My brother sold his GC ages and ages ago so....
The wii remote will exercise my arms anyway XD
You should buy! They should be pretty cheap since a used gc itself is only 29.99 (in USD). If you play with the remote you don't need to move around either, lol.. You just hold it horizontally

The mood and the music is probably the best i have heard in a game (i dont play Zelda). it was perfect for creating the dark and foreboding atmosphere to go along with the creepy locations, and creepy enemies. Even though in one part of the game the lack of music actually creeped me out than the levels with music, its just weird.
Game play was awesome playing this game and playing RE:make are two different beasts (no pun intended) it makes me think how was i ever afraid of a slow moving dumb-as-a-pile-of-rocks zombie compared to these fast moving, intelligent non-zombies. They move when you try to snipe them, and they call out their non-zombie buddies to try and kill you. the chainsaw guys are downright scary cause its a one-hit kill pretty much. Your tactical vest doesnt do jack when it comes to these guys.
Like with the other RE game i played the series is pretty much about conserving ammuntion. Learn to use the knife and you'll save your bullets for when you really need them. There was plenty of times where i wish i had more ammo, but didn't have it. It forces you to play smarter, almost splinter cell like where you have different options of disposing your enemies. Aim for RED BARRELS when you can, its really helpful.
Also know your herbs, for the noobies out there R+G+Y herbs extends your health and heal you fully. Always be on the lookout for them and try to combine when you can. I had Leon to full health by the end of the game with his tactical vest. I almost felt like a drug addict constantly searching for herbs
Like i said before the game play was awesome. The Wii tends to lend itself to games who overuse the motion sensor and as a result lead to horrendous games. But RE4 doesn't do this it used the motion sensor very smartly. The greatest function i think is the ability to aim the reticle with the wiimote helps tremendously. If i had other systems to play this on i don't think i could play it as well. It took me a while to learn how to run because like most guys i thought i knew everything and put the disc in and just started going at it. Looking back knowing how to run would've probably saved me some lives in the village (first time around)
One thing that got me frustrated was Ashley. Seriously you can't do anything with her and you cant progress further into the game without her. I mean shes not the most useless NPC I've ever had (MOME in PSO was) but she cant even equip a weapon. She ducks most of the times you want to fire your weapon but a couple of times she didn't and i ended up blowing her up with my shotgun. She can't even get down from high places that she climbed up to. At least cats will come down from trees when they're hungry enough. Even NFTP, my girlfriend thought Ashley was incredibly annoying (she sat through most of it while i played and pointed to things that i would've missed.
All in all though this game is a steal at 30 dollars. Action packed, perfectly paced, great atmosphere, precise controls (it feels really natural with the wiimote and nunchuk, great characters (with the exception of Ashley
Saving is also great because in the other RE games you had to look for ink cartridges to use the typewriter to save. Needless to say i felt an overwhelming sense of dread hte first time i saw a typewriter in this game. I immediately thought "Oh %#*! i don't have any ink!" but i just walked right up and saved. Though great, i think it made the game a little too easy. Needless to say i completed the game in about 22 hours, 78% hit accuracy, 959 enemies killed, i died 70+ times and saved i think around 66.
I give it a 9.5/10, simply for the fact that you can save a little too much and that reduced the scare factor for me. Because nothing scares you more than having done all these great thing in the game, your life meter flashing red and no ink cartridges to save. But aside from this it really is a great game, i thoroughly enjoyed it. I look forward to beating this on pro mode soon. Now i need to give my wrists a break! it even makes me want to boot up RE:Zer0 and finish it to get even more into the backstory and legend of RE.
Caution: SPOILER ALERT!
highlight to read!
P.S. anyone else think that when Luis dies it looks like a giant penis coming from Saddler?
Peace!
AHH SPOILER.. xD
Haha yeah I got this game and it really is a BEAST!

it'd be too scary to play but it isn't even scary. From the looks
of it, I'm worried that it might be too short.

