that second website seems more for guys/bodybuilders lol

For the most part yes, however there is a female bodybuilding section on their forum. Regardless, dieting isn't gender specific really, you just have to lower the portions a bit for females.

No. If you're drinking plain bottled water then it has no calories which means there's nothing to store as fat. Keep drinking water it's good for you.

me tried doing crunches everynight. i increased my crunches to two everyday. and i also challaged myself to do some pushups. i lasted 3 weeks. i got lazy/bored. im a little upset with how it turned out... blush.gif
so every morning (mostly) me and a couple of my friends are going to go jogging during the summer.
im going to cut back on soft drinks and drink more jucies and water and smoothies<-cause its so damn warm.
not eat past 8pm (i know the supposed-to-be-time is 7 but i have so many cravings).
eat breakfast (study showed that eating breakfast will keep you thin b/c you won't be so hungry during the day and pig out. fact T/F? true. my friends who eat their 3 meals a day are thin and hardly excersise)
eat more fruits (healthy and yummy. besides, my mom is a fruit lover)
and no more napping
im 100-105 at 5'1. i think im average but i want to get rid of my tummy.

good luck to the rest and wish me luck as well. im bad at keepin goals phew.gif

-Jenn Ly<3

Crunches only work your stomach and probably shouldn't be done everyday. You need to give them a rest. The key to sticking to a workout plan is to find something you like to do. There's a great likelihood that you'll stay with it.

The time cutoff for food doesn't matter. You could decide to not eat past 10 and it could still do you good. The idea is just to eat less later in the day. Also, be careful of which juices you're drinking. Some aren't 100% juice and may contain high fructose corn syrup which the body turns to fat more quickly than natural sugars.

I don't want to start a new thread and since this has to do with weight, I guess I can ask??

Okayy I seem to lose and gain weight very easily. I mean seriously. If I sit on my butt all day on the computer I lose up to 3-5 pounds(no joke). When I eat, I gain back one or two .. when I laze around or skip a meal or two my weight drops. WTHELL?! IS THIS NORMAL?? crazy.gif

That's normal. My question is why do you go so long without eating?

QUOTE(Elysia @ Jun 27 2006, 11:34 AM) View Post

LOL and about swimming - I heard it makes your boobs grow bigger XD (which may not do wonders for your weight, but eh.) Cause it like... excercises your chest muscles or something... o.O

When was the last time you saw a swimmer with big boobs? Most swimmers have big backs due to the pulling motion.

I know that spot reducing is not possible...but...no matter how much
i work out and diet i only lose weight around my stomach. I can't seem to
lose the fat around my arms and legs.

I know there are different types of people....like...my friend is the opposite of
me and gains all her fat around her stomach, but NEVER seems to gain weight
around her arms and legs.

Do any of you guys have tips on slimming down like...thighs, and especially arms
and calves?? I've seriously been trying for yeeearrrsss....thanks!! any advice would
be quite helpful! biggrin.gif

Ohh! Shouyguang_21!

How long have you been doing your diet/exercise plan? I'm jealous! When I first lost weight, I lost inches around my thighs before anywhere else. I feel like I'm a pear with toothpick legs. sleep.gif;; You on the other hand seem to lose inches around my problem area. Tips? Secrets? :3?

I'm the same height as you, but 2 pounds heavier.

sw33t_angel:

I durno. I run like a crazy mofo on the treadmill for like 5 miles blink.gif

Lol. But here's what I got from the internet:

Exercise and Weight Loss
1. Exercise is vital for a healthy lifestyle
If you don't exercise, you are likely to have an unhealthy lifestyle. Result? As well as developing a weight problem and a 'shape' problem, you run an increased risk of developing several nasty diseases in later life.

2. Exercise is NOT a quick-fix solution to a weight problem
In my experience of treating thousands of slimmers, I have not found any evidence to suggest that exercise is an effective solution to weight loss. Yes, it helps to improve the long term work-rate of the body, which can assist weight maintenance in the long run. Yes, it helps to re-shape parts of the body. But it won't cure your weight problem. Only sensible dieting can do this. In addition, over-exercising may actually lead to weight gain and can be dangerous.

3. A balanced approach is best
In order to get the most out of exercise, I recommend that you make it a regular part of your life without going mad about it. Don't walk your butt off and expect to lose weight. Don't try to be an Olympic athlete in the gym and expect to turn your fat thighs into slim thighs, because it won't happen.

