okay, so today there was a course fair in our gym.it was an opportunity to look at the possible classes to take next year.
i'm going to be a junior next year, and i decided that i am for sure taking almost all ap classes (ap composition,ap chemistry, ap u.s. history).i'm also taking pre-cal and an art (deciding between three:photography, ceramics, photoshop)
then i thought..this is nearly impossible.this year i couldn't get into honors history because of french 2.honors history would be the same period i would have honors history and that was the only period they had french 2. so i was thinking.next year, these classes are probably going to be certain periods also, meaning i'm going to have a schedule problem having to decide which classes i do want to take and leave out, unless there is some sort of miracle.
i am wondering though if there is some sort of request that student(s) can do to ask for certain classes to be certain periods, cuz i know alot of people who are having the same problem i am having..

If the course isn't offered a particular period, then the school obviously can't accomodate the class times just for you. If it conflicted with a lot of students' schedules, then it might be a different story. I'd suggest sacrificing one class for another.
It's weird that your school only offers French 2 for one period; do you attend a small school?

^ maybe not alot of people take the class. There's over 3000 kids at my school but AP French Language and AP French Literature are combined classes (less than 40 total) and one period only. Everyone here's a Spanish speaker.
Anyhoo... you should talk to your counselor and ask him/her to switch some classes around so you can accommodate French 2 into your schedule. Language classes are pretty important so your counselor is only doing you a disfavor by not letting you take it.

^ Yeah, but if anything, you'd think that more kids would sign up for beginning courses. My school is 3000+ as well, and our AP French class is the same way, but French 1+2 classes are overflowing.

yeah, the principal made our french teacher have all her french classes in the beginning of the day, and since she was an english teacher couple years ago at the school, the principal MADE her teach english again.and our teacher didn't even want to teach english.
but next year, some of my friend's are gonna have french 3, alot of my friends are in band which are also particular programs.
hopefully alot of us can get together, and be able to convince the counselors to have certain periods for certain classes..

my school is small enough that they can schedule classes against certain students' schedules and what they are taking
just talk to your registrar or counselor
