Hi. Just wondering if anyone here attends SUNY at Buffalo or is familiar with the school. Any info, good or bad will help because I'm debating whether or not I should attend there this coming up fall.

I have little familiarity with it, though I do know a couple of alums. My impression is that it's kind of a party school, though maybe not at the level of SUNY-Albany. Academically, though, I think it's right up there with Albany, and it's certainly fairly well-respected in NY.

It is a great school! It's like 7 hour drive from NYC and only 50 min by plane. I hear there are lots of things to do there

Thanks for your inputs...so far, it seems as though no one here attends SUNY at Buffalo. This is a big transition for me because I'm transfering from the west coast and I would have liked to talkwith someone who was familiar with the school. Also, I was also wondering are there any koreans in that area?

My friend goes up there. There aren't that many asians really, but it's still pretty diverse. It's also really really cold up there, like really. They have underground tunnels so if there's this giant snowstorm you can still get to class.

Yeah, I think the weather is something you'll definitely have to adjust to if you're coming from the west coast. They also get a ton of snow.

A lot of my friends go there since i'm from rochester (about an hour away). I think its a big party school and it gets pretty cold during the winter so bring thick jackets. There isn't too much to do there. U'll probably go to niagara falls a lot since it's less than an hour away from the school.

heya!! my cousin studies there, and yeah, it can get pretty cold. i think it's a pretty good school though!!! when i went there, i saw a LOT of asians..mostly koreans (heehee probably coz we went to a korean resto)..but there were a lot of koreans in her dorm too. she calls it ghostown coz the whole town is soooooo quiet like after 6 (and we're not used to that heehee).

Thanks everyone for the replies, you guys are a lot of help. I didn't realize that SUNY at Buffalo was a such a party school, ahem...I'm just going there to study (yeah, right!!!).

Overall, SUNY at Buffalo itself is considered to be a good school academic wise, right? Decisions, decisions...it's so hard making these transitions in life, but I think change is a good thing.

P.S. PARAME
woohoo...maybe we can be transfer newbies together, that'd be great!!!