.... really? ._.
Hrmmm.... *contemplates* I think I'll try to con my brother into getting us two then, so we can interchange between the wii controller and the gc controller XD I quite like the wii controller though... but then again I don't play for that long... prob 2 hours max and then I move onto my DS, hehe.
I should be able to pull some controllers off ebay.

Today's releases on the Wii Shop's Virtual Console include the following.

Kirby 64™: The Crystal Shards
Nintendo 64®
1-4 players
Rated E for Everyone
1,000 Wii Points
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirby_64

Psychosis
TurboGrafx16
1 player
Rated E for Everyone – Mild Fantasy Violence
600 Wii Points
Wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychosis_%28video_game%29
----------------

The Commodore 64 (C-64) joins the family in our Virtual Console systems. Adding to the already extensive VC library NES, SNES, N64, Mega Drive, PC Engine, Neo Geo, Master System and Game Gear, making Nintendo’s service a comprehensive window into the dusty annals of gaming history. International Karate and Uridium are among the first titles to be available, but with such a healthy back catalogue expect more to follow shortly.
Classics on the Commodore 64 include Geoff Crammond's Sentinel, Head Over Heels and Jeff Minter's Attack of the Mutant Camels.
Initially only available on the European Wii Shop Channel, the games will cost 500 Wii points each (£3.50). While most of this generation's experience of the 1980's powerhouse will be limited to a parody of its loading screen propping up the front-end of Vice City, Commodore's console was at the forefront of 8-bit gaming and is the single best selling personal computer unit of all time.

I'll be adding more posts later in the week including updates from the GDC (Game Developers Conference) 2008 in San Francisco.
I have to finish my painting for Art class which is due tomorrow!

edit: is the gc controller = wii classic controller? o_o? cause that is definitely a bargain since the wiimote costs 50 dollars while the wii classic controller costs 25.

I'll check target on the weekend to see if they have any GC controllers in stock but I doubt it since I haven't seen anything related to the GC in a LOOOOOONG time... but the wireless gc controller sounds good... too bad they're discontinued T_T
Ok, I'll take both your advices and go see if I can get my hands on two GC controllers for SSBB...

I think your chances are better if you were to just import the controllers from Japan. I remember seeing boatloads the first week Brawl was out.
As for Brawl, it seems the rest of the world will be looking at a Q4 2008 release.
I'm not exactly sure if AU systems are region free but if so and you're able to play NTSC material on your TV then I'd say import that too. Q4, Nintendo really needs to get their act together.
Before I forget, there seems to be an update out. 3.2U. I have no idea what it does by the way.

lol... it's not the same. gc is gamecube's respective controller and the classic controller is one you can also use to play virtual console games

Q4?!
I think I'd have to mod my Wii to be ablt to play NTSC. I think the Wii systems here in AU only allow PAL games... bummer...
Hmm... Japan, huh? Thanks for the advice. I'll check it out.

By the way, I have the Nintendo Wifi USB connector at home and my Wii system is registered on my computer but for some reason the Wii isn't able to connect to the internet? What's the maximum distance for the Wii and the USB connector? Isn't it 10m? For the record, my Wii is in the lounge at the front of my house and the computer is near the back of my house, within range. The computer was able to detect the presence of the Wii and vice versa but nothing further (like connection to the internet).
Does that mean I have to shift my Wii to a closer spot? And without any walls in the way...?

I take it you're talking about Australia and Europe? Since it's coming soon for the US.

Distance does matter, but it shouldn't matter in a household. If it's able to detect the presence of the Wii, then it SHOULD work so maybe it's your internet that isn't letting it connect? When I first tried to connect onto Wifi, my Wii detected my internet but it wouldn't connect. Maybe you have a password of some kind? Or you can change a few options on your router.. You should find some answers here, I hope
Ah.. maybe it's because the USB is discontinued now?
