people say I dont look big, but my family does. My friend says that I'm 5'7" and i'm not
big for my height but according to my family, it is. So anyway, whether they think I am
or not, i WANT to lose weight. My aunt and mom and other people said if I lose
weight, i'll look like a model because of my height.
I lost weight a few months ago, but it came back to haunt me because I got
rid of it. Now, it's time to bring my fatness to h-ll ! >:]

breakfast: 1 cup cocoa pebbles w/ 3/4 cup fat-free skim milk
lunch: reduced fat ritz crackers w/ low-fat peanut butter, lite barbeque pringles, sugar-free pudding cup
dinner: grilled chicken cesar salad, 2 small breadsticks (;___;)
snack: handful of honey nut cheerios
liquids: diet coke, A LOT of water ♥
exercise: 30-minute 1 1/2 mile cardio run, 2-mile walk w/ level 10 incline, intense jumping around in the student section at my school's basketball team's tournament game against our rivals
total calories burned ... approx. 517 fat calories
OMG! i did sooo bad today! for the past two weeks, i've woken up at 5AM every school day and have gone running. today when i woke up, i wasn't even THINKING, i just stumbled over to my alarm and made it snooze for 30 more minutes.. i was so dead i didn't even KNOW what i was doing! so when i woke up, i didn't have time to go running. so i slept more, took a shower, and went to school. i decided that this would be my day-off, instead of sunday. when i got home, i went to the game, and then went out to eat. i got a cesar salad, and it came with two small breadsticks.. and i just couldn't resist. i can't even begin to imagine how much fat, butter, and calories were in those. AHH. so when i got home, i popped in mean girls and ran/walked for an hour. so much for a day off, i'll save it for sunday. hahaha.
and... my upper arms are starting to feel less flabby. :]

You're doing fine. What's your current picture right now GERU? I already posted mine up Brusky. I'll post an improve pic when it's improving.
I don't get it. I've been running and exercise for the past month, and I notice no changes. I didn't diet until this week, but naturally I don't eat a lot and I don't eat unhealthy food anyway. Am I too impatient? My belly is still so darn flabby. So are my arms. The only changes I notices is that I sleep better, I don't get lose breath walking around campus, and when I run I don't get cramps on the side anymore. I'm able to run longer distance now and I feel like I have more enery during the day. But as for body appearance? it's still flabby. Am I not doing enough or am I just impatient?

haha, i have a picture, but i'm not posting it up for awhile. :x it's pretty disgusting. hahahaha.
hmm, how much are you running at a time usually? or how many miles in a day? maybe your body is at a plateau or something where it doesn't want to lose weight. you could try other cardio workouts in between days of running, like bike riding and swimming.
that's good that you are sleeping better & can run longer though!!

I run until I lose breath, walk, and run some more until I lose breath walk and run some more, then I go lift weight and do crunches. I have no idea how much I run, but I time myself of 30 min at the gym actively doing something. well I weight 90lbs, so I just need to tone up, but it's not toning, it's keep being flabby.

i've wanted to lose weight for a while .. but haven't gone around doing it
>_> i'm bad at getting started ..
so after reading some of the .. 108 pages, i feel motivated to start .. but i don't know where to start!
i mean .. i look in the mirror and all i see is .. *ahem* .. flab. i mean everywhere
T__T
so i was wondering where i should start and what should i do ..
the stair climbing sounded really fun, but the only stairs i can use of the ones to my house .. which is about .. 5 steps .. >_>
also, i'm on winter break now, so i have time to excercise .. but when school starts again, i feel swamped and stop doing any kind of physical activity .. how should i continue even if my work load from school is .. difficult to handle?
er. and there is more. (i feel like i'm full of problems)
i find it difficult to cut down my food intake. I normally don't wake up early enough to eat breakfast and at dinner, it is hard to stop eating because my mom is a great cook .. and um .. i get asked questions when i try to eat less than usual ... >_>
um .. i hope someone can help me ...

