I've been using the wavebird controller for GC & VC games on the Wii and just this past week I went ahead and bought Super Mario World and the controls are just awkward. I have to position my index finger in such a weird position just to get Mario to run and it doesn't make things any easier when running and jumping with Yoshi. dry.gif
Why Nintendo did this, I'll never know. Also Nintendo has stopped shipping the wavebird controllers completely so it's now discontinued. sad.gif

Don't know of an available guitar other than the one bundled with Guitar Hero III which by the way is now taking pre-orders on replacements discs for the defective copies making the rounds these past months.

Good news for Guitar Hero III owners! If you live in North America, you can pre-register for your new copy of Guitar Hero III for Wii.

According to a GameDaily.biz report, Nintendo has clarified Reggie Fils-Aime's statements regarding the future connectivity possibilities of Wii and DS.

"An article about the Nintendo DS video game system in the December 31 Business Day section (of the NYT) incorrectly referred to future capabilities of the device," a company representative told GameDaily.biz. "The statement that complete Nintendo DS games will eventually be able to be downloaded into the device via a wireless connection with the company's Wii game console is incorrect. Users can download games to play on Wii, and, in the future, the Nintendo DS will be able to receive demo versions of some DS games from Wii, but not the entire game. The demo will be erased once the Nintendo DS is turned off."

Baroque, an upcoming action RPG title for Wii, will include a new first-person perspective that utilizes motion controls and can be switched to anytime during gameplay. Developer Sting also intends to fine-tune some of the balance and difficulty, and will add a quick save feature that can be used in dungeons.
The Wii version of Baroque will support two control schemes: Wii Remote and Nunchuk, and Classic Controller. Widescreen will additionally be implemented.
Baroque is a post-apocalyptic dungeon-crawling action-RPG. The game is expected to be released in North America during February 2008. The Wii version will also ship in Japan around the same time, but a PAL release has not been mentioned.

Speaking with Web site GamesIndustry.biz, Creative Director for developer Beenox Thomas Wilson revealed the development of a new James Bond title for Wii. The game is expected to be released alongside the new movie later this year.
"Right now we're working on a James Bond Wii title in conjunction with Treyarch and we're rolling with it because we're really good at what we're doing and Activision doesn't want to send their ports anywhere else," said Wilson.
He continued: "One thing we want to make sure of if we're making the Wii version is that we absolutely want the controls to be top notch. Although we don't fully control the original development content because it's in collaboration with Treyarch, that's one thing that we can do - make sure we put out a strong Wii title."
Owned by Activision, Beenox has previously been responsible for porting the publisher's franchises - such as the X-Men, Spider-Man and Shrek games - to various platforms. The studio developed the recent Bee Movie Game from scratch; the overall success of the title has allowed Beenox to expand into more original projects, while continuing to handle licensed content.
The next James Bond movie, a sequel to 2006's Casino Royale currently under the working title of Bond 22, is expected to appear in North American theaters on November 7. The film will see Daniel Craig reprising the role of Bond; screenwriters Paul Haggis, Neal Purvis and Robert Wade will also return.

Konami Digital Entertainment has announced the development of Target: Terror for the Wii.

Raw Thrills originally developed Target: Terror and published the game for arcades in 2004. A special edition of the game titled Target: Terror Gold awarded players with medals earned through bonuses and included mini-games accessible by damaging select areas within the environment.

Leviathan Games is handling development of the Wii version, basing the port off of the Gold edition. Like in the original, players will face off against various terrorist groups across the United States. Some of the battlegrounds include the Denver Airport, Golden Gate Bridge and Los Alamos National Laboratory. The game will mark Konami's first attempt to utilize the Wii Zapper.

Publisher Hudson Entertainment announced that their upcoming title, Deca Sports, will feature ten events: Beach Volleyball, Snowboard Cross, Badminton, Basketball, Curling, Figure Skating, Archery, Supercross, Soccer and Kart Racing. Each sport will use the Wii Remote in "unique yet accessible ways", according to Hudson. Additionally, all events will be playable in both single-player and multiplayer, although online play is not expected.
"We have seen tremendous growth in the casual sports gaming market in the last few years, and saw an opportunity that would be a perfect fit for the Nintendo Wii," said John Greiner, president and CEO of Hudson Entertainment. "With Deca Sports we wanted to offer a sports package that is unrivaled in terms of sheer number of available sports. More importantly, the game is easy to play, but offers layers of depth that even hardcore sports enthusiasts will love to play."
Deca Sports is expected to be released in North America during Summer 2008. The Japanese version will ship first on March 19. No PAL release date has been issued.

Hudson Soft has also developed the upcoming Bomberman Land for Wii which is ready set for a North American release next week on January 15th. The game is essentially a series of minigames set in the Bomberman universe that are meant to show off some simplistic, but cute, examples of Wii functionality. It was released in Japan for Nintendo's Wii last year on March 8, 2007.

i have a question.. ^^;

do you need to buy a memory card or something if you wanna save the game?
for example, if i play smash bros and unlock all the characters and i bring the game to play on someone else's wii, i need to start all over from the beginning.

can i just use a gamecube memory card or do i need to buy something else?
if i do, what is the price range?

thanks.. =)

For Smash Bros on the Wii you really don't need but if you wanna carry over your saves and copy them to another console then yes you'll need an SD card. As for the GC version you'll need a memory card regardless since those files won't save on the Wii's internal memory. SD cards come as cheap as $8 or 9 for 1GB, as for the GC memory card that should set you back at around $20.

By the way, RS Trax is that right? SSBB released on the 5th, looks like the date was pushed up.

Gamesaves are insanely small and would probably never fill up an entire 1GB SD card however if you're looking to buy games on the Virtual Console and archive them because the 512MB of the Wii's internal memory is filled up then yeah you might want something with more memory. Here's an average of the file sizes based off a few ROMs I have on my PC...
200KB - NES games
1.3MB - SNES games
16.9MB - N64 games
Oh and my Mario Galaxy (Wii) gamesave is 108KB, hope this bit of info helps.

Rats! Looks like I'll make SSBB my birthday present after all. This new rumor has been spreading like wildfire and because it's Nintendo comes as no surprise. Basically the game is being delayed another month, this coming in from a online VG retailer who's spilled the beans of it a few hours ago. That and the fact that when I went to go log in my gamefly account there it was on the bottom of my queue list no longer with a 2/10 release date but instead 3/12/08. dry.gif

Oh man... At least it's not official until Dojo states it. According to the people on Smash Boards, there was a same topic made for the second delay yesterday but Dojo wasn't updated so I'm sticking with the fact that it's not delayed.

eta: It's highly possible that Gamefly changed their date because that's the date they'll have it available for renting since mostly everywhere else has the same Feb. date.

And last week Japan released their first Brawl commercial for tv! Lucky for them..

Gamefly as far as I know is pretty spot on with their release dates. They broke the news on the House of the Dead series hitting the Wii before anyone and in the past I've gotten games a few days in advance of the release date so I don't think their taking a shot in the dark here. I sincerely hope I'm wrong here but if Nintendo feels that it could use some more tweaking then I guess we all can do nothing but wait. Look how Mario Galaxy turned out after all. smile.gif
Bit of a geek moment here so bear with me... sweatingbullets.gif
"A delayed game is eventually good. A bad game is bad forever." - Shigeru Miyamoto.
And by the way, what's the deal with Wii Fit hitting the states? I have yet to hear anything as far as release dates go.

Can't really help since I don't know anything about your router, so check http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/systems/w...bleshooting.jsp

I suppose one of the main questions is, do you have a password to your router?
