Korean dramas - MAYBE, b/c some dramas are so unrealistic and you just watch it for the fun of it, but sometimes, the dramas have little dialogues or parts of the plot that helps you make decisions in real life.
I've looked at life from both sides now
From win and lose, and still somehow
It's life's illusions I recall
I really don't know life at all

Oh, yeah. Both, K-music and K-dramas have affected my writing. I was really into writing, but all my characters were...um...white
I think that's it. Peace! -C. Lu
the ones blind to their beauty because of petty insecurities. No. I am of the literal kind.

dramas yes too, cuz it shows how korean people think generally about appearances, love, friendship, school... Like for example, in dramas you see how the first love is so important... Like in an obsessive way, the first love is sometimes so tragic!! and they remember that forever, like people cannot let go...
hope it helps you

Korean Dramas.. oh god.. you should see my family. My mother refers to almost every situation to Korean Dramas, they're very comedic and romantic at the same time.
Both together has influenced what I think is "HOT" and what's not.

korean music:
anyhow, korean music has made an impact on life because it has made me discovered undiscovered music that not many ppl in our school listen. i live in the san francisco bay area, an area with a lot of diversity in ethnicity. as an asian, i choose to listen to asian music ONLY because it has a certain conservative/melodic side i usually would love to overplay.
the korean-american singer lena park is my biggest inspiriation ever. even though i am a guy, she has talent that has inspired me to be not afraid of who i am. the lyrics of her songs she writes (she doesnt write all her songs) in english has struck me. after knowing that she was a Columbia University student, i was amazed at her lyrics even more. even though she's a really shy singer (she lacks promotion), she has a powerful voice and hit vocals so high and at the same time, have a sweet, young voice. she's made me believe not to be afraid of who i am, and sing and do things in times of fear.
korean drama:
i got hooked into korean dramas by one of the biggest korean dramas ever in asia: Dae Jang Geum. It had a lot of culture in it. Now, the first time i saw it (i saw it in mandarin, back in the days when i didnt understand mandarin), i had learned that it was extremely popular in HK and Taiwan. i decided to watch some episodes with english subtitles. it had one of the most greatest historical plots ever. one of my goals is to learn mandarin to understand these shows.
basically, without korean entertainment industry, i would not be learning mandarin. lena park, she has inspired me to learn mandarin. she did not learn korean until she became a singer, and that was around her late teens/early twenties? it has made me realize the importance of knowing ur culture. i did not understand why korean music/dramas were popular in china, but my curiosity on the reason why it was popular has made me interested in Asian culture.

The music itself also influenced me to learn Korean! ^o^
I spend tons of time downloading as well...
Korean dramas allow me a glance into Korean traditions, modern perspectives, and culture in general. Perhaps it's not the true culture that they live in, but it allows me to look at some taboos and lifestyles that I hadn't known about.