Start small I guess.
Maybe you should start working out at home, by doing lots of crunches and such, you'll feel pain at first, and will be getting quite a lot of aches in the first week, but trust me, no pain, no gain
As for healthy eating, first things first, you gotta say NO to junk food, NO to fast food, and NO to soft drinks. It may be hard, but just stop yourself, tell yourself NO, NO and NO, you'll only be screwing yourself in the end
Hungry? Snack on fruits, cereal bars and yoghurt

heyy, you already look good blue_shoe. as for your regimen, just stick to it. results are partially dependent on genetic factors so they'll show up faster for some while a little later for others. don't let it discourage you.
Mm..well, running out of breath doesn't necessarily equate to how much you're working your body. for example, i'll do sets of 200+ situps/crunches and i'll run out of breath, but my abs aren't getting the workout they're capable of. studies have shown that it takes at least 20 minutes of running to start really burning fat because during the first 20 minutes or so, you're body is just running off the glycogen stores in your muscles and hasn't even touched the fat reserves yet. i'd recommend maybe splitting up your work out: 30-45 minutes of just running; another 15-x minutes of weight lifting at another time of the day or on another day altogether.
-----------
mm..the only recent picture i have..there are no boxers or underwear or thongs showing, so i think it's safe to post?

my goodness 20 min? I can't last 10 yet until I have to walk it off, but I guess I'm working toward it. 200+ situps?? I go pass 60 and I give up. I guess I gotta increase my load though. Your body looks great too brusky. As for me, look at the fold on my white shirt where my rolls take up. Can't wait to post a picture of improvement to encourage everyone else.

He's a guy, maybe things a different. I do reccomend doing something for about 20 minutes before working out too though.
I'm doing battle for my highschool right now so I'd practice in my room a little. After a while, I'd feel a little pumped up and ready to workout. I wasn't drained because it was a simple dance routine but it gave me a little boost and I have better energy when I go to do my cardio.

I'm just going to write in notepad. and every ten days i'll update it on Soompi.
I've been preparing, I'm ready.... YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!
edit/
geruhjuma: how do you know how much calorie you burned? o.O
I run up & down the stairs 50 times (50 flights) and I saw results in 2 DAYS. You burn 510 calories by just doing the stairs exercise for 30 minutes whereas you only burn around 400 calories when you jog for an HOUR so it's a really fast & effective exercise.
HOWEVER, when you start out you probably will get tired after..say 10 flights? It's okay, just continue doing until you're tired and increase the numbers of flights every day. It will only work when your body gets into HGH mode - flushed face (red cheeks), a lot of sweat, hot skin, short of breath, heart rate should be higher than normal even after the workout is done, do it on an empty stomach - for maximum fat burning effects.
Find a flight of stairs that has at least 20-30 stairs (a track with stadium seating at a high school or local college is ideal). Walk up the stairs to the top and then down the stairs to the bottom 3-5 times. After this warm-up you will begin the workout. I DO IT AT HOME. WORKS FINE.
1) Sprint from the bottom of the stairs to the top as fast as possible MAKE SURE YOU SPRINT AS FAST AS POSSIBLE IT WON'T WORK IF YOU JUST JOG WITHOUT PUSHING YOURSELF
2) Jog down to the bottom
3) Repeat for 15 minutes
I know this sounds way too simple! You can make it more difficult by choosing longer flights of stairs. You can jog a couple of miles before or after running stairs. The key to whole workout is that is you hit the stairs hard, your body will release HGH and help you get lean quickly. Obviously you will get better results if you eat a low calorie diet.

lunch: rice, brocolie, bit of chicken
dinner: noodles w/ carrots, fried tofu
snacks: plain crackers ( are they ok?)
appearance: still flabby

Well, 20 minutes doesn't mean you have to be busting your butt the entire time. Think more along the lines of cardiovascular activities like tennis or basketball. You run a little, rest a little, run some more, rest some more, etc. Usually playing sports makes the time pass a lot faster and makes it feel like less of a chore.
I don't push yourself harder than your body can handle. There's such a thing as overworking out and it can actually be detrimental to your goals. And I don't see any "rolls" in your shirt.
And thank you.
I'm doing battle for my highschool right now so I'd practice in my room a little. After a while, I'd feel a little pumped up and ready to workout. I wasn't drained because it was a simple dance routine but it gave me a little boost and I have better energy when I go to do my cardio.
The 20 minutes is about standard for both men and women, at least based on some studies I've read. Warm-ups and stretches are definitely recommended.
Yeah, it's possible, but it's going to take quite a bit longer to get noticeable results. Each pound of fat is equivalent to 3,500 calories. You can speed it up by walking on declines (i.e. uphills) as it adds more resistance.
--------------
For today, I ran/walked/ran/walked 2 miles, then put in 45 minutes of weight lifting. Currently benching sets of 175lbs; trying to get back to 225lbs+.

Hm, I think my diet is really healthy now, well maybe not COMPLETELY, but like 95% of it is
I got school tomorrow, so I'm going to try and get up real early and go out walking. On average, how long does it take for you to walk a mile??
