to my body..i made brownies! laugh.gif
Weee! haha

Example: I've lost 7lbs laugh.gif
So I'm pretty happy.. cool.gif

Why in the morning?
Well, according to this lady that works the front counter at my gym, she says how when she was really over weight like 200 pounds, she was told by HER trainer, that if she works out in the morning, and stop after 7 or 8, then get a full nights rest, her body is burning the calories or something while sleeping, and then when you go to the gym, it's a shorter time to get to your fat and you will burn them instantly!
And it's working!

So eat healthy and get a great bod! WOO!

JOIN CROSS COUNTRY...that sport does amazing things if you're dedicated! My friend like during XC season she weighed only 95 lb and since it was over shes like 105? Pretty amazing

or

JOIN SWIMMING!
I do swimming and it sculps out your body! And gives you nice broad shoulders, if you want them. Also it's hard work, because your whole body is moving; and those breathing exercises helps your abs.

But OMG I don't have the stamina to run 5+ miles a day... I throw up after 2 1/2 so cross country doesn't sound like fun at all.

Yup, I'm a girl! ^^!
Weights? I use the machines provided, never free weights for some reason.
The machines i use are: hip adductor & hips abducter, then the calf machine where you stand on the edge of the platform, and you constantly keep tippy toeing..sleep.gif..i don't know the name for this machine, and there is padding for your shoulders..it's hard to explain but i hope you'll understand when you see it at your gym.
Then i go off to doing my arms, all the machines provided for the arms.

Weight for arms i use: Range from 15-30 depending on which part of the arm i need to work out most.
Weight for the legs: 60-70

these are for toning..well for me..it just depends, till your liking.
I do 3 sets on each machine, with 1 minute resting in between each set.

And then i do 200 crunches...100 on the main section, and 50 on the tiny little side abs...lol..on both sides, so 50-right and 50-left.
Then i go off to the treadmill for 15-30 minutes of running.

well, she told me how the weight you lose would stay off completely, and you'll be healthy, and such, but yah you'll still be losing calories during the day, due to walking around, and such right?
So i suppose so?
Because that's what I do, I go to the gym at 6:30/7:00 and work out for about an hour, or a little more like 15 minutes extra, and then I go home take a shower and do my daily routine, then it all starts over again the next day.

So you just go on living your life! biggrin.gif

i lost 20 lbs overall in half a year but lately i lost another 6 lbs b/c i was in china. Its like sauna everyday unsure.gif plus some much walking tears.gif. Originally in January, i was close to 130. Now i'm around 103-105. It changes at times...some dont lose motivation guys. It just takes time. Losing 1-2 lbs a week might seem little but it'll add up!!
