i see them on cars and see no point in having them since you can see the road well during the day untill the sun goes down.. woulndt it be better for the battery if u didnt have them? iono i just wanted to kno if they had any specific reason for them.. sorry if this question is stupid.. if you think it is.. just dont bother to post anything..

it doesnt make any difference to the battery because your car doesnt run off the battery, it runs off the alternator

IMO DRL looks tacky when the sun is bright and shining but to each his own I guess.

What's the point of DRL's? (Daytime Running Lights) i believe..

it's for safety purposes.
and like akira said..
lights don't run off the battery..they run off the alternator (as do all electronic components in your car when it's running). the battery's main purpose is to start up the car.

Also after the sun goes down, you turn on all of your lights but there are parts of the day when DRLs help when it is bright outside... dawn and sunset.
Insurance companies and the auto industry doesn't offer safety features or give price discounts for safety features unless it is proven that is plays a positive role in auto safety.

its friggin difficult to see people during dawn and sunset like ZiGe said.
also, if you live in the north and everything is grey all the time in winter, there is always low visibility.
DRL help u see where other drivers are.
they may not matter in places in the US, but in canada everything is dirty and grey during winter. even if ur car is bright red, when it is covered in snow/dirt/ice... what distinguishes it from the snowbank?

lol not all bmws have angel eyes do they?
Nope, most do not. M3tor2nR's is aftermarket.
I've been thinking about adding some sort of DRL mod to my car as well. I was thinking I either change the high beams into DRLs or my parking lights as DRLs (like Corvettes). Recently I read about a kit to change my parking lights to stay on when my car is on, in a magazine (Import Tuner I think).

The Corvette might get away with it, but anything without factory DRLs and is using parking lights could technically get cited.