Be aware of your personal physical limitations

If you're unfit, or worried about your health, get professional advice before starting

Make a realistic personal exercise plan for yourself

Make a plan which you can accomplish without too much inconvenience or effort

Take things one step at a time and aim to gradually improve your overall fitness

Never over-exercise or strain yourself. Too little is better than too much

General Exercise for Fat Thighs
General exercises for slimmer hips, thighs & butt

Aerobic Exercise Classes
Join a local aerobics class. Excellent exercise to help you slim thighs

Skipping
Buy a skipping rope and skip for 10 minutes, 3-4 times a week

Swimming
All swimming is good. Even better is swimming on your back, using your legs only

Brisk Walking
Find a friend and go for regular, fast walks (20-30 mins each), 3-4 times a week

Exercise Bike
But instead of sitting on the saddle, stand up and pedal as fast as you can

Specific Exercises for Slimmer Thighs
To exercise the back of your thighs

Stand with feet apart.

Bend forward from the waist.

Reach to your right with both hands and clasp your ankle with both hands.

Push your upper body downwards towards the floor.

Count to 20.

Return to start position and repeat exercise on the left-hand side.

To Exercise the Front of your Thighs
Kneel upright on the floor, with knees together.

Lean backwards and clasp your right ankle with your left hand.

Do not sit on your ankles - that's cheating!

Hold this position for a count of 20.

Return to start position and repeat exercise on the left-hand side.

To Exercise the Inside of your Thighs
Sit down on the floor in front of an ordinary straight back chair.

Stretch your legs straight out in front of you, with your feet on either side of the chair.

Keeping your back straight and place your palms on the floor on either side of you.

Clasp the legs of the chair with the soles of your feet as though trying to push both chair legs together.

Press hard and hold for a count of 50.

To Exercise Thighs & Butt
Stand with feet apart, toes pointed outwards, and hands on the outside of your thighs.

Keeping your back straight, at right-angles to the floor, bend knees and allow your hands to slide down your thighs until they reach your knees. (Keep back straight!)

Hold your knees for a count of 5, then slowly return to start position.

Repeat 10-20 times.

-----------------------------------
Stand with feet slightly apart.

Stretch your arms straight out ahead of you.

Slowly bend your knees, until your thighs are roughly parallel with the floor.

Slowly raise yourself back to the starting position

The slower you do this, the better.

Start with 10 real slow ones.

But please don't strain yourself. Go at your own pace.

After-exercise Stretching
To avoid bulky muscles, always stretch the area you have exercised, afterwards

Example

Sit on the floor with legs apart and stretched out in front of you

Reach upwards with both arms

Then reach forwards and try to clasp your right ankle. As you do so, push your upper body towards the floor

Hold the position for a count of 20

Repeat with left ankle

Hi! Im Jennifer.
I noticed how a lot of people need to lose weight and are thinkin about
counting calories and what not to eat.
Not too long ago I downloaded a document online that specifically showed what goes on
in the body and where all that fat is built and how.
Before I ws obsessed in counting calories but I learned otherwise from this document
and became more aware of whats going on with certain foods taken.

This document shows how to:

"1. To remove the mystique from some of our more entrenched ideas, and convince the reader that they deserve to be abandoned.

2. To set out the basic scientific information needed to understand how nutrition works.

3. To formulate some simple rules and explain briefly their technical and scientific basis.

4. To give detailed guidance on actually using the Method.

5. To make the book as far as possible a methodological handbook that the reader can use as a practical reference source.
"

It isn't very long really and he has also recommended recipes and what not that are nutricitious.

Well I hope I helped...heres the link to the doc version that I uploaded

They are different types of exercises. You're not really supposed to sweat when weight training. Cardio is for the immediate burning of calories but lifting is to build some muscle so that you burn more calories when just resting. Muscle burns more calories than fat to maintain.

10 slices of bread seems excessive. You should try to add more fruit or other foods in the morning. 10 slices of bread won't keep you very full for long I'm guessing.

You have the right idea though. More of your calories should be consumed in the morning so that you have the rest of the day to burn the calories. It's a similar idea to the time cutoff most of the people are trying.

Average slice of bread has like 80 calories. A slice of wheat bread fomr Sara Lee has 140 last time I checked. How do you eat 10 slices O_O? A loaf has 20!!!

cardio is the way to go if you wanna burn fat...but the first thing you should probably focus on is your diet. I also heard bread is bad for diets...is it true? Does anyone else have any other celebrity daily meal schedules like the mariah carey one posted up there (thanks btw)?
